    Wild. Absolutely wild.
    If you'd told me that these two personality types would one day sit down & have a conversation that was not only entertaining but respectful I wouldn't believe it.
    I think Theo is the defining factor here. If it wasn't Theo it wouldn't work

      In my opinion this is proof that Theo van plays a character, Mr Mean wouldn’t go on any podcast. Jordan the peter son and van of Theo is a different dimension event. But I think it shows how smart and knowledgeable Theo is. I’m wondering how many jokes went over my head now. Like Imagine people hate Dave’s holy chapel and love Theo van AKA the way back back woods boy. This really should be a wonder of the world

    This is the problem with being a philosopher in a dogmatic ideolog world. I also believe there is a time and place to be seen as a “mean” person. For me, I’m very upfront and honest. Never in a mal-intentioned way, but people will still think I’m “mean” for pointing out the obvious, because it’s not that toxic positivity everyone acts like should be the norm (while contradicting it themselves).
    For example, if your friend meets someone and says they’re getting engaged a month later (an example because I’ve been here) - the majority of people will go “wow! I guess when you know you know!”, but me, I think as a true friend I SHOULD say “I have to tell you that I think this is a really naive and negligent decision. Consider all these factors: blablabla”. People think THAT is mean. It’s also because I’m a woman. I hate that most other women cannot handle truth/directness in the way that men can. It’s a very different experience for me having male friends. I feel like they invite brutal honesty while my female friends not only do not want it, they can’t handle it.

    • @EweCantHandletheTruth
      @EweCantHandletheTruth 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s not so much we invite brutal honesty, it’s more that we operate rationally and logically(a majority of us anyway). In the example of a friend getting engaged after a month, it’s not that you’re unhappy for them. You’re just offering up a pov that “hey, that’s a serious commitment with A LOT of strings attached. Maybe spend at least a few more months together so you’re sure you’re doing the right thing! That you’re compatible. That you can co-exist in the same home together…etc etc etc.” If that’s “mean”, then I guess we’re both “mean”. Wanting the best outcome for people you know often comes with words they might not agree with. That’s not being mean, that’s offering them a perspective they might be oblivious to.

      What most call being or rude these days is someone being brutally honest. People only want to here good things about themselves not the realities of their poor decisions

    The funny thing is, he's a total sweetheart. It's only after people figuratively back him into a corner in order to bully and terrorize the holy hell out of him that even he gets "aggressive" at all!
    And really, Jordan at his most aggressive is really just snarky.
    The people who do this are manipulative psychos who literally just use him (or, rather, their concocted version of "him") to further their insane BS. Most of which is all about grifting people into giving them a pass for some really toxic behavior.
    Those who blindly believe them about Jordan are idiots. And I don't say that from a smug POV. I once was one of those idiots (many years ago. Probably 2014? When was all that Gamergate nonsense? It was around then). I, at first, believed a lot of the crazy 💩 people used to say about him, just at first. But they kept on about him so much I was like, "Wow. What is UP with this dude? He must be a total monster. They can't stop talking about this guy. I gotta see this for myself." Went to his YT channel... And found a very reasonable man that I disagreed with perhaps 15% of the time. Which is just... normal? Like, who agrees with someone all the time?! And what I disagreed with him about was like a 3 on a 1-10 scale. Like, "Oh, I guess I don't agree totally on that, but, no hard feelings?"
    Between that and the absolute mess of Gamergate (I basically agreed with the gamers, but didn't like the whole doxxing thing) I just decided I didn't like where Feminism had ended up. It just had morphed into this unrecognizable thing that I found disgusting.
    Unfortunately, I didn't take that opportunity to look into MORE of the wackadoo 💩 the left was pushing. It took a few more years for me to realize it wasn't just the psycho "feminists" (who turned out to NOT even be feminists after all?! 😂) that were grifting on that side.
    I wish I could go back and tell myself that this was a sign that EVERYTHING I thought was true was actually backwards.

      Is the right side of history letting women in prison get pregnant and having babies taken to be raised by the state? Because that's not a hypothetical, it's happening now. Two women in one prison are pregnant from their fellow "woman" inmate that was placed behind bars with them.
