We seem to have forgotten that Pontiac in the late 1970s and early 1980s was no longer in control of its own destiny. GM Corporate took over and put profits ahead of what consumers wanted. That was true of all of GM's divisions.
Let's be clear. Every decision on what cars did and didn't get built was exclusively handed down from GM executives. With that being said, Chevy engineers always took top billing from the Chevet to the Corvett and any vehicals deemed a threat to those models had to be dramatically toned down or changed enough that it wasn't competing for any Chevy products. GM Chevy execs killed Pontiac. Nothing else.
Obama, GM and CCP killed Pontiac. My G6 was the best car I ever owned. I was really looking forward to getting a G8. But PC puppets had a different loyalty >>>
Nah, I think too many different models coming out you know GM they always have a lot of different models wether it's Buick,Chevy,lac,GMC or Oldsmobile always something going on they'll be ok I guess these brands were a lil more popular that Pontiac at that point and time

In that time period, GM was focused on the rental and fleet market, not their core private customer.

#2 the Vibe ( first or second gen) is simply better looking than the Matrix and better built at Nummi than the toyota one from Ontario .
