I’m a drug addict in recovery and let me tell you: my seven years of active addiction to opiate painkillers was unarguably THE blackest part of life. Also believe the devil is as real as apple pie. If God knows and sees, so can satan. This is why we in recovery must, MUST have a Higher Power...it was a no-brainer for me-it’s Jesus. He, along with the recovery program, has healed me and lifted the urge to use away from me. I’m forever grateful and will always bear witness to this...

I am not saying it is in every case , but a possibility in every case . I believe Deliverance prayers , and Maybe exorcism , the oil of extreme unction could be very useful in over coming certain cases of addiction. The group calix might bother to look into it.

I was addicted to crack cocaine from the age of 14 until I was 27. The first time I did it I fell out and went into convulsions. I tried many times to get clean and remember crying out to GOD to help me. Me and my wife started going to a pentecostal church of GOD with my grandma who we were living with at the time. We were in a very powerful service one Sunday night when the pastor's mother in law placed her hands on my head and prayed give him the mind of christ. Just then a demon manefested itself and came forward. The pastor had my pregnant wife removed from the santuary as the demon could jump into her and the child. The pastor and church leaders then cast the spirit out of me and I was then filled with the HOLY SPIRIT. Before then I could not go a day without the drugs. After that I wanted nothing to do with it even if I tried to. GOD is good.
I had a very similar experience to you. Although, I was also told about demons jumping into other people. It's not something I'm too sure about. We give demons access to us before they enter. I don't believe they have the power to just enter people at will. But, that's just my view.

My mother witnessed a possessed young girl, while she was a nurse in Brazil. They had her hospitalized, but called in priesthood. She told me she'd never forget the demonic voice, besides her behaviors, including how spoke to my mother when she started to pray for her.
As Father Lampert said, Latin's efficacy stems from it's status as the official language of the Catholic Church. Theoretically, if the magisterium updated the canon and promulgated a new doctrine that modern Italian was the new official language of the church, then Italian would have that benefit rather than Latin.
@@Eye_of_a_Texan it's not simply that. It's more of the history of latin. Fr.Ripperger said latin is one of the holy languages because it was nailed upon the Cross (INRI sign) among Hebrew and Greek. It's also holy because the Church has long history of using it exclusively in holy Mass and other sacraments.

I have heard doctors talk about crystal meth users who had to be restrained by several large hospital porters during violent episodes, despite the fact that they were in very poor physical health and weighed very little. I belong to the Catholic faith. When I went before our priest to be confirmed, we all went up in front of the congregation to receive the Holy Oil sacrament in the pattern of a Cross on our foreheads. The very minute Father David anointed my forehead with the sign of the Cross, and said a prayer over me… I felt a sudden rush of adrenalin throughout my entire body! I was so shocked by it, when we went back to our seats, I had to ask a few other people if the felt the same thing I had felt… It was one of the most amazing and joyful feelings (besides my daughter and son both being born), that I have ever experienced in my life! I've heard of people struggling to hold a possessed person down. The priest told them to trust in Jesus and not their own strength, and they were able to hold the demoniac down with a finger.

We younger dudes (said he, coughing meaningfully - at the idea of still being included in the 'younger' bracket) may not realise it, but olde tyme furniture wasn't made of aluminium, balsa wood and plastic, so think iron, teak, oak etc, that can be a weight and a half to shift - even for an erstwhile dumb-brick rugby player (erm, like what I am). The descriptions offered by Fr Lampert made my flesh creep; still, it is reassuring to hear the exorcists speak on the things that they may share - it is always a timely reminder to steer clear of experiences that can give the demons some legitimate hold on us .. however tenuous. One thing that tends to disturb me is how many priests (now mostly in senior positions) tend to exhibit an almost visceral hatred for things like Latin, sacramentals, and devotions .. I don't mean just a twee aesthetic dislike for 'all that old-fashioned stuff' but a genuinely obdurate resistance toward it, however well-hidden that opposition happens to be - indeed even the thought that it is possible to restore it all seems to make something snap (if not crackle and pop) 'inside'. As an emergency measure, you can make the Sign of the Cross over her and dedicate her to Jesus and Mother Mary, and ask Archangel Michael to protect her. Ask St Joseph and St Benedict to protect her. The more Holy protection the better. Young people are vulnerable to the demons. It is a believing Catholic parent's role to safeguard their loved ones with prayer and sacramental. Judas was possessed by Satan and did not display any signs of traditional possession. But he joined himself to an army to fight against God in the garden of Gethsemane. Then he committed suicide. I imagine that Judas despair (probably due to the devil possessing him) was so great he committed suicide.
Judas was possessed by Belial a devil belonging to the Satanic Hierarchy or one of the seven princes of Hell. Judas is a condemned soul and is in Hell but does reveal himself in possessions, so exorcists encounter him in exorcisms.

