I am very happy as a German that you visited his place, because nothing beats the authentic atmosphere! Thanks so much for coming! Let’s not forget that Bach was born after 30-year war and pest epidemics, so music was a way to seek for better ways after the horrors of the past, and China also has a lot of horrors in the past.
Thank you, Lang Lang, for this beautiful, touching video. I’m pretty sure you and Bach would have gotten along very well. The funny thing is that some of your critics criticize you for exactly the same things for which Bach‘s critics criticized Bach. Two days ago, I witnessed your Goldberg concert in Munich. It was simply one of the most stunning, marvelous musical experiences I have had in my life as a musician. You’re one of a kind.
It is preserved. That is, up until now However, if the woke Left and cultural Marxists get their way they will most probably destroy it along with as many other icons of Western cultural civilisation they can target.
@@vittoriobacchiega9118 that really depends. The dust mainly makes it slowly go out of tune and spiders and dead insects also don't help. 10 years would be really quick to need a complete cleaning, 15 to 30 years is more realistic in my experience. Usually there is a contract for some organ builder to pay a yearly visit and do minor repairs - they'll tell them when it needs cleaning.
He recently participated in a Chinese variety tv show, where he and a bunch of other popstars traveled across China, playing games, singing, and dancing together. If you didn’t know who Lang Lang was when watching the show you would’ve never thought he was the ultra serious showman he is on stage. He surprised me with his humility and how down to earth he was, especially given his status. He’s basically considered a God in China!
Yeah i like that about him and his attitude in general but there is some thing that i dislike but im not gonna bring it up here and it has probably more to do with the Chinese Government. My favorite pianist is Igor Levit
I would certainly cry if I step a foot in that church, I can only imagine how it feels to visit such an iconic place WHERE BACH ACTUALLY PLAYED AND COMPOSED and met his wife 😅
I don't play the piano but I really enjoyed Bach's work. I am always very impressed with his numerous work he produce in his life and seeing the organ which he used during his time, wow..really made me happy.
The ego of a superstar with the knowledge, taste and experience of a little child. This video is proof of the hard times "classical music" is going through right now.
Yes, definetly. Otherwise I wouldnt be able to tell how he knew the difference immediately. But I am kind of surprised that he doesnt know that baroque tuning is sharper than todays.
I heard there were a few pretentious, borderline racist comments about this video. I see they were quite right. Fortunately, there are also some wonderfully warm, kind remarks as well that can appreciate that music "belongs" to no ethnicity, nationality or racial phenotype. This is why it is music. It is the first universal human language. I pity the "old boys" who are indignant because a Chinese performing arts star is discovering the baroque organ for the first time. I'm sure they would have loved to see a white old or young man instead. #newworld #yourtimeisup
@@TheOrganInternational German organbuilder was the first to introduce the complete plane (aka BDO today defined). Buxtehude's works already used this kind of pedalboard.
