All my years of playing fighters I never paid much attention to this stuff, but did fairly well. But I was always curious when people talked about things like 5c, so I wanted to find out. I see it's nothing to hard to understand. Good guide, and keep up the great work!
@BlazenT Apparently multiple balance patches don't mean anything lol. There was also challenge mode added to CS, tutorials, then in Extend there's the complete storyline from CT to CS, abyss mode (from psp and 3ds CS2 releases), and unlimited mars mode. Also, if you think CT was real, honest fighting, you must have played Nu or something lol
Just bought Blazblue CS Extend Limited Edition on Amazon for $13. I'm going to finally invest some time in this game. Thanks for this guide. Can't wait to get started!
Well I personally use PS3/PS2 dualshock but I really recommend learning an Arcade stick though is take good amount time to invest in though the pay-off is pretty good (more precise executions, making full use of 4 fingers instead a thumb something makes some inputs easier & more ) I actually plan to learn to play on a stick after I fix a stick that a friend left me
Huh... Seems like a very nice video to point my friends who want to get into this game but the tutorial mode in game isn't sufficient for them. Thanks.
Nice Video, hey can i ask u something? what´s better for playing this game a PS3 Dualshock or Xbox 360 controller, i have the ps3 version and i must say that the dualshock is uncomfortable. I've played since Calamity Trigger, and still i´m not used (the learning curve is just hard cuz the commands are too fast) Do u Recomend a Arcade Stick?.
good stuff with the game coming out tomorrow i learned sum stuff why cant the game developers do stuff like this and explain their games people like u really helps the FGC
Is there some way to get good at this game that DOESN'T involve obsessively repeating combos for 2 months? The tutorial is very vague and long winded, challenge mode expects you to know how to do everything beforehand, and playing online is like walking into a wood chipper. I tried arcade mode but FREAKING HAZAMA ANE HIS STUPID NONEXISTANT DISTORTION make it impossibe to finish. And I won't just stop, playing the game. I am a human being so I should be able to do what everyone else does!... Plus,I dig the art style.
There so much more to this game than just combos. Gonna be patience about this if you wanna improved. Obsessively practicing a combo in which you cannot hit in match won't get you nowhere. The most important thing you need to learn is doing a Right thing on the right time What can you do is watch a match of your character(preferably jpn match and winning) and observe his/her action throughout the match like which normal/move does he/she do most? what do he/she do in long range neutral? close range neutral? when the opponent is above him/her? getting pressured? a either character got a knockdown? It gonna hard to get this in one viewing so I highly recommend to watch out for particularly thing the hit the replay button to watch out for another repeat till satisfied from here out you can try emulate the playstyle of the player you just watch. When I first started I pretty much just copy what other player where doing in a match. Something else you do watch this video series by norvil, Airdash Academy ep.01 - Starting Points currently it has 7 episode which can help you more you can also read up some of the thread here www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forum/95-beginner-mode/ Dloop has chat maybe you can chat up someone else for advice Remember Patience & Do the right thing on the right time
Try Stylish mode for awhile, at least till you get the hang of a character, and then transition back into technical once you feel comfortable with him/her.
Honestly no.... People get good at the game by training a lot until it becomes fluid and easy. When I got extend I had to sit in training mode for HOURS DAYS MONTHS even in order to get good with Haz now I can play everyone fairly well and in ChronoPhantasma the newer one I'm even better with the characters there
I just got the game 4 days ago and I'm just trying to focus on 3 critical things to learn and focus on every month. I'm learning movement, blocking, and breaking down my characters attacks(disadvantage on block, execution frames, which can be dash canceled, etc) this month. Next month I'll focus on heat meter management, anti airs, and bnb combos.
The world may have moved on but I discovered this game a week ago; picked up a copy for a tenner (inc book &art cards) and managed only a few hours but could do with more vids.As OP suggests, this one is a tough mofo. Thank you for this one @lolokoa . Many years on, your efforts are still helping. ;)
pretty much, both put the game in neutral though if ever an Counter-Assault get blocked you can rapid cancel it to make it safe (if you have an extra 50 heat) or in Tager case in Extend you can Rapid Cancel his Counter assault for small combo, magnetism and better positioning
@BlazenT Well it was interesting talking to you. It's not like I'm an aksys or arcsys fanboy, but you're not really listening to what I say, so that's ok lol.
@BlazenT LOL milking every penny? Have you not seen SFIV and MVC3? Look what what they did. (Also patches ARE drastic changes). And so far, they've only made you pay for what, two patches now? CS and CSE. They never had a 6 month gap between paid patches lol. There's still plenty of new stuff in CSE (as with CS when it came out) for people who bought CT and CS. They really aren't milking us, but hey my view of money to game/content ratio is probably different from yours :v

this guide was pretty well done now I know there is a basic guide video for BB that I could show to beginners

The new version called Chrono Phantasma will be released on Japan this October 2013 while the US is planned early 2014
Yes, I've seen a couple of people who got good at Fighting games with this game but It really depends how motivated you are about getting there
+1 for epic music. I think I heard some Bof3 in there ~^.^~ You prolly know this already, but your vid made the front page on SRK.

@BlazenT You know Continuum Shift 1 and 2 were part of the same game, 2 being a free dlc patch. Extend is only the third in the franchise lol.
That's kinda what I'm doing now. But when the next BlazBlue releases, I'm definitely getting deeper into the game.
i knew that first sounded familiar!!!
good vid man. will defo pick this up
BTW for Bang's gatling combo you put 3C when you meant 2C. Minor detail but just wanted to let you know.
Thumbs up for using Breath Of Fire III OST !!
Saito Best version of You Go Girl.... always the right choice.

Please put the music you used in the description. The western one sounds like wild arms... but not sure.

some one can tell me wich button are in comand in xbox i dont have the joystic arcade yet!!!
this game seems so sick, i wish i had the skill to play it.
So, Counter Assault and Break Burst are more or less the same thing, only one uses meter and the other uses a special resource?
pretty much, both put the game in neutral
though if ever an Counter-Assault get blocked you can rapid cancel it to make it safe (if you have an extra 50 heat)
or in Tager case in Extend you can Rapid Cancel his Counter assault for small combo, magnetism and better positioning
If I never played fighting games before, can I be good at this game?
Good Job
I'm gonna be real, is this Vita only? I've not been able to find a PS3 version anywhere.
@lolokoa Heh, God damn Florida retailers. :P *Goes to Amazon*
@BlazenT Well it was interesting talking to you. It's not like I'm an aksys or arcsys fanboy, but you're not really listening to what I say, so that's ok lol.
