If there is 1 thing I'll say about the purple coin missions in SMG 2, I love that the timer goes away after the star appears. Unlike SMG 1, the timer stays & you can still lose a life even after when the star appears.

Bone pen purple coins is the only one I think personally this timer thing made hard. Maybe It’s just cus I’ve played super Mario galaxy 1 so much but I can first try every purple coin mission besides the bone pen. I think all the others are easy and the fact that the timer stays after all 100 coins doesn’t help with bone pen either

You need to plan your path with the surfaces disappearing beneath your feet, but you have to do it whilst CONSTANTLY moving. It was indeed nightmarish..

The second time i did it, it took me 25 minutes Purple coins in the Rainbow Road in Rolling coaster Galaxy took me near an hour to do because I kept missing a lot of coins and dying. I recently played SMG2 again (like last and this week) and actually managed to complete Luigi’s Purple Coin Chaos in like 2-3 tries. The ball level of world 7’s comet though, that for some reason was still hard for me, took around 15 attempts.

I preferred the first game's purple coin levels. A lot of them were not timed and didn't involve some kind of weird gimmick. You could just run around a galaxy and collect 100 purple coins, and having to search really hard, explore, and take your time, was part of the fun. These levels seem more rushed and stressful. Only ones that felt more like SMG1 coin levels was the flip-swap and clockwork ruins. They're timed, but they felt more like the fun timed coin missions in galaxy 1.
In the comet The Adventure of the Purple Coins, I have found quite a discovery. The Whittles give the numbers 37 and 73. These are just reversed digits of each other. Oh, and Clockwork Ruins Galaxy is the 37th galaxy you unlock.

I never, ever managed to beat it. I wonder if I would be able to, 7 years later
Don't think your at 100% yet because once you get to 120 stars, the game offers 120 GREEN STARS, making you need 240 Stars to 100%. god your going to rage on Rainbow road...

I’m seeing EVERYONE complaining about Luigi’s Purple Coin Chaos. I don’t understand... it’s not that hard, guys. As long as you go through the right routes that let you grab as many purple coins as possible in a short amount of time whilst NOT stepping on every green tile as to help you get back to the star when you got em’ all, this stage won’t be the most “impossible” stage in the game. So either get good, or shut up, because I’m sick of seeing complaints about this prankster comet.

Gusty Garden's purple coins (on the cube planet) was a killer for this. I would get the 100th coin, but then not be able to find the star.

when I beat the Luigi purple coin level after over a week I wasn’t even able to get the star because most of those disappearing green squares were gone, Jesus christ

I’m seeing EVERYONE complaining about Luigi’s Purple Coin Chaos. I don’t understand... it’s not that hard, guys. As long as you go through the right routes that let you grab as many purple coins as possible in a short amount of time whilst NOT stepping on every green tile as to help you get back to the star when you got em’ all, this stage won’t be the most “impossible” stage in the game. So either get good, or shut up, because I’m sick of seeing complaints about this prankster comet.
