- Final Fantasy Legend 3 / SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha is like a boxing glove because it has no grip on reality and RPG fans may relate

This is my favorite story of the trilogy and IMO the changes in gameplay were a good thing because there weren't many turn based JRPGs on the Gameboy in the US. I honestly have trouble thinking of any others that use a typical for the era battle system and a typical for the era leveling system. Great Greed had a unique but fun battle system while the earlier games in the Saga/Final Fantasy Legend series had a more normal battle system but unique stat growth systems.
For a Game Boy game from 1993, it has a god-tier soundtrack.

Im playing through the gb trilogy now and i recommend a guide, but they are fun games im really enjoying them

There is always enough justification to name characters after Polnareff
The first three saga games are so much better than the romancing saga games.
To me ff mystic quest is the 4th game in the saga series. There are so many similarities.
I wanna see you do the Romancing SaGa trilogy.
I think polnareff is just that character's name in the jp version in general?
I honestly can't explain it, but three just seems wrong to me. First game felt like it was learning, second game felt like it had it right, third... *shrug* it just ... fell flat for me.
Dude Fr. 2 was awesome but seemed way too linear in a way 1 wasn’t if that makes sense. 1 has my heart. So much fun. Just beat 2 for the first time and as fun as it was I don’t see myself playing it again ANYtime soon. Whereas 1 Which I just beat 2 times back to back because it was so fun, I’m probably going to play again rn… lol. Seeing now the difference of 3 I think I’ll pass. 2 was tedious as FUCK and 3 looks even worse in that aspect
Legend 3 felt more like a final fantasy game than a saga game tbh
if that is how you feel why dont you try the champions of time and space remake for DS? its a lot more "SaGa" like and they added a crapton of stuff too
Knowing there's just "more" in the remake gives me a bit of hope about it... odd that they didn't use that version in the steam release bundle?

I think they really kicked ass with this game.. i also do the same with final fantasy 3, i use the names from the chara in the DS remake..
Just beat it today and 3 is easily the best one. Coincidentally also the easy one.

i think they could have upped the difficulty by stacking enemies like the previous games did.

Why would I play this game over Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Mana series etc?
This game was pleasant and easy and a decent time killer, until i met the last boss.
Id built me a party worthy of making it to the end boss, but not to beat it.
At the time, i had other games, so it was easy to let my cowardice go. Zelda links awakening, metroid 2, and eventually the oracles games and others. Pokemon red. Final fantasy adventure. Etc.
It was a fun romp, no lie. But it simply wasnt worth it to try to rework my strategy for just one monster...it wasnt that great. Definitely not worth a replay to get it right. It was fun until the last boss...but typical simple rpg fun...throwaway game. Just like the other two. Fun for me, but...due to the aspects that any rpg has, making this incredibly average...and mostly forgettable.
