    I've gotten my switch down pretty decent and I can do frontside 180s most of the time, but I do tend to lose a lot of my momentum. Next time I go out I'll have to use these tips to see if I can get it smoother, and then also start on my backside 180s!

    Will I be able to do this on flat wheels? Or do I need to get curved wheels for this trick? 🤔

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can definitely do this with flat wheels

    Hey,
    If you do frontside 180 (goofy) like in this video, on which skate do you put your weight, if you start riding switch?
    Everytime I turn, I lost speed and fall.
    I notice that a lot of tricks are depending on which skate you put your weight.
    All your video's are great, but sometimes I wish I want to know, on which skate I have to put my weight.
    I live in Holland, and youtube is my teacher😊
    I have never seen freeline skaters in my country.

      It's crucial to learn switch. This way you won't lose your balance or speed when you hit the 180

    Hi Jeff, thanks for all beginners’s tutorials. I really like you said it likes baby step. I start learning from last month due to lockdown, it is really helpful for me!!
    Now I can pump and switch ( I am regular and I can do goofy but not as familiar as my regular)
    But for 180 turn , I just stop and lose all my momentum when I turn 180. Is it required to make my goofy as my regular first?
    And when turning, how is the center of gravity move? I try to put much of my weight on my left side (regular) is that right?

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Cy Hsu! Your center of gravity should follow the center of your two feet, at all times. This will keep your body from being left behind. As long as you let the skate pass UNDER you, and not AROUND you, your momentum should carry through :) The fact that your center of mass stays exactly over your feet makes the difference between a 180 and a super sharp carve. So after the rotation the quick snap, the speed you end up with will depend on your ability to ride switch. Hope that helps you, and good luck!

    I swear backside & frontside should be switched...🤷‍♂️ I think of it as turning to my back side. And frontside I think of “going forward” almost, so it’s switched in my mind lol
