The best folk music, from Ukraine!!!
Fantastic! Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 ❤🇮🇩🇬🇧
One of the best bands on earth. I have seen them live four times in Cleveland. Slava Ukraini! Heroiam Slava! Slava slava slava!
From what? In over a decade with Two Separate supposed Russian "aggressions" (funny use of an inaccurate word) reported that have lasted years each we have seen Zero Footage of any Russian presence in Ukraine. Zero.
How tf is that even _possible?_ In today's world where satellites can zero in on a text message on our phone we _haven't seen_ a single video of any Russian action in Ukraine?
They will be back in Cleveland Nov 8.
Thank you for support ❤
I can't imagine the fortitude it takes to put on a world class performance like this while your homeland is besieged. So much has happened since that Tiny Desk concert where I first heard of them. This is the voice of resiliency. Slava Ukraine! 🇺🇦
Thank you for uploading this show! I got to see them in portland oregon, and my life has never been the same. Arm ukraine now and keep these people alive!
❤ thank you for support

From the opening drums of Tataryn to the final strains of Baby, DakhaBrakha provide a listening experience both unique and beautiful. IMO the best singing ensemble ever. They're in a class of their own. See them live. Slava Ukraine.
The Greatest band on earth. - no-one touches this lot - simply divine. Thanks you from London.

Can't stop listening to your music.....😍😍😍
Insgesamt: Faszination in Reinform.
Ich wünschte ich hätte es miterleben dürfen

Ukrainian Zappa + Mr. Bungle ... Love it! Would be good to do something with John Zorn
pure amazing
Got to see this set in Ithaca and it was incredible! I can't wait to show my family!
A fab expression of a vital, complex and innovative culture: folk-based music with many entertaining contemporary layers! I noted similar in 2022 while visiting many Central / East European countries. These guys are lead exponents! Followed for a few years, but sadly not seen live, as they were sick for Pohoda 2022. Keep going with euphoria; to show us a culture that is enriching us all!
Love it when Nina pulls a "Victor Wooten" samples the bass line ( ok cello line) and sets off on flight! Is Marko chanelling Marvin Gaye, or is a that a muffled jazz voice trumpet I hear! AWESOME STUFF MAN! SUPER EASY ON MY EARS THESE TUNES ARE ! well crafted indeed! SLAVA UKRAINI !
its magic!!!
non-autotune music is my kind of music ❤❤❤
Thanks Dakha Brakha for your music. Slava Ukraini!!!
Arte pura !
Brilliant!!!
The best.
Monakh song is incredible!❤
Moving Marko over to Nina's side seems different from his face obscuring Lena's lovely profile.
I think it makes them look more like a Jack Parnell band than when Lena was somewhat obscured and diminished from her obvious concern about every musical ingredient.
The Members of the Ensemble need to have tremendous respect for each other to remain together for 20 years.
They have had less changes to their Group than the Rolling Stones.
They deliver Memphis Blues along with all the other various musical flavors in a package that would adorn 1920's Paris Jazz clubs, or Beale Street with Lena Horne, quite well.
Simply sublime.
ILARIA!!
heavenly emotional - i love them
You hit the bank! Let's back and play! :::::) The soft power belongs to YOU" Babe" :)

I wonder, did Marko sing with Airto in the seventies? Of course he didn’t, he’s much too young, but the similarities are astounding.
✊🇺🇦✌️

It's »Vesna«!
@@ElbphilharmonieHamburg much appreciated 🤝
Yes, it’s probably hard for wealthy Europe to mark the likes of a background video sequence. At least give the Ukrainian voice a like.

absolutely HATED visuals... this band does not this... they stand out on their own.
It's nice that the women don't overdo it with the traditional singing. This pressed girl's voice singing discriminates against adult women, because it used to be usually demanded from adult women at traditional marriage markets, so that they would also be bought by a man. Usually only very young girls before sexual maturity were bought, who of course could not have adult female voices yet. Then, when these girls became older and adult, but were not yet bought by a man, they were forced to sing like girls so that they would have a chance. Actually, it is time to finally get rid of this dubious tradition altogether. Women should not have to disguise their voices to appear younger. They should be allowed to sing as they are: Adult.
Had lunch with these wonderful musicians when they visited my town for Womad. Never imagined how popular they have become.
I don’t know, maybe you sold women in Russia, but this was not the case in Ukraine. This type of performance (folk) simply suited the choral folk performance when everyone could sing along regardless of talent.
it's a colour, we don't tell people not to wear yellow, do we? I think it has outgrown the meaning you mentioned. what greater feat of emancipation than claiming a tool of oppression and using it in and for freedom. also it's historically a tone that carries, analogue to the male nasal tenor tone, and has outgrown that meaning as well since electric amplification.
so today it's like using an effect and as with flanger, voice box, autotune and reverb you can overuse it and whether someone does is a matter of taste.
they surely invoke a folksy, foreign but familiar feeling in more western-european trained ears by singing in that style and imho use it well
¡Que viva Ukramia libre! 🇺🇦
Su musica es alucinante.
