Good tutorial, replaced both speakers in my mid-2015 Macbook Pro Retina in ~ 1hr. When he says to mind the different sizes of screws, pay attention. Spent too much time trying to sort the correct ones out (though for the most part it's obvious if it's the wrong length). I always find it handy to have a magnetic mat, take pictures for later reference if needed, and post-it notes for labeling and easy identification. Thanks for the video!
Gave my old MacBook Pro to my Dad and we decided to take this job on. The tutorial was great! Thanks for making it! Job took us maybe an hour and half, but we took our time and double checked everything. If you are considering it I say go for it!
Thank you sir! I succeeded! probably I mixed the screws, I lost track of their position after a while, but doesn't really matter. You saved my Macbook!
Thank you so much! Just replaced the speakers and everything is alright. I wouldn't have done that without the videotutorial, there are so many hacks I wouldn't have found myself. My full story: My MacBook Pro 15 didn't boot at all, it said there was no hard drive. I took it to the Apple service and they told me such an old machine would not be worth repairing. So I googled a bit and found a shop where I could buy a new compatible SSD. I took the risk and ordered one. When it arrived, I used a similar videotutorial for the SSD replacement (incomparably easier than this one). And guess what? Success! I was able to reinstall the old Mac and it's like new again - except for the speakers that I knew had been broken, too. So when I knew that it booted again, I ordered brand new speakers and used this tutorial to replace them. I was a little bit nervous about disconnecting and reconnecting all the tiny connectors, but it went so smoothly! So, for some $150 I have a functional Mac, almost like a new one, which they would have dumped in the service.
Good job! I replaced both speakers and both fans on my wife's MacBook while following your step-by-step instructions. Everything is working perfectly now. Thanks a lot!
Fantastic video. I watched it a few times. Was a little anxious to try since I'd never opened my computer. I followed it very closely and I'm so happy. New speakers are working. And I only have one screw left!!! LOL. Thanks so much.
Thank you for creating this tutorial, I followed it to replace a buzzing left-side speaker on my MBP 1398, and I now have decent stereo sound again plus some knowledge of the internal architecture of my laptop which otherwise I would not have gained. Keep up the good work!
Great tutorial! Thank you so much! I was able to follow along and replace my speakers in 30 min. This was significantly easier to follow along than Ifixit's photo tutorial.
Hello and thanks for the video . I have a question because my computer is no longer starting after the speakers changing 😢 . Do you have something to say for helping me?
Thank bro.. your tutorial really helped to replace my mac pro speakers... God Bless you.. This good deed of yours.. will pay you in the life hereafter..
Fantastic video. I had never even opened the back of my macbookbefore this . Following your video, I was able to change both speakers easily. It took me longer than the video since I labeled all the parts and segregated the different screw sizes to keep track of what went where. Thanks for making this video and other repair videos!
Good video, it was spot on . I replaced my blown speakers today, while it took me longer than the video, only because I had to keep rewinding do to interruptions. Thanks a lot for your help . 😅
This process is correct, I just changed my speakers with no previous experience opening 2015 MacBook Pro. my only recommendation if you are doing this is be gentle on pulling out and putting back in the wires, I almost ripped one out. Thank you for posting this!!
The process shown is indeed correct and recommended in that it minimizes the chances of damage to cables and logic board connectors. However it is possible to replace the left speaker (from the point of view of the logic board) without going through the majority of the process. I did this on my mid 2012 A1398 Macbook Pro by disconnecting the battery and removing its two connecting screws, removing the SSD, lifting the 3 connectors to the wifi card, undoing the two connectors that secure the flat ribbon cable passing over the left cpu fan, removing the 3 screws from the left cpu fan and tilting it up carefully (without removing its connections) to access the i/o card. I then removed the plastic connector from the i/o card, removed its 2 screws and lifted it carefully out without removing its connections in order to access the speaker. i then removed the leftmost screw from the logic board, allowing me to carefully liberate the speaker and its cable after removing its 3 screws. I then installed the new left speaker and performed the removal steps in reverse. I should make clear that this "short cut" is not for the fainthearted or those averse to risk and I am not recommending it. You can very easily damage the cables and/or logic board connectors and then you will be in a world of pain 🤕. I guess I like living dangerously.
Hello, ur Tutorial really helped me, but now my screen doesn’t turn on. Trying to figure it out what happen. But I think it’s due to the small connector
Good morning, thank you very much for your tutorial which helped me a lot for the change of the left speaker of my computer, it took me 1 hs30 to 2 hs00, because I had to reopen the mac I had only the sound not the image, the problem came from the cable cable cable cable LCD, There was bad contact, when reassembly a tab had bent, I may have to replace it later the complete cable LCD. Now the Mac.B.P works fine. Thank you
5:55 my webcam connector was really stiff so I left it in place, I was able to complete the repair with the cable connected. Thanks for the great tutorial. I wouldn't have attempted replacing my speakers without.
Your tutorial on replacing the speakers on my Mac Book is fantastic. Very well explained. I only had one problem and it was my fault. Somehow while removing the right speaker connector I bent the small pins to the side. When I attempted to straighten the pins they instantly broke off the board. I have a friend who works with circuit board repair and we are going to solder 4 fine wires to the original pin solder points and then splice these wires to the speaker wires individually. Other than that, it was a challenging (for me) but successful repair. Thank you very much!!!
Thank you for the tutorial! I was able to replace the speakers and the left speaker works great but the right speaker has no sound. During the replacement, I think a little of the rubber part of the old speaker got stuck and I scraped it off with my fingers. Perhaps that was the cause? How do I remedy this? Thank you.
Great tutorial, very clear. I replaced both my speakers, and they now work perfectly. I encountered one problem that maybe you can advise me about? The right-side USB port now seems to have an issue. I can connect a USB stick and transfer files etc to / from it no problem, but my wired QWERTY will not work on that port. The green power light on the QWERTY comes on, but the keys don't function. If I don't touch a key for maybe 30 seconds the green light goes out. The QWERTY works perfectly on the left-side USB port. The right-side port worked perfectly before I replaced the speakers. After I realised this port had an issue I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the connectors on that particular board. No luck. So basically the right-side USB port now seems to work for some peripherals but not others. Any thoughts what it could be? Thank you.
Thank you! Two cover plate screws are smaller and go on one long side. That and assembling in a different order messed me up because I had all screws in order, but SUPER vid anyways! Success!
Thanks for sharing the video. I tried to replace both speakers by your video, doing it step by step and finally replaced in my A1398. It really helpful, thank you again.
you should demo them working after you put them in (other than that pretty good video) Also, do you know of anyone that makes actual upgraded speakers?
Hello! Great tutorial! I have question about the speakers. Are all the speakers for the MacBook Pro 15 inch, from mid 2012 to 2015, the same? I ask this, because I am seeing listings on Ebay for various years in between, but the speakers look identical to me. I'm just trying to make sure that I get the right speakers for my late 2013 MacBook Pro. Thanks again for the help!

