What a charming and lovely song! Incidentally, this is why all my socks are identical - no sock left behind (though the bin comes for us all in the end)!
@@jtsteam 🤣 I've accepted odd socks, first only at home. I now wear my odd sock in sandals in winter when I'm out shopping or on the school run, and nobody cares!
Beautifully crafted little ditty about an oh so common problem Edwin, we can all relate! 😂 I tend to wear odd socks now, that way you can welcome the ones that got left behind back into the fold.
Cheers! I can't quite bring myself to do that.. I have a colleage who does all the time, except a few months ago one of his daughters got fed up and paired them all for him so he wore pairs for a while.
I love how you can take a simple idea and make a gem of a song Edwin. For many years I owned only red socks to avoid having lonely mismatched hosiery, but Red ones are getyting very hard to find these days. All of my banjos have a red sock rolled up inside them for a mute. These socks are clean, but all have holes in them.
😂😂😂 brilliantly sad and so clever and funny!!! I always thought you wear mismatched socks, Edwin.😊 Er..a good job for that solitary sock at the back of the drawer is, (well, for me,) to be a wind muffler for a microphone! This makes me smile. You are a wonderful songwriter. Thank you for this. I love it.
Loved it. Sad and silly. Should have seen the punchline coming but you got me with the serious, melancholy start. Sits nicely between a serious metaphor and a light-hearted song.
Got me too! I went back for a 2nd listen, to catch all the cleverness. I will say... check between the washing and dryer. I also remember an old cartoon (I think maybe Ren and Stimpy) where there was some sort of world of lost left socks. 😅

Cheers! I have tried the "all identical socks" trick but then it bothers me when they fade at different rates.

Cheers :). Good to know that old socks and odd socks can find a good home!

Cheers :). I'm quite particular about my socks, I need them to be matched or I'm uncomfortable. I'm pretty disorganised about everything else though.

Thanks! I was hoping it wouldn't be too obvious what it was about until later.

Sad story and super song!
Thanks!
