Lol their teammate can draw a knife from their sock and stab an opponent right in the referees face and they would still act like a red card is an outrage. That's just how their minds work a lot of the time.
I can understand it. Griezmann didn't see Firmino and only looked at the ball. It probably didn't look that horrible in real time. But even Griezmann admitted that it was a red afterwards so it was just in the heat of the moment

Two footed challenge
As a straight red I completely agree, but it was a second yellow. Hitting the ball is irrelevant to something being a foul or reckless, and you can certainly argue this was a reckless challenge deserving of a yellow (at least a verbal warning, if the ref wanted to keep it low). In this case he had been booked only a couple of minutes earlier and the ref wasn't feeling lenient.

he didn't go for the ball, he was the player in possession. He touched it last. If anything, the Cadiz player should have been booked for being late. Good acting to get him sent off though
@@DocTommy1972 possession doesn't work that way, and even if it did it's literally irrelevant to the rules who is in possession. It flat out doesn't exist except when a goalkeeper is controlling the ball with his hands - at any other point the ball is not in possession of anyone by the rules and in every tackle both players are deemed to be challenging for the ball.
last one against harvey elliot was heartbreaking when i was watching the game :( so glad hes back on the pitch
Laporte and Konsa got a red card for stopping a clear goal scoring opportunity, yet Evans did the exact same thing to Auba and was given a yellow. Either you give nothing but yellow cards to each of them or you send all of them off. Consistency is all I ask for.
The one against Konsa was a blatant dive.
He was going to throw himself round but felt no contact, so just went down.

This is one of the reasons I LOVE the VAR... No more sneaky punches or whatever, there is no escape. If it's an action deserving a red card it will be called out.

He didn't; he got a second yellow for a reckless tackle. This is borderline for a yellow but not absolutely ridiculous (it certainly fits the written definition for one, albeit only just, and whether he hits the ball or not is irrelevant).
