Robin commented that you lads had camped across from there last year and linked me his vid and I saw you nip up Spartleton ;) It's a great wee hill with fine views! Spoiled rotten with the weather that day, the clouds were amazing and that's the first wind turbine time lapse I've done - it turned out great, I'll have to come back and do some more lol. Yip the rona is all gone now cheers Kev, pleased I've had it so at least I know what to expect now :)

Hi Wild Heart and thanks for the sub 😄 great to hear you're loving the vids, can't beat a bit of Northern humour ay? Lol. Loved this camp, literally picked this hill due to parking availability but wow, what a stunning camp! I'm a sucker for a good time-lapse and the wind turbines looked ace sped up. The Lammermuirs are well worth a visit if you haven't already 😁 TFW and taking the time to comment :)
Glad you enjoyed it Mick - wind turbines are great for time lapses, nice and funky looking lol. Ace views from up there and I'm looking forward to heading back and pitching on the hills behind the reservoir. TFW hope you're having a decent weekend :)
Another Fantastic View Adventure Donna👍🙏 Pity about the Power Lines spoiling the Atmos!! I’m still not sure about the wind farms either spoiling the Views.🙈 Great location regardless and yet another Quality Outdoor stay. Only a few to go to get caught up so this is Awesome having a few to Binge on👍🥾⛺️ Thanks Donna for the Time and effort as always.Big Thumbs up 👍 from me.
I quite liked the power lines and the wind turbines, that time-lapse of the turbines came out great lol. We've got to give nature a hand if we want a means to power things without ruining the Earth for future generations, so I'm always happy to see wind farms. Pylons I don't even notice anymore but I do like to photograph them when I do ;) Loved this random camp Neil - decided on that hill just because there was parking in that wee valley....and look what I was rewarded with! Those skies and the clouds and a pretty chipper sunset, aw man that's why I keep going out. TFW Neil and for taking the time to pop a comment on x
🤣🤣🤣 croak-id 🤣🤣🤣 that really tickled me haha. Mint vid as always. The tent looks space aged.... 👌. The clouds looked like the Simpsons sky.... bloody lovely day. Get fully well soon xx
Cheers Simon, fully recovered from the plague now 😎 and had a mint camp in the Cheviots last week, just editing that now. This was a mint random hill and pitch - and the weather was lush - chilly overnight mind but that Vango Hydra is a 4 season tent with a solid inner (and a right bargain, only paid just over £100 for it, ex-display), so warm enough inside. The clouds were beautifully fluffy, perfect Simpsons clouds for some ace photo's and vids lol. Playing catch-up on TH-cam after taking a few weeks break when I was plagued but you're on my list for tonight Xx
Some great views from up there Donna , and it looked a lovely day for a camp . A nice little wander to wile away the evening taking in the local landmarks … some top not Timelapse’s especially the turbine one very mesmerising . Hope no grouse shooters turned up to fire out of turret 1 lol atb Dave
Nope - not a grouse shooter in sight Dave. Got a bit chilly soon as the sun went down so Butt No.1 didn't get fully utilised as a clubhoose lol. It's a lovely area for exploring, rolling hills and moors as far as the eye can see. I loved the way the wind turbine time lapse came out, so thanks for mentioning that. All in all a great camp from a random hill, the views were immense from up there - and only 468m as well so no biggie. Cheers Dave, TFW :)
Nice one Donna, enjoyed that with my boiled eggs and toast this morning. Tent looks solid. Grouse butt 2 handy if the weather turned on you, or a cheeky bivouac. Those wind turbines spoil the Lammermuirs a bit. I remember spending a lot my miss spent youth driving down there with my girlfriend. 😂
Morning Robin - yeah it's a great area, rolling hills and moors as far as the eye can see. I'd have spent a lot of my mis-spent youth round there as well if it was local 😂 I don't mind the wind turbines, we've got a fair few in Northumberland and they're a bit like Marmite for most people....they make for a funky old time-lapse though ;) Vango tent for £100 is a 4 season bargain - I only had 3 tents with me and the other 2 had had a run out that week so the Vango got the night up the hill by default 😂 It's a great area and you're fortunate to have it as close. I'll defo be back. Have a great BH weekend :)
@@donnavansenior we need green energy, so I'm not totally against them. Just the place had a right wild and untame feel to it back in the day. Have a good one yourself pal. 😁 👍🏻
I bet it did, take all of those turbines out of the picture and it must have looked amazingly rugged and wild. I started counting the turbines but got bored when I hit 100 so goodness knows how many are out there. I work weekends so that's where I'll be heading in half an hour....urgh lol.
Donna that was a fab view, such beautiful colours. That was a great suggestion about the usb ports, could be a great safety/get help thing, someone should do something!! lol :D Glad you are covering ok and can still do your walks. xxx
Hya Hazel - yeah back to normal health wise and was high up in the Cheviots a few days ago - just editing that vid now, as usual far too much footage & need to trim it down lol. This video was a great camp, my first in the Lammermuirs even though I'd been there a few times. Couldn't have chosen a nicer hill and the views and colours of the sky were amazing! Beautifully peaceful and felt nice and remote even though it really wasn't ;-) TFW and hope you're enjoying the BH weekend Xxx
Hya David :) Whiteadder is well worth a visit - the surrounding hills and moors are teaming with wildlife and it's nice and remote and quiet. Downsides are the lack of parking by the actual reservoir itself but if you headed for the Johnscleugh valley there's plenty parking down that way. I could well imagine it being a star gazing paradise, hardly any major light pollution for miles around. TFW and hope you're having a chipper BH weekend X
Looked a nice chilled 1 that must admit it's an area I've never walked/camped in will have to give it a go hopefully I'm out tomorrow in the lakes with my new tent kuiu mountain star 2p
Wooo!! You got a Mountain Star? Instant tent envy lol. I'd love one but funds are limited and the price of them has shot up recently. You'll have to let me know your thoughts on it Craig, thanks. The Lammermuirs are nice and relaxed, lots of good gravel paths over the moors and plenty of hills to choose from - couple of 500+m hills as well. Well worth a visit. Have a great BH weekend, hope the Lakes aren't too manic :)
