I’ve had mine for a good month now, and in my experience, the device is pretty great, but all it does really is sharpen the image in a 4K fashion. Thankfully, I was able to combine my Mclassic with it, and so doing, made use of both to create quite the experience. It’s worth having, but if your looking a less jagged image, I’m afraid that’s not what it’s design for.
TV upscale is way different than 4K Gamer Pro upscale because of the chips and algorithm. The result of improvement is huge if you have high-end OLED TV compared to a normal 4k TV.
I have a LG OLED and it's not the same thing. It's picky with the upscale. Example, I have a Old Celeron laptop connected to it all by itself. If I press info on the remote. It will say 4k on the TV. That laptop can't even do 1080p but for whatever the TV says 4k. It very picky on what it wants to upscale. Get 4k Gamer Pro, it's worth it.
If you combine your tv setting plus this plus the mclassic you will definitely get better graphic enhancements only the tv setting won’t do the same as this devices I have LG oled c3 2022
has anyone tested this against the OLED's 4k support on the oled dock? im thinking of buying the normal switch since in australia its almost 150$ cheaper than the OLED
If you are mainly planning on using it connected to a tv, buy the regular. Its cheaper. Though, if not, I'd highly recommend going with the latter oled.
I have this thing on a PC. Nobody is talking about the pc side at all. This is the easiest method possible to play pc games in full blown 4k 60fps. The product itself says 1080p to 4k but that's not true. The minimum resolution is really 900p 60fps which still counts as 1080p because your TV will automatically scale 900p to 1080p. So the PC side, these resolution will work. 900p, 990p, and 1080p maximum quality. All resolution 60fps only. Cheapest 4k 60fps rig that doesn't require a strong GPU. Sadly many won't discover this because the product is only advertised on Nintendo switch and people will buy $2000 GPU for nothing 😅 Sad reality, I'm super happy tho 😅
Yeah i use it for the steamdeck dock or my rog ally also but i have the mclassic first then then this one. Only problem is you will not get vrr or HDR features
That's because you dont need this device for PC, every AMD / NVIDIA card has upscaling that can be configured in the software, so it's free, higher quality and has a much lower latency.
If you know how to configure well the game settings, along with DLSS, you get better results basically for free. But I gotta say in Switch it gave quite good results.
I can Tolerate a 1080p display on my 4k TV, but after you play the PS5 for a while with all the sweet bells and whistles and then go to the the Switch, the blur is pretty noticeable, enough to mess with my eyes sometimes. This makes me hope there will one day be a new resolution boost feature or a more powerful Switch down the line that can handle native 4k along with more oomf to better handle more demanding games like NieR: Automata.
My Switch OLED + 4K tv looks closer to the “4K” version in this video, so I’m hesitant to drop 140 dollars on something that might not even make a difference. I do agree with others who’ve said 60fps is more important than 4K, but I do wish these games were at a higher resolution natively.
When I try to capture gameplay with the elgato 4k60 s+, using the gamer+ gives me a totally oversaturated image in the recording, although on screen it looks great. Anybody know a solution for this?

Tbh 1080p is better, this isn’t true 4K, they just made it it look sharper LOL. You can’t just make a console 4K with a USB port that’s not how it works. It just made it sharper which may show more details but it’s still kinda ugly.
I am 56 years old. As I watched the screen adjust from 1080 P to 4K at the beginning of video I literally couldn’t tell a difference. Yeah old eyes I just save money.
