Dig Sammy's bling! The original gangsta? He's wearing Elvis' favorite colors! Mama Cass is sporting a wild dress (tent?). They change the lyrics to mention R&B/Black artists. Say it loud...!
So much turmoil and change. But, people stood together to protest and pull out of Vietnam, disband racist policies, and marched together. Lots of bad things happened too, but I remember neighbors helping each other with what little they had
This has everything -- live, 2 people who can sing, and at least 1 can harmonize. Ad lib. Seem to know most of the words (don't see them looking intently at cue-cards. And a heavy woman doesn't (including Aretha in her heavy years) come across well not matter what she wears but there's no reason to call her caftan a tent. Caftans were HOT back then.
J'aimerais tellement pouvoir savoir ce qu'ils se disent :((( C'est pas possible d'avoir un sous-titrage des vidéos sur You Tube ??? Elle est trop mimi ;-)
Actually, there were more sizes available to women than today. and, the clothes were better made. And, those types of dresses were called "tents" which is better than "mu mu". How do I know? I was 14 when this was aired.
Interesting comment he made about "believing in it", something he always did, so very well. I recall him on a special--not sure looking back what it was for, but it WAS about people who accomplished something special. He sang a song about achievement--then filed off the stage quickly. It was so clear, that he KNEW it wasn't about him, about his performance; and so he quickly delivered the important message--the message, then left. It was so powerful, not about him at all and he knew that, conveyed it well. Miss that guy
i'm enjoying this rare gem. thanks for uploading it! who cares about the wardrobes when they have voices! back when music actually really meant something..
She really could sing. Crazy how much talent was lost prematurely in a short time...Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Mama Cass, and Sam Cooke in the span of what, eight years?! Tragic.
It s great to find such gems like this in the huge scope of the www Great singers I enjoyed them. Sammy s cigarette :))) today it would be a no go - crazy
Awww. Two folks that broke some barriers and did it with a lot of humor and kindness. Here's to 'em.
❤
Something about Cass singing makes me well up with happy tears.
Sammy is just wayyyy cool.
Same. There was a certain light within her. Not even talking about her immense talent.
Well I love her dress man, she'd b hella cool to party with. Wish she was still here
She knew how to party, too. She squeezed a lot into her short life. A true personality.
Two of the most talented and coolest people ever.
Yup x
Wow! An actual live performance! No lip synching-and definitely no autotune. They're really bringin' it!
Beautiful + confident + talented + sassy = Cass Elliot! RIP And I appreciate the banter between Sammy Davis Jr. and Cass Elliot, too
They're so opposite yet have great chemistry. God I love the 60s, wish I could have been there.
You and me both but I missed it by 25 years
So much turmoil and change. But, people stood together to protest and pull out of Vietnam, disband racist policies, and marched together. Lots of bad things happened too, but I remember neighbors helping each other with what little they had
I was just 4 years old in 1969, but I did grow up with this music and awesome talent here. I love the 1960s too, such a great time to be alive
Two of the greatest entertainers ever!
I miss the days when talent mattered, not appearance. We miss a lot of great artists today because to the sheep, appearance matters more.
His pants are groovy. Case is beautiful as always and that voice 😍
Cass never sang a wrong note
Two great talents and voices. Class's Maxi dress is back in style. This is Great.
That's some serious talent up there man.
This kind of incredible entertainment is a lost art.
That was fun to watch. What a different world we live in today.
I love Sammy Davis Jr., he is smoking on stage! God bless him!
Mohammed Lee .. he was a Satanist
He did not believe in God.
@ColonialBuckeye I could be wrong, but I believe he was a Satanist. You can look it up.
…and, he threw the cigarette butt onto the stage. 😀
GROOOVIN' TILL MY TOES GETTIN 'OL THE ROCKIN' BLUES!!
You gotta love the cigarette just being there.
If I had met and married a girl like Cass I'd have been the happiest guy in the history of the universe.
Boy, could Miss Cass sing!
She appeared to possess a lovely personality as well.
I wonder what her daughter, Owen is up to, these days.?.?
when smoking was as natural as drinking water.....
The harmony..............
Two big eternal legends 😢🖤
mike you have some nerve , listen to that great voice thats how beautiful she was love you cass .
Cass: "I'd like to have a meeting" Pure gold.
Super Mama Cass. One Voice !
Calling that dress a tent is fucking rude. I think cass is hot
Anton Escamilla Cass was so ahead of her time.
hahahaha
I love her dress. The colors and fabrics of the 60s were so beautiful
I saw this on TV when i was a year old.