I see the point of your post but it may also lead one to argue that since Judas was possessed, he wasn't guilty of involuntary actions on his part. So I don't think it is the same thing as the bodily possession that needs exorcism. I think judas is like most of us: thieves laboring under the weight of our worldly desires.
Satan really hates Latin and one thing they hate more: the Psalms. They hate. And if you gather it all with Our Lady, then you will know how much they hate all of that and Mary. They just can't stay near you if you are dedicated to the Rosary, Latin and to Our Beloved Mother. Trust me on that. My own experiences taught me that.

I am so glad that the Catholic Church still provides this service for its people. Some notes any believer can actually do exorcism, most just don't know it. Hebrew also seems to be effective. It is not at all fun, but God will give you the strength if He has called you to do it.
How about Aramaic and Greek? These are also important languages. Aramaic was Jesus’ mother tongue, while Greek was the original language of the New Testament.
@@GaryHField I am sure that all languages work, since demons are polyglots. If someone is demonized or possessed they will certainly be able to use the language of that person so that is where to begin in most cases.

@@cornelkittell9926 If I remember well, lay people can pray for deliverance from demons, but only a priest can perform an exorcism. Yes, I suppose that would be of someone possessed. By the way, if you need to pray for deliverance, it's important to get it right - say a little prayer of protection for yourself (the full protection of Christ's Precious Blood), then command the demons to depart (I would send them to the nearest tabernacle containing consecrated Hosts) in the name of Jesus Christ, and command them never to return or retaliate, and then ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill the areas left by the departed demons. I've only ever done this in silence, without the person knowing. I'm a Catholic, but a Protestant friend suggested to me that when, for example, someone is shouting at me or at someone else and frightening them etc, you can pray a silent deliverance prayer. The first time I did this, the angry person stopped shouting and gesticulating and looked bewildered for a moment and then was calm. But this is only what I've experienced. You can get authoritative info from some great books written by priests on exorcism and deliverance prayer. (PS: Some people also say a severance prayer after praying for someone, but I don't know what wording they use.) Prayers of protection are vital. Holy Michael Archangel, for example.

@@danejar3519 I can't know for sure without meeting her (I'm quite spiritually sensitive), but from what you've said it certainly sounds as if she under tremendous spiritual attack. Esp if the weird 'stuff' has followed her/affected others. I would highly suggest you make sure you keep your self (& your family) safe spiritually: Pray deliverance & protection prayers every day (I highly recommend the 'Deliverance Book for the Laity' by Exorcist Fr Chad Ripperger); regular Confession; regular reception of the Holy Eucharist; personal prayer including the Rosary; read Scripture & so forth. Try to make sure you do not engage in sexual sin outside marriage. It would be good if she can find a good spiritual director - holy, humble & if possible, with some knowledge in this area. He could then give her a blessing (with a holy relic if possible). In my case I had no idea I was possessed, despite the fact I'd been so since conception (discovered during the sessions). I had been able to go to Mass, pray, receive the Holy Eucharist, pray the rosary, use Holy water, Confession, & was even prayed over countless times (inc Healing Holy Masses with priests known for their gift of healing). It wasn't until my (new at the time) spiritual director blessed me with a relic of the True Cross that 'all hell broke loose'. Obviously all in God's perfect timing, as well as the fact more powerful demons seem to be able to hide for longer (ie withstand more torture before manifesting against their will).

