    Hi Rich,
    Good to see you back!
    Your absolutely right about only using the GENUINE BMW COOLANT ! It’s not expensive, gives complete peace of mind that it’s a complete, fully proven formulation (by BASF GmbH the worlds largest manufacturer of factory approved automotive coolants supplied to all European Marques as factory fill from their GLYSANTIN Coolant range ) so your assured of no hidden compromises.
    It’s just a no brainer !

      Thanks Philip! There are a lot of TH-camrs saying they use other cheaper coolants in their BMW's... I say why make something simple more complicated? And for what, to save $5?

    Thanks for the info, I have a 2008 X5 3.0 e70. Just got it & it had green coolant. Flushed it & used the bmw blue coolant, thanks to you. I need to change my transmission fluid, any recommendations much appreciated.

    The BMW coolant is cheaper in a way because auto parts stores like autozo... and O'Reilly sell the G48 equivalent to BMW coolant that's already 50/50 mix for about $20 for just one jug! So with this BMW brand coolant you get to make 2 gallons for the price of one!

    According to BMW themselves, the new HT-12 is compatible with all years but the older blue G48 formula is for up to 2018 models. G48 and the new HT-12 are OAT based with silicates but no phosphates. From what I can tell the new HT-12 is 2-EHA free which the previous blue G48 formula had. Early DEX-COOL had developed a bad rap for destroying head gaskets due to 2-EHA however why BMW's blue G48 formula never associated with this same is anyone's guess. 2-EHA supposedly ate the silicone seals on head gaskets but comming from multi layer steel head gaskets in Lexus-Toyota I have yet to see any silicone on one at least in my limited experience but I have seen them on others. So HT-12 is teal green instead of the previous blue G48 and backwards compatible.

      honestly I'd just pay the dealer a few hundred to flush the whole system and replace with genuine fluid. bleeding the cooling systems is a pain. the newer cars with electric water pump have a bleeding procedure using the electric pump to circulate coolant. as for the older pre-2006 models bleeding air out is even more difficult.

    BMW now uses Green coolant in their cars. HT-12 Antifreeze is backwards compatible with older BMW's that use blue coolant.

    Hi, please tell me what would happen if I forgot to mix the distilled water after awhile, it's been at least six months by now that I've been adding that blue coolant?

    • @BIMMERZEITT
      @BIMMERZEITT  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So you put coolant in the car in concentrated form? Well, for one, pure water is the most efficient in cooling the engine. That is why race cars use mostly water. Of course the additives in coolant prevent corrosion in the block and cylinder head, but primarily are there to prevent freezing of the cooling system. You should probably consider getting a coolant drain/fill done and putting the correctly mixed coolant in.

    with the new HT-12 green coolant, you have to mix it 50/50 with distilled water ???
    i have a 2019 M140i xdrive, 15000 km , i opened the tank and it was green not blue, level is pretty low, bmw says not to mix blue and green.
    The production from January 2018 to today, the coolant has changed to the new green.
    i ordered a gallon of the new green, original BMW product of course, do i still have to mix it with distilled water ??
    what about demineralized water, can i go with that ??

    Hey what happening bro.. quick question how many power steering pumps is there for the x5 4.4 years 00-03 awd ? Because i initially thought I bought the right power steering pump and it turns out it’s different?? I follow 50s kid and I presumed that his instructional video for the e53 would be the same for my x5 2003 4.4. But it it looks to the naked eye different atleast that’s what the mechanic said I took a look at it and it does look slightly different smaller and I’m confused cause I swore I had it figured out with the whole n62 m62 engine !? Any help would be appreciated
