So glad you're trying out STRAY KIDS too! The little scene at the end with the BACK DOOR sign references their song BACK DOOR which TIME magazine included on their list of "The 10 Best Songs of 2020" (they were the only KPop artists chosen that year). Definitely give that a go, you'll probably enjoy it. There are dance practice videos available for most of their songs that have MVs, and those are worth a watch when you want to focus on just the choreo, as they are phenomenal performers. STRAY KIDS debuted in 2018 but already have 100+ songs to check out, almost all of which they have written and produced. The three producers in the group (otherwise known as 3RACHA) started out as a rap group before STRAY KIDS was formed and are the youngest and most credited idols of the 4th Generation groups in South Korea. Secret Secret is an amazing song. That and Red Lights are my fav. Fairytale is spectacular, too. Their sound and lyrics are what set them apart. They do their own thing...hence the meaning behind God's Menu. Like OP said, check them out.

They are a different group for various reasons- 1) They are completely self produced. 3 members (Chan, Han & Changbin) have a subunit called "3 Racha" who does all the writing, composing and production. This is very rare in kpop. 2) Unlike other groups where the company puts them together, in Stray Kids the leader (Chan) selected the members himself. He even hand designed their logo. 3) The group has a very distinct sound which makes them stand out. However, even in their own style they have a lot of variation in their discography. Their sound is heavily rap focused but even their vocal songs are amazing. Kpop is not a "genre" of music, kpop is the industry of mainstream (popular) music of South Korea, so every kpop artist will have a different genre or concept in them, some do hip hop, others do rock, others do metal, other ballads, and others what you call in america "bubble gum pop music"
As a 50+ Black lady I love Stray Kids and many other Kpop groups. Your video popped in my recommended because it was referencing SKZ and I just thought, well let me watch another Felix 😮moment. Also which is not heard of in Kpop, Bang Chan picked each member of the group. Usually, that is done by the company but not in SKZ's situation. I'd for sure recomment Thunderous, Maniac, Venom and Freeze.

As a multistan and a person whose favorite artists being Stray Kids and BTS, I'm so glad you checked them out as well. One important thing you should know is that this group is self-produced. They make 99% of their music (from beats to lyrics). 3 of the 8 members are the main production team called 3RACHA (Bangchan, Changbin and Han). Just like BTS, they have many different genres of music within their discography so I'm sure you will find songs that you'll love. People know them as more of a hard-hitting group with strong raps and crazy production. But many of their b-sides tracks are actually soft/er and more vocal. Another thing I want to say is that within the 8 members, they ALL can sing and rap. There used to be sub-units (rap, dance, vocal) but not anymore. Welcome to Stray Kids! Felix (deep voice) always surprises everyone with his voice! Stray Kids are self produced which is rare in Kpop and members were chosen by leader Bang Chan which is also rare. They go across all genres of music from hard hitting raps (Changbin is the fastest rapper in kpop and Han is amazing too) like Easy or Venom, to beautiful melodic songs like Scars, Sorry I Love You and Lonely St. And even diss tracks for haters who say they are too loud or who pigeon hole them into specific roles like Cheese and Thunderous. They can do it all! All the members are super talented. Bang Chan, Lee Know (Minho), Changbin, Hyunjin, Han (Jisung), Felix, Seungmin and I.N (Jeongin) and all can dance, sing and rap. And their songs aren't just typical love songs. They make a point of writing lyrics the listeners can relate to and even tackle harder topics like depression and toxic relationships. All kpop groups has RAPPERS. They all have at least 1 rappers in the group but usually it’s more than 2 And for contrast one lower/deep voice rapper and one higher tone rapper
Not true..there are a lot of kpop groups without rappers, but most mainstream and 4th gen groups all have at least one rapper. Gfriend was one mainstream group who didn’t have a rapper.

Truthfully what we Americans call kpop ,Korean call Idol music. And yes Idol music have lots of different genre. And Idol is a whole different thing that just singers, rappers , dancers and musicians. It's the clothes, the hair, the makeup, how they act in public and private, the really high public expectations, the pressure... Some of them start really young (like 13) as trainies and don't even finish their education, some others come from different parts of the world (USA, Canada,New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan, Thailand) and their day consists of going to school, singing lessons, dance practice sleep for 4-5 hours and repeat. That is one of the reasons why almost all the different groups are really close to each other and show a lot of skinship (they are not afraid to touch and care for each other, and they don't have the same hangup about it like some people have, they grew up together) . So yeah, k-pop music is so much more than just pop music.
Stray kids is a self produced group which is rare in kpop. they produced their own beats, lyrics, and arrangement of their songs. so what you hear is basically their own masterpiece
I’m a hardcore blink and just listen to girl groups and don’t listen to boy groups but there’s always an exception. Stray Kids are they exception for me. (When I first got into Kpop it was Shinee - who I still love. I just don’t follow them like I used to.)

