    Mafell has an old tradition among carpenters here in Germany who use these saws for roof construction. You only buy these machines once for a lifetime, indestructible, and of very high quality that are still 100% made in Germany. Have fun with it. Greetings Michael - master carpenter

      Very true. I've never seen a Zimmerei in Germany use anything other than Mafell. absolute tanks.

      I have had to take apart all of my 3 mafell track saws to clean them internally because they get stuck due to dust particles getting stuck in between the plunge rod. I prefer to use my Festool to be honest.. The plunge mechanism is just better constructed. Why are using a clamp on top of your track??

    Im coming from Germany Baden Württemberg and i live in the Black Forest . Festool, Mafell , Stihl , Bosch... its funny how all this Woodtool Manufacturer are just based a few Kilometers away from eachother. I personally use Makita and Festool and of course Stihl

    I’m using staff from Mafell and Festool, I love Festool but Mafell is just next level, try their jigsaw it’s ridiculous , cannot wait for the cordless option.

      Please don't mention a cordless Mafell jigsaw, I have the batteries already but I have a lovely Metabo jigsaw so I really don't need the Mafell.

    Get the roller edge guide if you do not already have it. You can cut narrow rips off the track...works great and often just use that and forgo the track.

    It is a great tool - I have been running a KSS80 for several years - same saw, but with the cross-cut track. It has never lacked power and has delivered. Worth every penny in my opinion.

    • @Balenza345

      Is their an adjustment on this saw to tighten the groove in the base to compensate for any play when its on the track?

    • @tdwoodcustoms
      @tdwoodcustoms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d have to look closer, but the groove in the base doesn’t allow for any wiggle room

    • @Balenza345
      @Balenza345 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tdwoodcustoms Thank you for the reply TD. A poster has just came on to the festool owners group (FOG) and has cited this as being a problem with his new Mafell KSS80.
      Most track saws have play in this groove and the Festool HK85 (which I own) has an adjustment facility to remove any movement. .

    • @MrTooljunkie
      @MrTooljunkie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The KSS saws (K85) does not allow any adjustment for slop. However, this has never been an issue for me. I too was concerned about it when I got the saw. The reality is that when you push the saw you are pushing against the rib in the rail and the saw cuts straight.

    • @SingleTrack66
      @SingleTrack66 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The way the groove and the guide rail work on this saw means that slop is very unlikely to ever occur.

    Hi, nice to see the saw in action. Just wondering which of the blades you have in there when ripping that board. Is it the standard 12 tooth blade? To be honest it does seem like its cutting slow for a 2300W beast? Thanks for your reply!

    Same cutting depth as festool HK85 with the guide rail, just 3mm deeper without rail. Festool offer milling attachment for the HK. Coming in at half the price, the festool has the edge to me, where the mafell offers a different track system

    The Festool HK85 has roughly the same features and cut capacity. Taking multiple passes should not be necessary if the right blade is being used for the application. I do agree that Festool can feel a bit underpowered on their saws.

    • @SingleTrack66
      @SingleTrack66 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Festool do not make the HK85 in 110v. This is an issue for me as a site carpenter in the uk not just carpenters in North America. I have the battery HK55 and find it under powered at times. I also have a ts55 and find I have to make multiple passes regularly. The KSS 80 is my latest addition…. And it is an absolute beast. Crippled jacks are now a pleasure to cut.
