I can't express how glad I am to finally find a top ten list that does NOT include the Anarchy even in the honorable mentions. I really appreciate that. It takes way too much setup and commitment to get any kind of damage out of the thing.
I tested the Beacon vs the Hellshock on Graveward and I used my Flak Fade Away build. The Beacon and the Hellshock were near identical and both were fire and had a almost similar anointments (The Beacon had a 200% while action skill is active and the Hellshock had a 100% extra dmg while Fade Away). The Hellshock still outperformed the Beacon, but slightly. For reference, the last test I did, The Hellshock required about 1.9 mags to kill the Ward and the Beacon required about 2.0 to 2.1 mags to kill the Ward. In my opinion, I still kind of prefer the Hellshock XD But the Beacon does deal splash, has a nova effect and has more variety, but for me, the Hellshock is more specialised and easy to use (aside from the recoil).
Yeah, I prefer Plaguebearer to Backburner also. Easier farm, and unlike BB, mobs don't have to be grouped to be taken out en masse. Both are awesome, though.
The hellwalker is an amazing gun for zane because his accuracy boost and reload spread makes it basically an infinity pistol meets sniper rifle meets too powerful of a shotgun. I also don't get how the breath of dying is never on these lists.
*I've been stuck with the Hellwalker on Amara for ages.* I can't find anything even remotely better. I might switch to Hellshock on rare occasion for the shield melt and super quick sustained damage melt (rather than Hellwalker's burst damage) but other than that, I just end up selling everything. The game actually became boring with it. Got it before I ended my first playthrough so I'd just... run circles around Troy and God Queen Tyreen to see what they could do and then 2 shot them (basically). Bumped straight up to Mayhem 10... got my ass handed to me and changed my build lol. (Was using a custom melee build that let me oneshot melee everything, too.) Even mayhem 6 is too easy with this gun... Couldn't even find a better Mayhem 10 weapon after a day of farming randoms with lootsplosion and an artifact that gave +15% luck. *But to think that it's 2x as good on Zane? I'm shook.*
@@HeritageDrPepper the luck doesn't effect legendary drops, and if you are not playing a meelee amara facepuncher build you are missing out. The hellwalker is great for zane because he has an ability to stack accuracy turning it into a sniper rifle and his reload spread makes it like an infinity pistol.
@@cesaresaladandthespicycrou4080 I was doing a melee build because melee builds are always my favorite but I never look at guides until I'm done with my first playthrough so I'm only just now learning about the Face-puncher gun (stupid wrist pain kept me from playing for months). I had to switch to the Ties That Bind build after shooting myself immediately into M10. It's pretty cool, actually, and a nice change of pace if a bit boring. However I do still plan to go back to the melee build once I get the Face-puncher because yeeeeeesss it sounds so eppiiicccc! Also, about the Luck stat, that is actually the only thing it stat does. Every site says the same thing: "...the Luck stat will increase your chances of getting rare, very rare, and legendary drops during the game. The higher your Luck stat, the better chance you have of getting very rare and legendary drops." Though I admit that 15% doesn't do a lot, it certainly did.. well, a lot. I noticed the difference the second I switched it for a different artifact. No longer am I getting 3 legs per chest and 10 per mob but suddenly back to getting whites, greens, and occasionally a blue (for chests) and 2-3 purp/1 leg per mob. Seriously. My drops are so lame, now.
@@HeritageDrPepper gotcha yea I wouldn't worry too much about the builds and stuff till you are 65 now. The amara melee builds are insane though. Look for the brawler ward shield and the white elephant relic.
Zane is absolutely beast with the hellwalker and would even say he is the best with it. Hellwalker with shoulder cannon with the No Way Out augment is too satisfying. Plus, you can literally pretend to be the Doom Slayer with Zane's shoulder cannon and hellwalker lol.

And I'm here, a layman, running around with koos, soulrender(?) and hellwalker on mayhem 1. Speaking of hellwalker, I had 6, most of them in world drops. Two of them from blastplains.