I am a multi stan fan including stray kids and army and so many more because the music is so good.but stray kids is my first love to kpop. Felix is the deep voice and born in Australia. Stray Kids writes, composes, arranges and produces 99.9%of their own music. They love to experiment with their music and care for their message in their own music. They all can rap and dance and have beautiful vocals.
So in korea, if you wanna be a kpop idol you audition for w company and if u happen to get through the audition then they set you up in a dorm where you basically go to kinda an arts school( if you already have these skills you hone them) and train to rap, dance, sing, act, speak other languages etc. Some train for a few months while others train for years to debut in a group. You live together with the other trainees as well. In stray kids the guy with the deep voice Felix is australian and when he started he only knew how to speak basic korean but thanks to lots of hard work and his members he is now fluent. Also their leader chan( i believe) he trained for i think 7 years before debutinh. Stays feel free to correct me if im wrong. Im an Army but i have a soft spot fot stray kids and ive watched an intro guide a few tines but details r a bit fuzzy.

"Maniac" is one of their newer songs and worth checking out. Like others have said, I'm not a Stay, but I DO like a lot of their songs. SUPER talented. :)
These guys have sooo much good music.....For harder hitting music, try Venom (it's got the creepiest, catchiest, most original beat ever), Freeze, and Maniac which were released just this March, Thunderous, Easy and Domino (if you want more of their dancing, watch their Domino dance practice) from last year, Back Door from the same album as God's Menu, and Side Effects and Double Knot from their early years. For the more melodic/vocal songs, look at Lonely Street, Winter Falls, Sorry I Love You, Ex. If you want to hear the influence Nirvana/grunge had on Bang Chan (leader and one of the 3 production team members of the group) listen to Yayaya (no mv, get a color coded lyrics video)--it's a very very early bside release, not very polished and so-so production quality, but still good, and hey, kpop grunge?! Grrrr (Beware) also fits that weird little niche. For other awesome music that doesn't quite fit the above categories, check out All In, Circus, Cheese, Christmas Evel, and I highly recommend the three "First Take" recordings--Mixtape: OH, Scars, and Slump. Those last 3 are live, one-take studio recordings of Japanese versions of those songs. Slump was one of two sound tracks they recorded for Tower Of God, the other is Top, which is also great. There are mv and dance performance versions of those three songs as well.

They are mostly self producing, song writing and beat creation. They are the only kpop group to be handpicked by the leader. Changbin as of 2021 is the fastest kpop rapper at 11.13 sps. Bang Chan, Changbin and Han write and produce, as well as they are known under 3Racha which was pre debut and you can see those songs on their Stray Kids YT channel as well as dance mv. Stray Kids are also not scared to touch on subjects that are controversial in the kpop industry such as mental and self acceptance which you can hear in Silent Cry Secret Secret Street Light And they are not afraid to clap back at haters.. Such as in Cheese and Domino. These guys are a different breed than the typical kpop group and their sound is not typical kpop either. In Korea they are often ref to as noisy music and gained a majority of their popularity first in the international markets, they are one of the biggest 4gen groups. I love Stray Kids. I'm a fan of loud bombastic music and they do that really well. Great performers and good at staying up to date with the trends while having a unique sound. Their music is great on it's own.
I'm a BTS ARMY but I watch what Stray Kids do, they are very talented and experimental. You should check out their Side Effects, Double Knot, Venom and Red Lights. Hellevator as well, that was their pre-debut song when they were participating in a survival show.
I love Stray Kids, I'm Army and Stay.. Han and Felix are the best, Changbin is a fierce rapper, this songs has 3 concepts, construction, experimentation, competition and it's about whatever they serve it will satisfy your tastes.. Looks like Felix snatched another one

They’re one of the very very few all self produced groups which is why they are so proud and unapologetic about their music( which is criticized for being loud or too noisy) that’s why you should react to thunderous and cheese from there Noeasy(noisy) album which are basically a comeback to the haters!!

Just like BTS, they have many different genres of music within their discography so I'm sure you will find songs that you'll love. People know them as more of a hard-hitting group with strong raps and crazy production. But many of their b-sides tracks are actually soft/er and more vocal.
Another thing I want to say is that within the 8 members, they ALL can sing and rap. There used to be sub-units (rap, dance, vocal) but not anymore.
Bangchan - leader, oldest, more of a vocalist than a rapper (meaning we hear him sing more than rap)
Lee Know - more of a vocalist
Changbin - a rapper (can sing)
Hyunjin - more of a rapper
Han - a rapper and a vocalist (this guy is one of the main rappers and could be a main vocalist. He usually sings the highest and hardest notes. He is known as an all-rounder in k-pop)
Felix - deep voice, more of a rapper
Seungmin - vocalist (can rap)
I.N - youngest (maknae), vocalist (can rap)

Welcome to Stray Kids! Felix (deep voice) always surprises everyone with his voice! Stray Kids are self produced which is rare in Kpop and members were chosen by leader Bang Chan which is also rare. They go across all genres of music from hard hitting raps (Changbin is the fastest rapper in kpop and Han is amazing too) like Easy or Venom, to beautiful melodic songs like Scars, Sorry I Love You and Lonely St. And even diss tracks for haters who say they are too loud or who pigeon hole them into specific roles like Cheese and Thunderous. They can do it all! All the members are super talented. Bang Chan, Lee Know (Minho), Changbin, Hyunjin, Han (Jisung), Felix, Seungmin and I.N (Jeongin) and all can dance, sing and rap. And their songs aren't just typical love songs. They make a point of writing lyrics the listeners can relate to and even tackle harder topics like depression and toxic relationships. You seriously can't go wrong with any of their songs. Please do more reactions to them!