About a month ago she got a tattoo of 6 keys and 1 lock which just looks very out of the ordinary but “it felt right” to get and just a week ago she has gotten a tattoo of an indian demon which is also very out of the ordinary but once again just “felt right”, she has told me places that she wants to travel to because it is pretty much “calling her name” like india, egypt, Africa.. she has visions of her “past life” in Egypt she says. And it’s funny to me because when me and my friends first got to know her we described her as a fairy (her personality is somewhat like a fairy) but for some reason she’d rather be seen as a black cat, (at times she does look like a black cat, especially at night) and she says she is a cat all the time. It’s weird to me that so often she brings up conversations or talks about things that we talk about when she’s not around and it’s happened a lot of times or even sometimes thoughts we’ve thought which kinda trips me n my friends out, we always say to each other “it’s like she knows everything” but when she is with us it’s like all doubt about her being demon possessed almost goes away completely

I have real life encounters with demons and have documentation to go with it. If you think that this subject is just hocus pocus then your lucky just keep it that way because most people can't handle these encounters they just are not strong enough. I dated a man suseptible to this. He even said, "I have my demons" in the beginning and I thought it was just an expression. My faith in God got me out even though hee could've killed me. If I ever date again he will be Christian with strong Faith in Christ and I won't sin again and "date' without marrying because I learned my lesson. He wanted to marry me but my prayers saved me from that life sentence and from his death grip. He couldn't let God in. In fact I noticed him 1. Super strength yes. 2. Curious about, within the talk of linguistic forms of communication, talking in sudden foreign languages, out of the blue, caught my attention. In a way this happened to me. Back in '90, a week after my 18th Birthday, I was in an automobile accident. A very bad one in which I died. Luckily, the accident took place down the street from a trauma hospital. I was rushed right in. My parents were informed & I received my last rights from the Pastor of my Church.
Many years ago when i was addicted to heroin I tried saying that i wasn't a son of god but the words would get stuck in my throat and no matter how hard i tried something within me wouldn't allow those words to pass my lips, I'm not a practicing Christian but i do believe in god.

Today is the 31st anniversary of the day that I died, sacrificaly offering myself while dropping off my younger brother and his high school girlfriends off at a movie. While I was proceeding home, my '88 Volkswagen was struck head on, driver to driver. From this, I broke both legs ankle to hips and my face. Upon reaching the Hospital my heart stopped. The Pastor from my Church was at the Hospital and performed my last rights. But it was my time as of yet. I spent 18 hours in Surgery a few days later. Since then, I have had numerous grand mal seizures and am on continuous medication. One day at a time is how view life.

I genuinely appreciate this priest's ability to converse in terms of "cause and effect" and not default back to superlative-laden intangibles when giving these answers. His line about not doing the exorcisms in the abandoned house at midnight in a thunderstorm cracked me up. I may not hold the beliefs any more, but I can always enjoy the ministry and positivity radiated by someone who is really good at the job.

Why would an exorcist begin with the less potent “new rite” and then switch to the traditional one only when he needs an extra oomph? Why did the Church compose such one new rite which is less authoritative and strong? Father failed to mention that Latin is a sign of unity and the devil hates unity.
I’m a drug addict in recovery and let me tell you: my seven years of active addiction to opiate painkillers was unarguably THE blackest part of life. Also believe the devil is as real as apple pie. If God knows and sees, so can satan. This is why we in recovery must, MUST have a Higher Power...it was a no-brainer for me-it’s Jesus. He, along with the recovery program, has healed me and lifted the urge to use away from me. I’m forever grateful and will always bear witness to this...

I was addicted to crack cocaine from the age of 14 until I was 27. The first time I did it I fell out and went into convulsions. I tried many times to get clean and remember crying out to GOD to help me. Me and my wife started going to a pentecostal church of GOD with my grandma who we were living with at the time. We were in a very powerful service one Sunday night when the pastor's mother in law placed her hands on my head and prayed give him the mind of christ. Just then a demon manefested itself and came forward. The pastor had my pregnant wife removed from the santuary as the demon could jump into her and the child. The pastor and church leaders then cast the spirit out of me and I was then filled with the HOLY SPIRIT. Before then I could not go a day without the drugs. After that I wanted nothing to do with it even if I tried to. GOD is good.
I had a very similar experience to you. Although, I was also told about demons jumping into other people. It's not something I'm too sure about. We give demons access to us before they enter. I don't believe they have the power to just enter people at will. But, that's just my view.

