    Hi Bob, Thanks you for this tip. I have 10 units I have to get working on ( as soon as it gets a little warmer) several are just carb issues but all need some type of carb work plus. This tip will help save some time & $$$.
    Stay safe, Joe Z

    Awesome video on fixing the needle and valve seat on the carb. Looking forward to watching how you made that hone tool. Thanks for the information and tips.

    Nice tool idea... I have spent a lot of money on those needle and seat kits, so everything I learn about how to salvage them helps a lot.

    Nice Bob, I'm the same way. I have very good success with the aftermarket Nikkis off eBay. But the next time I get a Walbro in that is worth saving I would like to try this. It looks like that MightyVac is a great tool to have!

    I have used q-tip and grinding compound with success. Your method takes it to the next level. Nikki carburetors are no fun to work on and prone to needle and seat issues as you said. Like your channel better than Project Farm.

    Sometimes the customer doesn't want to wait 2 weeks for parts. Can't begin to stock every part for every carberator. I have done this before also. Your videos are easy to follow sometimes you have to be creative 👍Watching from Manitoba

    That's a tecumseh needle in your honing jig. Wonder what the shaft is made from? Taryl used fuel line but you need to use it on the needle of the carb you're honing and that's not able to be used on all sizes of needles

    • @doublewide6
      @doublewide6  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I saw Taryl's video come out about 4 days after I filmed mine. Good news is we both have different tools and techniques.

    Great idea, Mustie1 does it too, what I've always used to do this trick is brasso polish, and a qtip, it's not as gritty as valve compound, and a lot easier to clean up, cause you don't want any of that compound inside an engine, also I have used a small brass wire bit on my dremel, it fits right down the hole, and cleans it in about 5 seconds to a shiny finish.