@@FernandoPerez-us1rp and bl2 isnt. i mean the best weapons in bl2 are locked behind dlc grog nozzle the pimpernel the sandhawk the norfleet the magic missile lightning bolt. dont get me wrong there is still some base weapons in bl2 that are apart of the meta.
I personally like the star helix better than the monarch because im using a Zane build that gets the best damage out of higher movement speed and since you get the best damage of the monarch while in bipod mode, it’s not the best mix. Plus, since the star helix shoots 3 horizontal bullets, it’s easier for my to hit my shots at high speed but the light show is still my main weapon but before I had dlc 3 I was use the star helix
Yeah and with the spiritual driver set up melee build ... It buffs the grenades by alot ... I tried the forth tree but its mostly based on getting that first kill b4 rediculse damage so bosses that don't spawn alot of minions can be a real pain.... I've been playing with it this last week and ase sheild with a its piss with a ase with driver procking and a knifedrain elephant and a redundant face puncher with a phase flare anoint ive dropped everything stupidly quickly on m10 ... Ik not much of a bragging point j.s I feel this combo gets the biggest dmg out put with the driver classmod
Recently got back into it, Jesus! Amaras new tree is crazy! Got it blended with with green tree, as part of a facepuncher build. Got an artifact for making melee cryo.. absolutely horrendous amounts of damage!
can anyone tell me why SGZ is melting enemies on mayhem 10, but when I'm on max level mayhem 10 with mayhem 10 guns i cant? Ive looked up all the best zane builds but still cant compete properly
play on m11 instead of 10, modifiers suck. also anointments are needed at mayhem 10-11. if you don't have the right anointments its game over. if you do have the right anointments then it would have to be your classmod, artifact and or skill tree
I only just unlocked Mayhem Mode yesterday so forgive the inquiry but, I thought Mayhem 11 was a less difficult version of Mayhem 10 since it doesn't have modifiers and provides half the rewards. Am I wrong?
I found that the Plasma Coil and the Flipper are the best weapons in the game for a splash damage Moze, using the consecutive hits anointment. Even better sustained DPS than a Monarch or Lightshow in my testing, because I never have to reload thanks to their large magazine sizes.
I feel as if 2 weapons in particular are always overlooked on weapons lists. BOTD, which has been mentioned before... and the Kaos. The Amara Phaseflare build is pretty damn OP for mobbing. The impact damage of the orb stacks with each kill while action skill is active, meaning if you throw it and clean up trash you can throw it around 1-shotting 3-bars and anointed. 200% damage while action skill is active mixed with bonus elemental damage after action skill means you will always be pumping out insane elemental DPS. Currently I run the Light Show, BOTD, Kaos, and a nasty 200% Kyb's I found last week (haven't touched DLC 3-4 since I returned to BL3 just recently). Easily running Mayhem 10 with (I forgot the name of it, the Initiative shield?) the shield with 0 capacity and reload/damage while shields are depleted. Cryo build FTW :D. And that's with an outdated Golden Rule that I'm looking to replace with a Cryo Victory Rush. Edit: And just for fun... throw on a 200% while action skill is active Lucian's Call and watch the Orb lose it's f*cking mind lmao...
I love the way the lightshow feels. However, it doesn’t do splash damage for my Moz build! Can I can make up for it with a blast master class mod or perhaps the +36% splash I have on my minesweeper card? Or do these splash increases only apply if there is initial splash damage which the lightshow does not have (maybe with the exception of minesweeper grenades which I think do splash)? Regardless, will short fuse use the splash in blast master even if the initial shot did not? Should I just stick with the flipper?
if you want a splash pistol, use the beacon or the miscreant. The Hornet/Nemesis also does splash damage, but the damage overall isn't outrage-ish. The only other ones are torgue pistols, but the base game pistols aren't worth writing home about.
They really need to bump levels at least one more time. Up to 72 I think. With the additional skill tree for each character there is plenty of room to grow your character without completely filling all skill trees.
Been playing bl3 fresh since it came out and got a 65 plasma coil. That made my mayhem 10 go from being reliant to my iron bear. To never needing another gun again.
Watching this makes me sad. I am a precision weapon fan. Sniper rifles and hand cannon style weapons. It looks like they have definitely gone a different direction with this series. It looks like it’s pretty much spray and pray. Big, flashy explosions, and low skill.
Yea to use those types of weapons you have to be in like mayhem 4 or 5 and below, past that you really have to narrow down your character to do one thing extremely well and those types of weapons just don’t deal high enough damage in end game and higher mayhem levels
I wish you'd show mayhem 10 footage. I got that shotgun on mayhem 10. And all though it deals more single damage than any of my guns, it still barely shaves 10% off regular mobs with every blast. My spider does more damage than any of my guns.
On your Amara what did you have on to make the face punched do those Nova's around the guys you shot? Was it the annoit on the gun or like an artifact?
My favourite legendary is 'Breath of the Dying'. It's like dropping a 360 degree claymore corrosive mine in the middle of mobs... Second is none other than the Maggie.
Just got my first couple of lightshows today and its not accurate like the ine you are showing, especially when im not aiming down. Does it has to have a specific accesory?
OK I haven't played this game since the last season pass came out and I also have only played with Zane. That being said why does no one ever mention the Kaos gun as one of the best weapons? Its damage is insanely high and unlike the Monarch it is very accurate from any distance. Its magazine size isn't that big, but the Kaos rifles I use have an anointment that reloads the gun every time I swap with my clone so I NEVER reload! If that wasn't enough the gun has a chain explosion effect when you kill an enemy. The Kaos rifle and the Light Show are my 2 go to weapons in this game for almost any situation.
i think people ignore it because it wasnt in the past meta weapons so they just ignore it. they must think oh it use to be awful and there is no way to save it so they never bother with the gun
Most guns in Vanilla are kinda weak compared to DLC alternatives, I'm sure if they went unnerfed the King/Queen calls would've been in here due to being cracked on Fl4k
Can anyone offer advice... I'm level 65 and playing mayhem 6 (base game). I seem to be getting very few decent drops. I've got a few mayhem 6 guns like hellshock, hellwalker, Krakatoa but as soon as I increase mayhem level I can't kill anything! Also struggling against pretty much every bosses on mayhem 6. Should I just keep playing and hope for better guns?
Grave ward is an easier boss who drops a crap tone of loot, I would farm him till you get a good gun ex) one of the non dlc guns on this list. You have a hell walker, that should be able to kill him.
It's like half the weapons on here are best when used with Moze. Is the game just so skewed towards her having the best synergies or is this video's creator simply a Moze guy? Would be nice to see some prime choices for other characters as well, you know.
i have no. 10 like 5 times. i have it with 26k fire damage and 32k x7 normal damage. graveward is so easy after you made 1/3 damage. for me its the best weapon n the entire game.
@@FireBurn256 you don't have to change anything just change your shield you can still use seeing dead it can be used with any Zane build but a mantis cannon will allow you to freeze more often
Underrated gun. The corrosive blast the comes out after each kill is but. Definitely a fun gun to use. I did manage to get a hell walker by luck and it's hilarious to one shot every enemy you encounter.

