Just purchased my first bait caster, Daiwa Lexa TW400 - P, took 1 hour to get used to it, and I love it!, the drag on this thing is amazing!. Paired it with a Seeker Tactic series 8' jig stick, match made in Heaven!. The 28 pound drag beats all 3 of my Penn fathoms 30 pound drags, Penn exaggerates the 30 pounds.
IMHO, Daiwa makes the best rods, reels and tackle including lures. They're insane some of the Australian and Japanese Market stuff is beyond amazing. A Saltiga Dogfight spinning reel has 66 lbs of drag. 66, try to imagine how much that is

I just bought the Coastal SV TW and I’m liking it so far.
i purchased the lexa tw 300 2 weeks ago. i couldn't believe how light it is. the stopping power and smooth drag. compared to my hd 300 night and day. to pay $350 for more cast , heavier baits and not wearing my arm out. love this reel
Dude same thing with me, I have the 400 and it's literally as heavy as my lexa 300hd. Way lighter than the komodo 471p I used to have. Absolutely beautiful reel too, unbelievable how far it casts. Definitely worth the price. Love it
I wish they release daiwa Lexa 500 because currently right now tranx have no competition for 500 size. Hopefully they release a new Shimano tranx 500 it's too old already 10 years now!

Yes it does, its got a support bearing in the main gear shaft which was unexpected.

The "T-Wing" Level wind needs a little bit of play to move in and out properly and it is well supported under load. Ive beat the crap out of my lexa 400tw for the past 10 months and its still working nearly like new. They are beastly little reels. Caught more than 600lbs of fish on it and had more than 1500 yards ripped off at 6-15lbs of drag.
just buy the tatula 300/400 and put your own handle on it and save 100$ + lol
also that thumb clutch without using the handle thing MANY other reels do, i got a alijoz that does that. my scorpion dc does it as well as many others ive had. that is not diawa exclusive that is almost just baitcaster exclusive lol
the lexa has better internals than the tatula lol.
@@fieshyfishyou're wrong. Lol Lexa suck compared to a few others like tranx and tatula.. If you're talking avout the Lexa tw it's the same as the big tatulas. They have stainless pinion gear with hyperdrive and also pinion bearing support which Lexa don't have. The only thing they do better is weigh more and feel rough when cranking.

It shouldn’t have won, it wasn’t technically released at icast. It would’ve been more fair if the lexa or new Tatula won but not the Zillion.

Imo tatula has nothing on these lexas, I've only seen problems with the tatula so far and people use em for swimbaits.
I feel same. A tatula with a nee handle. And there be people claiming that the lexas is a whole different reel. Like really are people really that dumb. XD. Crack open tons of daiwas and they all the same inside.
Not sure how anyone can say the lexa is much better than the tatula. FyI the Tatula TW 300/400 is the exact same reel. It has a double handle and one less bearing. The Tatula is 7+1 (2CRBB 5 bb 1RB) Lexa 8+1 [8 CRBB + 1 RB) it also cost $100 less. So the only core diff is 1 xtra bearing and they upgrade 5 bearings to sealed. There is ZERO new tech or anything that makes the reel faster stronger etc. If you service your reel as you should the bearings make zero dif. You could easily upgrade them to high end hedgehog top bearings for the price difference. Further the Tatula tw 300/400 have the top of the line hyper drive gear cut lexa has no mention of this. But the drag is the same the SS pinion bronze main gear is the same. So only dif us 1vbearing and sealed bearings for the 5 bearings.
What everyone has been wanting from Daiwa in the Saltwater world is a low pro BC to compete with the Tranx 500. A teanx killer. If they built a Lexa 500 HD TW with the all SS gear set of the HD and the T wing of the TW Lexa plus the extra bearings they would decimate Tranx 500 sales from Shimano. It would have stronger gears, better line control from the twing. Stronger drag. Way way better brake system. Better clutch system. Sell it under $600 lots of boat guys and surf guts and muskie pike etc would be all over it.

Well diawa is guna kill itself on the saltwater game with that reel.......you cant run top shot on that reel....looks cool would be good for fishing swimbaits with straight fluro
Why exactly can't you run top shot which is nothing more than mono leader that is long enough to end up on the spool. You also have shock leader has the same effec if any level wind can use top shot or shock leader lengths it's a t-wing so it has a much larger opening on cast. If your top shot or even just leader your still using a FG PR YUCATAN KNOT there is no reason it will not pass thru. It's not as if with these reel size 300-400 series you are running 70 or 80lb mono TS. You would not have the capacity. T
You are looking at 40lb braid 30lb top shot. Even the 400 has a max line capacity of 235yds 50lb j-braid. So your running what 150 50lb main with 50yd of 40lb mono TS? What's the point a Yft could spool that. But no mater if you ran a long leader that pasted the knot to the spool it would pass fine using these knits which are the go to most people use.

@@aksuited8529 Stop bullshitting. The t wing fares downwards and opens wider than any other level wind guide. I have a lexa 400tw and ive casted 60-100lb short mono and floro leaders with it. It doesn't even touch the guide most of the time. LMAO. Real question is do YOU have a TW reel???
You can def run a top shot, I have but in reality not sure why you would. Just run a short leader, mono or fluoro, i used 10 ft leaders so i can trim off through out the day or retie on lures. no problem. Use this way for casting surface irons, yoyo fishing, even flylining live bait. If you do want a top shot like 25 ft, need use a FG Knot for sure, must be tied right and tight.