As Father Lampert said, Latin's efficacy stems from it's status as the official language of the Catholic Church. Theoretically, if the magisterium updated the canon and promulgated a new doctrine that modern Italian was the new official language of the church, then Italian would have that benefit rather than Latin.

I belong to the Catholic faith. When I went before our priest to be confirmed, we all went up in front of the congregation to receive the Holy Oil sacrament in the pattern of a Cross on our foreheads. The very minute Father David anointed my forehead with the sign of the Cross, and said a prayer over me… I felt a sudden rush of adrenalin throughout my entire body! I was so shocked by it, when we went back to our seats, I had to ask a few other people if the felt the same thing I had felt… It was one of the most amazing and joyful feelings (besides my daughter and son both being born), that I have ever experienced in my life! I've heard of people struggling to hold a possessed person down. The priest told them to trust in Jesus and not their own strength, and they were able to hold the demoniac down with a finger.

One thing that tends to disturb me is how many priests (now mostly in senior positions) tend to exhibit an almost visceral hatred for things like Latin, sacramentals, and devotions .. I see the point of your post but it may also lead one to argue that since Judas was possessed, he wasn't guilty of involuntary actions on his part. So I don't think it is the same thing as the bodily possession that needs exorcism. I think judas is like most of us: thieves laboring under the weight of our worldly desires.

I am so glad that the Catholic Church still provides this service for its people. Some notes any believer can actually do exorcism, most just don't know it. Hebrew also seems to be effective. It is not at all fun, but God will give you the strength if He has called you to do it.
How about Aramaic and Greek? These are also important languages. Aramaic was Jesus’ mother tongue, while Greek was the original language of the New Testament.

By the way, if you need to pray for deliverance, it's important to get it right - say a little prayer of protection for yourself (the full protection of Christ's Precious Blood), then command the demons to depart (I would send them to the nearest tabernacle containing consecrated Hosts) in the name of Jesus Christ, and command them never to return or retaliate, and then ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill the areas left by the departed demons. I've only ever done this in silence, without the person knowing. I'm a Catholic, but a Protestant friend suggested to me that when, for example, someone is shouting at me or at someone else and frightening them etc, you can pray a silent deliverance prayer. The first time I did this, the angry person stopped shouting and gesticulating and looked bewildered for a moment and then was calm. But this is only what I've experienced. You can get authoritative info from some great books written by priests on exorcism and deliverance prayer. (PS: Some people also say a severance prayer after praying for someone, but I don't know what wording they use.) Prayers of protection are vital. Holy Michael Archangel, for example.

@@danejar3519 I can't know for sure without meeting her (I'm quite spiritually sensitive), but from what you've said it certainly sounds as if she under tremendous spiritual attack. Esp if the weird 'stuff' has followed her/affected others. I would highly suggest you make sure you keep your self (& your family) safe spiritually: Pray deliverance & protection prayers every day (I highly recommend the 'Deliverance Book for the Laity' by Exorcist Fr Chad Ripperger); regular Confession; regular reception of the Holy Eucharist; personal prayer including the Rosary; read Scripture & so forth. Try to make sure you do not engage in sexual sin outside marriage. It would be good if she can find a good spiritual director - holy, humble & if possible, with some knowledge in this area. He could then give her a blessing (with a holy relic if possible).
In my case I had no idea I was possessed, despite the fact I'd been so since conception (discovered during the sessions). I had been able to go to Mass, pray, receive the Holy Eucharist, pray the rosary, use Holy water, Confession, & was even prayed over countless times (inc Healing Holy Masses with priests known for their gift of healing). It wasn't until my (new at the time) spiritual director blessed me with a relic of the True Cross that 'all hell broke loose'. Obviously all in God's perfect timing, as well as the fact more powerful demons seem to be able to hide for longer (ie withstand more torture before manifesting against their will).