Hi, nice tutorial! In which links the replacement you bought for this video? I’ve look closely that the replacement that you bought looks like the genuine one which is I assume it’s the amazon one, and i was wondering how’s the quality of the sound? Thanks
Thank you I did the replacement following your instruction, it is ok but the quality of the sound is not good. Could you please recommend me some good speakers, it is not easy to chose the good one on Amazon, Ebay... etc. Apparently my first choice was not so good...
I successfully replace both speakers on my late 2013 MacBook Pro, so many thanks for the video! I do however now have an issue with the bluetooth in that the laptop no longer connects to my speaker or headphones. Maybe I missed a cable somewhere or maybe I broke something. I'll have to open it up again and take a look but do you have any advice as to where I should look?
If I need to replace only the right speaker, do I also need to remove the motherboard? It kinda looks like the fan and I/O board should be enough, am I right?
Great tutorial. I did exactly as you said, but the laptop won't start. Need help. // When you make your presentation video, please remove your hands so I can see exactly where you are working so that I can keep up with you. It is hard to locate exactly where you are.
I was going to replace my speakers myself until I saw this. Uh…yea, I’m just going to move balance to the working side. Once he said that if you snap a wire that could result in having to replace the screen…I knew I was out.

Is it possible to make graphic card upgrade for the same model?

You still need to move slightly on the motherboard to get underneath right speaker cable.
Excellent

Lmao both of my speakers are trashed so I’m taking the risk. It looks like it’s only one clip that’s easy to avoid breaking
my speaker isnt blown, just purely fat, no bass , it is worse than my macbook air 2012 ,