can anyone tell me why SGZ is melting enemies on mayhem 10, but when I'm on max level mayhem 10 with mayhem 10 guns i cant? Ive looked up all the best zane builds but still cant compete properly
play on m11 instead of 10, modifiers suck. also anointments are needed at mayhem 10-11. if you don't have the right anointments its game over. if you do have the right anointments then it would have to be your classmod, artifact and or skill tree

Really really good with all the kill skills the Infinity hits so hard feels Like you have the bee shield on
Not the highest damage but its definitely one of the most fun, I run it on Zane, not reloading helps keep kill skills up way longer.
Definitely good in a pinch if you find yourself in an extended firefighter

I have discovered Lightshow about 3 weeks agos. I destroyed mayem 11 with only this gun (fire elem) nasty af
I only just unlocked Mayhem Mode yesterday so forgive the inquiry but, I thought Mayhem 11 was a less difficult version of Mayhem 10 since it doesn't have modifiers and provides half the rewards. Am I wrong?

I found that the Plasma Coil and the Flipper are the best weapons in the game for a splash damage Moze, using the consecutive hits anointment. Even better sustained DPS than a Monarch or Lightshow in my testing, because I never have to reload thanks to their large magazine sizes.
I feel as if 2 weapons in particular are always overlooked on weapons lists.
BOTD, which has been mentioned before... and the Kaos.
The Amara Phaseflare build is pretty damn OP for mobbing. The impact damage of the orb stacks with each kill while action skill is active, meaning if you throw it and clean up trash you can throw it around 1-shotting 3-bars and anointed. 200% damage while action skill is active mixed with bonus elemental damage after action skill means you will always be pumping out insane elemental DPS. Currently I run the Light Show, BOTD, Kaos, and a nasty 200% Kyb's I found last week (haven't touched DLC 3-4 since I returned to BL3 just recently). Easily running Mayhem 10 with (I forgot the name of it, the Initiative shield?) the shield with 0 capacity and reload/damage while shields are depleted. Cryo build FTW :D. And that's with an outdated Golden Rule that I'm looking to replace with a Cryo Victory Rush.
Edit: And just for fun... throw on a 200% while action skill is active Lucian's Call and watch the Orb lose it's f*cking mind lmao...

