- On this video I show you guys, step by step what I have to do in order to pick up a full dumpster. I have a Texas pride roll off trailer with 18 yard bins. Equipped with a warn 15k winch. What insurance were you required to get to start the roll off rental business, and If you don’t mind sharing how much do you spend a month on insurance?

Does the winch need any maintenance ? I have similar trailer but a different brand (U dump) and to be honest the only maintenance I do is to grease up the moving parts that make it go up and down but nothing about the winch and it made me curious that you mentioned you needed gloves because that wire had grease on it
The Junk Ninja every 4/6months I do put some motor oil on it to keep it protected, from rust etc. But that’s pretty much the only thing I do to the winch.

I have a TP roll off trailer on the way, if i have wire remote i could be in my truck with it in reverse and not worry about it rolling away? Sorta makes me nervous ill mess it up standing out and truck will roll away😂🤣

Hi bro awesome information. I’m currently in the market to purchase a roll off dumpster trailer or a regular dump trailer. Just having trouble deciding what would be the best option since I’m just starting off obviously I know a roll off trailer would be more $$$. Just wanted to get your input on what potentially brings more money to the table.
Either would be a good starts, benefit of roll off you have more bins and can rent them out more, if you have people already willing to rent them go with the bins

Did you have the E-Brake on while you left it in reverse?
J-So no never do. I only do it like that when the driveways are flat and don’t have a very bad slope.
Where do you get your dumpster/ trailer setup. Every where I look online is rental companies?
DTX Baits Texas pride trailers in Madisonville tx, that’s they headquarters but ship theyr trailers& rolloffs to other dealers. Check them out. Better set up than PJ roll start in my opinion
How much did you buy the trailer and the dumpster box
cryptosam gomez bought the trailer and 1 box for $4,800 used set up thou and had to add about 3/4K to get it running. But a new trailer cost $12,000 just the trailer
I am also looking at a texas pride trailer. How do you like it ? Also looking at what the cost for insurance will be I am in Pennsylvania
Insurance is optional if your driving then just be very careful, and I like it this is the older model trailer but all the new ones are way better and improved

Do you need a DOT number for this? What’s your gross vehicle and trailer weight on average?
You don’t, and around 20/24k not over 26k for sure unless you have a dually truck and bigger trailer
Grtruckingdemolition ok. From what I’m seeing here in Missouri is any combination over 10,000lbs needs a DOT number. Dang it.

Powerstroke 87 just make sure they don’t load them with concrete or heavy materials like dirt etc, because the bigger the dumpster will be heavier, most trailers have the same 12v motors. And even I have a hard time picking up some heavy dumpsters. What area are you going to service

I went with a truck (hooklift set up). Trailers are not efficient.

I would choose a class 8 truck as well but trailers are fancy

I started with a trailer like yours, now have 2 single axle trucks and 2 double axle trucks, just bought a new double axle, 214,000 dollars. Trailers arent as efficient but damn these trucks are so expensive. Sometimes better to keep it small simple.

R R no the mack/ ram/ dumpsters are mines, the skid steer/ kenworth/ excavator my dads/ dozer is a close friends/ and peterbilt with lowboy a family friend.

The newer version dumpsters come with small wheels on the bottom to prevent damage to the homeowners driveway.
This dumpster have rollers also on the back of it

Can you load any standard roll off onto these trailer or do they have to be a specific type?
I’m not sure, pj trailer has a different rail system

No permits needed, just get insurance Incase you damage something.

Depends what set up you go with. If it’s only (2) 7/8k lbs axles you should be good

GarageWorker I started with one would be a side hustle I have 4 now and still do other work on the side but to have good income coming in you need at least 10 Dumpsters