P.S. good for her for wearing whatever the heck she liked, whether it was "minimizing" or not!!!
Good chemistry
Nice to see how loose and comfortable she's able to be in this
magic captured
She'd like a damn meeting lmao that got me too man 😂😂😂💀💜🙏🏾
They had a few things in common 'The Candyman' for example.
We loved her!
She was so cool ❤😥
Eu gosto muito das músicas de Mama Cass... Ela foi muito talentosa!
mama Cass foi uma das melhores vozes que eu já ouvi em toda minha vida ,talvez se ela fosse magrinha não teria tanto charme, amo ouvir sua voz
Awesome. Thank you for sharing.
I remember this song ...
Awesome
Brought me to tears
Perfect!
Sammy during his ultra-hip swinger phase.
i dig RnB music......
That was cool.
kkkkk duas figuras maravilhosas com grande influencia musical no mundo da musica sou fã n 1 .
hahaha! For a second, I thought Sammy sang 'give me a reefer, Franklin'. This is a great clip. Thanks for posting. From what show is it recorded?
But the fashions of the 60's was fun to put together. You just put stuff you like w/ other stuff you like and make a statement.
Now that’s entertainment 👍👍👍👍
Mama Cass could sing.
Sammy singing and dancing with a ciggie in his fingers. I love that guy.
Dueto
live TV what do know about that!!!!
Well done. Nice number!
I love how she was so politically correct 😻
Get it Sammy
my new favorite video.

@Polybun Say Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt!
You may think your cool, but not sammy cool
J'aimerais tellement pouvoir savoir ce qu'ils se disent :(((
C'est pas possible d'avoir un sous-titrage des vidéos sur You Tube ???
Elle est trop mimi ;-)
At least Sammy didn't mind a woman w/curves!
She had no curves at all ! A great singer though.
lol well technically in geometry something shaped like a sphere has an infinite number of curves
No others would have anything to do with his ugly, skinny little ass.
R Ski wrong Sammy was a player. With his talent and charisma looks didn’t matter much... had lots of women
I believe Adele came from her DNA she died in London and Adele is British hmmmmm???
Yes. You nailed it. Cass had a secret baby that grew up to be Adele. 😑😑
There are a lot of big women that can sing, it's no special deal.
Cass died in 1974
Adele was born in 1988.
omg this is awful
Is it me or were people just cooler back then?
Two amazing talents! Sammy Davis and Cass Elliott
Mama Cass was holding it down for the curvy community. She was so pretty. She remind me of Adele
Adele reminds you of her, show some respect.
It's a bit cruel calling her dress a tent. They didn't have big girl fashion outlets like they do now.
+Mike Rodriguez it looked great
Actually, there were more sizes available to women than today. and, the clothes were better made. And, those types of dresses were called "tents" which is better than "mu mu". How do I know? I was 14 when this was aired.
@@AScrapOfKindness my dad was 11 lol
Cass Elliott had the greatest voice
Her voice one of a kind, her and Karen Carpenter
that's two of a kind. lol
this is what i love about youtube, finding little gems like this
Cass what a freaking voice MAMA i love u
She was a very different lady just to tell people to vote and vote the right people.
Interesting comment he made about "believing in it", something he always did, so very well. Mama Cass was a real hip chick and fun
Simple, classic over-the-air, "FREE" television.
i'm enjoying this rare gem. thanks for uploading it! who cares about the wardrobes when they have voices! back when music actually really meant something..
She really could sing. Crazy how much talent was lost prematurely in a short time...Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Mama Cass, and Sam Cooke in the span of what, eight years?! Tragic.
Gotta hand it to the band. Killer!
That. Was. AWESOME- you made me love YT again in spite of all the hateful b.s. that comes with it -xo
If only she'd been able to sing "I'm fat and I'm proud................"
dois dos maiores artistas que vi em vida ,influencia pra quem gosta da boa musica.
Bling before bling
How mature videobeat fat shaming her .
simplemente hermosa
Sammy always the bad ass with the cigarette, when you could still smoke on T.V.
It s great to find such gems like this in the huge scope of the www
Great singers I enjoyed them. Sammy s cigarette :)))
today it would be a no go - crazy
Mama Cass and the Candyman getting down!
Written by Noel Paul Stookey from Peter Paul & Mary
Loved her and Sammy!

What did she say about her dress? Made by ten thousand what?
Ashley Tunaley silk worms lol
Groovy man.