I love the way the lightshow feels. However, it doesn’t do splash damage for my Moz build! Can I can make up for it with a blast master class mod or perhaps the +36% splash I have on my minesweeper card? Or do these splash increases only apply if there is initial splash damage which the lightshow does not have (maybe with the exception of minesweeper grenades which I think do splash)? Regardless, will short fuse use the splash in blast master even if the initial shot did not? Should I just stick with the flipper?
if you want a splash pistol, use the beacon or the miscreant. The Hornet/Nemesis also does splash damage, but the damage overall isn't outrage-ish. The only other ones are torgue pistols, but the base game pistols aren't worth writing home about.

They really need to bump levels at least one more time. Up to 72 I think. With the additional skill tree for each character there is plenty of room to grow your character without completely filling all skill trees.
More skill points are nice but I don't want to farm a 300 over 90 hell walker again... I spent 4 hours farming.

Been playing bl3 fresh since it came out and got a 65 plasma coil. That made my mayhem 10 go from being reliant to my iron bear. To never needing another gun again.
Ice Lob with High charge speed and +150% rad damage when below 50% health is my fav so far.
Watching this makes me sad. I am a precision weapon fan. Sniper rifles and hand cannon style weapons. It looks like they have definitely gone a different direction with this series. It looks like it’s pretty much spray and pray. Big, flashy explosions, and low skill.
Yea to use those types of weapons you have to be in like mayhem 4 or 5 and below, past that you really have to narrow down your character to do one thing extremely well and those types of weapons just don’t deal high enough damage in end game and higher mayhem levels

I wish you'd show mayhem 10 footage. I got that shotgun on mayhem 10. And all though it deals more single damage than any of my guns, it still barely shaves 10% off regular mobs with every blast. My spider does more damage than any of my guns.

On your Amara what did you have on to make the face punched do those Nova's around the guys you shot? Was it the annoit on the gun or like an artifact?
It's a shield that Nova's when you got a melee but the facepuncher hits 14 melees sooooo yeah 14 Nova's added to each shot

My favourite legendary is 'Breath of the Dying'. It's like dropping a 360 degree claymore corrosive mine in the middle of mobs... Second is none other than the Maggie.
BOTD is so underrated. My brother runs phasecast and I run phaseflare and we both have a 250%/200% and we swear by that gun. Also, the Kaos is amazing
plasma coil is objectively better than monarch and light show since plasma coil does splash which is always a huge plus

OK I haven't played this game since the last season pass came out and I also have only played with Zane. That being said why does no one ever mention the Kaos gun as one of the best weapons? Its damage is insanely high and unlike the Monarch it is very accurate from any distance. Its magazine size isn't that big, but the Kaos rifles I use have an anointment that reloads the gun every time I swap with my clone so I NEVER reload! If that wasn't enough the gun has a chain explosion effect when you kill an enemy. The Kaos rifle and the Light Show are my 2 go to weapons in this game for almost any situation.
i think people ignore it because it wasnt in the past meta weapons so they just ignore it. they must think oh it use to be awful and there is no way to save it so they never bother with the gun

Most guns in Vanilla are kinda weak compared to DLC alternatives, I'm sure if they went unnerfed the King/Queen calls would've been in here due to being cracked on Fl4k
Can anyone offer advice... I'm level 65 and playing mayhem 6 (base game). I seem to be getting very few decent drops. I've got a few mayhem 6 guns like hellshock, hellwalker, Krakatoa but as soon as I increase mayhem level I can't kill anything! Also struggling against pretty much every bosses on mayhem 6. Should I just keep playing and hope for better guns?

Grave ward is an easier boss who drops a crap tone of loot, I would farm him till you get a good gun ex) one of the non dlc guns on this list. You have a hell walker, that should be able to kill him.

i have no. 10 like 5 times. i have it with 26k fire damage and 32k x7 normal damage. graveward is so easy after you made 1/3 damage. for me its the best weapon n the entire game.

My top weapon is Bern shield with "on as end trigger the shield fill/break effect". I am Zane with Mantis Cannon.
Try the frozen snow shoe with that anoint Everytime you activate mantis everything around you will be frozen

@@FireBurn256 you don't have to change anything just change your shield you can still use seeing dead it can be used with any Zane build but a mantis cannon will allow you to freeze more often

tvhm enemies have 0 difference to normal mode enemies at mayhem 10-11. the only reason to be on tvhm is to play the story again

Star Helix best in close range? No way, it's literally a gun with no random spread, even with hipfire. You can hipfire it across a map and waste mobs.

Anyway. My favorite gun is breath of the dying for a while now.
Underrated gun. The corrosive blast the comes out after each kill is but. Definitely a fun gun to use. I did manage to get a hell walker by luck and it's hilarious to one shot every enemy you encounter.
