I'm using sportz petrol MT for over 11 months. The reverse gear issue is there but not a regular and persistent one. If you're careful with the clutch (full press) you can avoid it. Toggle between 1/R, or 2/R quickly (full press clutch) you can get rid of the problem. But parking sensors shortage is really a bad taste. Even the rear camera is having blind corners. Adjjstible headrest for driver seat is a safety feature which is missing altogether (not even provided in top variant). No wonder why 2 star at GNCAP. However, this is the best easy to drive comfortable premium hatchback available in Indian market. I'm very much enjoying it! Soundless engine and silky smooth gear shift makes driving so much comfortable. Those who loves to be light foot, this is the best choice in hatchback.
Is reverse gear really a problem ? Plz update on this issue as I have booked Sportz version ,but repeat issue reports from all customers is bothering me to go ahead for purchase of the same .. plz explain the problem and it's seriousness ..
@@targetupsc4916 it's common in all Hyundai cars it seems, it's not a big issue... I checked with car showroom, he said it's done to avoid sudden reverse apply it seems... But nios is premium car go for it but exterior build quality i.e front and rear bumper is fiber tin... If you want mileage and less cost buy this or else go for venue or I 20 which has good built exterior quality compare to nios but same engine..
I'm also using NIOS for more than 1 year and have driven above 6k kms. I think Reverse Gear problem may be solved in this way. Firstly we should neutralise the gear before reversing it and wait for 2 to 4 seconds in Neutral position, then we should take Reverse Gear. I was also worried about this Reverse Gear issue, but I tried it and now I don't face this problem. We should use reverse gear with patience. It is also remarkable that Reverse Gear is used for going back, so it is useful to be patient and waiting for some seconds in Neutral Position and be alert while we are to back the vehicle.
I use grand i10 nios from last 2 years and I found some major drawback of nios is 1) Safety rating is 2 star, feeling very unsafe on highways. 2) Ground clearance after sitting 5 person in car is very low. Often touched in villages speed breakers. 3) standard tyre size should be 175/70 R14 at least.

I have been using Hyundai i20 2013 model .. the reverse gear aspect is not an issue actually. It is calibrated that way for a reason. Simply switch to the first gear, then come to neutral, your reverse gear should in all probability, as per my understanding, never give you problem then. It will swiftly engage.
I went for nios sports without 2nd option ...I m driving it from past 1 year ... interior is premium but have negatives like headrest, it's too pressure on neck,, suspension is hard, no rear wiper funny thing they provide defogger but not wiper, as all say yes the headlamps are poor..

My nios10 corporate edition have an issue of wheel alignment it’ll go left side even in the road is dead straight anybody face the same issue ? Showroom took 15 days to solve the issue but they didn’t solved and now its almost 2 months car is in showroom they can’t able go fix it …. The parking sensors have same field of view as 4 sensors. The technology is upgraded , that's why new models have 2 sensors.