Not true..there are a lot of kpop groups without rappers, but most mainstream and 4th gen groups all have at least one rapper. Gfriend was one mainstream group who didn’t have a rapper.

Truthfully what we Americans call kpop ,Korean call Idol music. And yes Idol music have lots of different genre. And Idol is a whole different thing that just singers, rappers , dancers and musicians. It's the clothes, the hair, the makeup, how they act in public and private, the really high public expectations, the pressure... Some of them start really young (like 13) as trainies and don't even finish their education, some others come from different parts of the world (USA, Canada,New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan, Thailand) and their day consists of going to school, singing lessons, dance practice sleep for 4-5 hours and repeat. That is one of the reasons why almost all the different groups are really close to each other and show a lot of skinship (they are not afraid to touch and care for each other, and they don't have the same hangup about it like some people have, they grew up together) . So yeah, k-pop music is so much more than just pop music.

I’m a hardcore blink and just listen to girl groups and don’t listen to boy groups but there’s always an exception. Stray Kids are they exception for me. (When I first got into Kpop it was Shinee - who I still love. I just don’t follow them like I used to.)

I am a multi stan fan including stray kids and army and so many more because the music is so good.but stray kids is my first love to kpop. Felix is the deep voice and born in Australia. Stray Kids writes, composes, arranges and produces 99.9%of their own music. They love to experiment with their music and care for their message in their own music. They all can rap and dance and have beautiful vocals.
I'm not a Stay but I enjoy Stray Kids .. especially in the gym.. it get me hype!
SKZ is a so talented group. They also give full effort whenever they do for music, performance or even for fan meeting 💜
So in korea, if you wanna be a kpop idol you audition for w company and if u happen to get through the audition then they set you up in a dorm where you basically go to kinda an arts school( if you already have these skills you hone them) and train to rap, dance, sing, act, speak other languages etc. Some train for a few months while others train for years to debut in a group. You live together with the other trainees as well.
In stray kids the guy with the deep voice Felix is australian and when he started he only knew how to speak basic korean but thanks to lots of hard work and his members he is now fluent. Also their leader chan( i believe) he trained for i think 7 years before debutinh. Stays feel free to correct me if im wrong. Im an Army but i have a soft spot fot stray kids and ive watched an intro guide a few tines but details r a bit fuzzy.

Baby face Felix with the super deep voice. The most unique voice in Kpop. I am an uber BTS fan, but Stray kids are awesome live. Lots of rock themed songs. They play with a live band. They are awesome too. Saw them in Chicago's United Center.

"Maniac" is one of their newer songs and worth checking out. Like others have said, I'm not a Stay, but I DO like a lot of their songs. SUPER talented. :)
These guys have sooo much good music.....For harder hitting music, try Venom (it's got the creepiest, catchiest, most original beat ever), Freeze, and Maniac which were released just this March, Thunderous, Easy and Domino (if you want more of their dancing, watch their Domino dance practice) from last year, Back Door from the same album as God's Menu, and Side Effects and Double Knot from their early years. For the more melodic/vocal songs, look at Lonely Street, Winter Falls, Sorry I Love You, Ex.
If you want to hear the influence Nirvana/grunge had on Bang Chan (leader and one of the 3 production team members of the group) listen to Yayaya (no mv, get a color coded lyrics video)--it's a very very early bside release, not very polished and so-so production quality, but still good, and hey, kpop grunge?! Grrrr (Beware) also fits that weird little niche. For other awesome music that doesn't quite fit the above categories, check out All In, Circus, Cheese, Christmas Evel, and I highly recommend the three "First Take" recordings--Mixtape: OH, Scars, and Slump. Those last 3 are live, one-take studio recordings of Japanese versions of those songs. Slump was one of two sound tracks they recorded for Tower Of God, the other is Top, which is also great. There are mv and dance performance versions of those three songs as well.

They are mostly self producing, song writing and beat creation. They are the only kpop group to be handpicked by the leader. Changbin as of 2021 is the fastest kpop rapper at 11.13 sps. Bang Chan, Changbin and Han write and produce, as well as they are known under 3Racha which was pre debut and you can see those songs on their Stray Kids YT channel as well as dance mv. Stray Kids are also not scared to touch on subjects that are controversial in the kpop industry such as mental and self acceptance

I'm a BTS ARMY but I watch what Stray Kids do, they are very talented and experimental. You should check out their Side Effects, Double Knot, Venom and Red Lights. Hellevator as well, that was their pre-debut song when they were participating in a survival show.
