This is an epic retelling of the Amazonian myth. Included are all three books written by Kelly Sue Deconnick and illustrated by Phil Jimenez for book 1, Gene Ha for book 2 and Nicola Scott for book 3. The artwork is gorgeous and a visual feast for the eyes. It won the Eisner in 2022 for best single issue in 2022. Definitely worth checking out.

Hi Marcus! I loved this particular work! The art is mind-boggling! I agree with you that it is a retelling of the origin of the Amazons according to George Perez. I liked it, but I liked George’s version more. The ending moved me to tears. Thank you for your video!

The artwork and extras are dope, but this afrodite is definitely not the goddess of beauty described by the greeks. I don't understand this urge to alter everything that is a common sense

None of the goddesses fit the description of the Greeks, but you mention only Aphrodite, that's strange (not at all).

@balalow75 I immediately remembered the painting Venus from titian. It was the one that got my attention the most

@@andreib2202 Its Titien* with an e and lmao titien's venus doesn't even represent aphrodite. Morever it considers beauty criteria from an era totally different from that of ancient Greece.

@balalow75 I have just searched and in English (not my language) it seems it's titan with an a, including the title of a taschen book. But that's irrelevant. And both Italy and Greece are from Mediterranean, The beauty and the people from those places were probably similar. I think you are just trying to be different pretending beauty is social construct.

@@andreib2202 Titien is not an ancient Greek painter. The geography and, above all, the time are different. If you think that standards of beauty are the same throughout Europe and across all eras since the beginning of mankind, you should seriously consider opening a book, especially if you talk about it being so sure of yourself. The only thing Aphrodite and the Titien's Venus have in common is that they're both women. You could have quoted any other painting of a woman, it just doesn't make any sense.
