One of the biggest components to being rich is time. I have a family member who is a doctor and has a good salary but he was complaining to me that he wanted to have a large amount of capital. He said some of his doctor friends talk about weekend trips to New York City, something he has never done. He said in the past he borrowed money to invest in things like forex and he lost a lot of money and ended up in debt. I told he need to be patient and perhaps not make speculative investments.

If you have £900,000 at 7%. That's more interest than annual earnings at £60,000. So you are doing good. And state pension will more than top that up. I have a lot less than this and plan to have a great retirement and a good life now 😊
