Thank you Austin for all you do. I hàve no place to have a layout and barely hàve floor space to set up a track. Could you run the Washington Frontiersman Freight set môre for us? Thank you again.
I have one custom painted in the Washington engine paint scheme. The engine and three cars including the combine in red. It looks asif A.C. Giulbert produced it. it's absoultely beautiful. I'll send photos. God Bless you Ausitn!!!!! From another Flyer lover such as you.
I had been offered a brand new Washington set from an old collector who bought out a closing store in the south 20 years ago. I was too broke to buy it then and had to pass on it!!
Very interesting. Sadly this was the beginning of the end of a very much loved company. Lionel was suffering from the same problems. Funny you mentioned Disney's movie The Great American Locomotive Chase. Lionel called their version THE GENERAL. Nice job, Austin.
Iove your new video about the Franklin and Washington Frontiersman American Flyer sets. I like them more now that I have seen you run them! The Smoke is greàt and I think a pea light like they didn't have in 1959 or 1960 could be put in there for a headlight. I am sure you or someone with the correct tools and skill could drill a hole máking a spot for a pea light to be installed. I love the colors of the Washington locomotive especially but both engines are really nice and do look alot like some photos of old prototypes I have seen on utube channels.
Not sure why but I have always liked these two sets. They run good, smoke good, and are pretty reliable. Like all of them, they need serviced every so often.
The Franklin set is nice in new condition but in 1960 the Washington freight is gorgeous. Both have to be KC versions or forget it. Some day I hope to find both in çomplete Exc+ condition.
There is a Marx Brothers Movie, I believe it was intitled " Out West". while running a wood burner engine, they striped all the passenger cars they were pulling. Very funny.

I did like the video and did find it interesting. I have the Green set and I really like it. Your wood stack is a cool addition.
Nicely done.

I want the Washington most and complete with KC only. Will take awhile to find both sets and afford them.
If you ever get a chance, you need to visit The General's museum in Kennesaw, GA. it is an awesome museum with tons of railroad information.
Sounds amazing!

I can see how these grow on you .

I've never seen that! I'll look for it. Love the slap stick era!