I have real life encounters with demons and have documentation to go with it. If you think that this subject is just hocus pocus then your lucky just keep it that way because most people can't handle these encounters they just are not strong enough. I am a Christian Warrior and will help anybody who ask.
I dated a man suseptible to this. He even said, "I have my demons" in the beginning and I thought it was just an expression. My faith in God got me out even though hee could've killed me. If I ever date again he will be Christian with strong Faith in Christ and I won't sin again and "date' without marrying because I learned my lesson. Curious about, within the talk of linguistic forms of communication, talking in sudden foreign languages, out of the blue, caught my attention. In a way this happened to me. Back in '90, a week after my 18th Birthday, I was in an automobile accident. A very bad one in which I died.

Have you never heard someone say " oh you're going into surgery? i will pray for you" well that is a simple example for you. we pray as Jesus mother has instructed us. I am not here to educate you on the Providence of God. I do however have to state the obvious: I believe that people who are skeptical of God and His unfailing goodness are usually people who are hurting and lost lost in falsehood. Today is the 31st anniversary of the day that I died, sacrificaly offering myself while dropping off my younger brother and his high school girlfriends off at a movie. While I was proceeding home, my '88 Volkswagen was struck head on, driver to driver. From this, I broke both legs ankle to hips and my face. Upon reaching the Hospital my heart stopped. The Pastor from my Church was at the Hospital and performed my last rights. But it was my time as of yet. I spent 18 hours in Surgery a few days later. Since then, I have had numerous grand mal seizures and am on continuous medication. One day at a time is how view life.
i dropped out not choosing for myself any longer. i pay attention and listen to all my relations to be true to who i am and why im here. grateful for eyes to see ears to here and a heart filled with love. i was told to know myself and have heard in my mind parables that led my to lost books and ancient stories. told me my life has everything i need and that i merely need to accept the life made for me.

2) knowing languages I shouldn't know - in fact the reverse, any language I master is either Germanic or Romance, including Latin, but my Greek is rusty, my Polish and Lithuanian are gone, and knowing words in Sanskrit or Avestic related to linguistics is fairly common among linguists
3) knowing information one shouldn't know - well, a Vatican II-er can claim I shouldn't know all the proofs of Heliocentrism can be subverted or I shouldn't know St. Thomas and Riccioli believed in Angelic movers of the Celestial bodies - but that kind of strategic thing simply would land too many dissenters from Modernism in exorcism, and as I know Latin and have access to internet, there is lots of things I actually should know, even if Vatican II-ers don't or say one shouldn't
4) I don't have an aversion to anything sacred, when not praying Our Father, I do remain faithful to Hail Mary.

“Modern evangelicals” speaking in tongues is painting with a pretty broad brush. It’s mostly just Pentecostals from what I understand.
I was watching an evangelist "church" routine on TV and the minister who was supposed to be speaking in tongues sounded an awful lot like gibberish and made up words, but if course the audience bought into it and they were all crying after being touched etc.

As an atheist raised Catholic, I concur. I genuinely appreciate this priest's ability to converse in terms of "cause and effect" and not default back to superlative-laden intangibles when giving these answers. His line about not doing the exorcisms in the abandoned house at midnight in a thunderstorm cracked me up. I may not hold the beliefs any more, but I can always enjoy the ministry and positivity radiated by someone who is really good at the job.

Have Holy water in your home , wear a saint Benedict medal ( have it blessed) use the Holy water in you
Nightly vespers. Lighting a holy candle puts you in the presence of God to say your prayers.
Satan is not to be feared , ask mother to be the mother of your home draw a cross on front and back door with Holy water and say the Lord's prayer.
You will lose your fear , Satan will know he's not welcome, get to a Latin mass and say the Rosery every day. Our mother loves it when her children remember her, any mothers heart does, so does our mother.

After watching this months ago, I was scared it is like my eyes opened. I had to pray constantly to get the fear out of me.
But it is also because my friend told me she was being attacked by demons.
She still is, but she now prays, no longer scared of them and she can eat.

Why would an exorcist begin with the less potent “new rite” and then switch to the traditional one only when he needs an extra oomph? Why did the Church compose such one new rite which is less authoritative and strong? Father failed to mention that Latin is a sign of unity and the devil hates unity.
