Why Throne and Liberty Is DESTINED To FAIL

- After 90 hours since early access launch I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute playing Throne and Liberty! But there is something developmentally wrong with this game that will lead to it's failure, and it has very little to do with swiping.
The game is fun when you're leveling, doing some co-op dungeons for the first few times, and completing exploration quests and events. It's that general "I'm experiencing this for the first time" phase.
Then, you realize you can't really participate in the main content without being part of a large, competitive guild (like guild siege or world boss conflicts).
Next, you notice that you're getting trashed by players with well-geared groups, making it hard to enjoy open-world PvP or the arena.
You can't even get drops from the peaceful world bosses because you don't have enough gear to make a significant contribution.
I think the main problem right now is the daily routine-it becomes boring and repetitive too quickly.
Hellya im on the same path now. 900 dimensional tokens a day gets me 3x coop dungeon loots. Yea i can still run it for fun without rewards but not much point. Other than coop dungeons i run the abyssal tokens but only during the day to avoid pvp. Not much content after that😂
exactly. But i had a good time. Never was into running a few dungeons 13432x for some gear.
@@jw2473 well theres plenty to do though, grab codex pages, the solo dungeon, etc. what i mainly do is help my guild mates get their gear so that we can become a more powerful guild, even if i dont get loot from the raids, ill still run with them.
@@sethael1741 It's better to have a choice than not.
U guys better be 3k power if ur complaining about running out of shit to do
yesterday at night one of the top guilds was just camping the entrance to ants preventing anyone else from coming in.... I got a glimpse into the exact problem you are talking about. The best thing to do was just not go do pvp. How is that fun for anyone?
They are doing it at nighttime tho When pvp is activated. wanna avoid it fully while going to ants you can. Its called grinding during the day time. Only pve only andys see the issues this guys talking about.
Skill Issue
Play pvp and get better or …. Don’t play it . Simple
@@12_tribesthis game pvp has a extremely low skill ceiling. Zerg>gear>weapon combo>skill

My server run by zerg guild that has 4 sister guilds so basically just 5 guilds teaming together all time to control everything and zerg everyone. I try join a guild that isn't the zerg guild and it kind of a waste of time TBH. Can't do PVP world bosses cause the Zerg guild locks them down every time, go into abyss dungeon and the zerg guild has whales causing solar eclipses every chance they can to lock those down, go do one the guild PVP events and nope can't do that either zerg guild already there locking it down. At rate my server going this zerg Alliance is on route to control the whole map and are killing any form of PVP in the game. They already own 90% of the bloostone on the map that are active to take over.
opposite for my server, internal guild took over r1-2 taking currently all loot, but r3-4 are also internal who want to get them off, while in the top 25 are 4 diff 4x alliances trying to get r1 off aswell while also competing with each other. Very nice competetive spirit on our world currently
But from my own mmo experience in highend guild, r1 is very hard to get off XD, usually these people are not just thic whales. But genuinely very very coordinated and skilled people usually dominating any game they join
I play for fun then move on . That's it.

Same. I don't have time to grind anymore. Plus, once you see the pattern, it just becomes a job. After the discovery phase, like everyone, i am outie as well.
What will kill this game is the unforgivably clunky horrendous targeting system. It's pure junk.
Or the janky buggy morphing. Or the frequent clunky rubber banding. Or the typical korean mmo time gated progression with boring daily chores. Or the lack of meaningful pve content. Throw the guild gatekeeping on top and this game won't last. The population will dramatically start to fall off and NCsoft will pivot into heavier p2w for the 2k concurrent whales still playing, a tale as old as time.
This very true but you can tweak all your targeting settings in the settings menu and after messing around with my settings it’s way better. I forget exactly what I did but when I first starting playing that was the first problem I had as well lol
It's superior to World of Warcrafts targeting thankfully.
@@kyrathos3703 haven't played wow in years but I'm still going to disagree.
@@washedupvet8592 It's still bad after set the settings that were recomended by some content creators. If I have a player targeted and priority for attacking players, why when I press tab, the target changes to an NPC?
In this game most players are leveling to be plankton for the few whales. You can already see the OP Guilds from KC server leading Global servers by a huge margin.
😂🎉real life IS the same and you cant complain 😅
@@onlywrongaexthetics6181but games don't need to be real life especially not an mmo bc they're the most unrealistic experience.
This is true of all WPVP on wow lol. Ruinous alliance dominated my horde server
@@onlywrongaexthetics6181what a dumb take, people play games to escape real life. are you retarded or something? 3k gear score here btw :)
I have bis gear obtainable at the moment for my class (other than some accesory traits as they only became farmable today with Sylus F6 opening) as f2p. Nothing to do with whales. Most players arent plankton, they just arent going to be competitive in pvp because they cba to join a proper pvp guild, which is fine. Dont turn up to conflict bosses without a guild and moan that you cant beat them.
I was pleasantly living in T&L bliss through leveling and into my purple gear grind then defended a boonstone with the guild and got steamrolled for 20 minutes. A good chunk of my guild has full time players but it wasn’t even close. I can totally see top guilds becoming a monopoly on the game experience unless some changes are made. Dungeon rewards need to be more rewarding for ALL classes so people want to run them more often as well.
The dungeons are already like that. You just done see that.
@@NerdySan I’m talking about having a hard time finding a healer in a PUG for a dungeon that doesn’t give loot beneficial for the class. Loot table should be larger IMO. Unless it’s a guild only run that has been a bottleneck in the dungeon queue.
@@starkindustries7429 That's why i mained healer, for my own sanity and a friend runs tank. Just write 4 DPS and they come flocking. I suggest you befriend tons of healers and see which ones are willing to help you in their non specific dungeons. If you finish the run fast i'm sure they won't mind just helping out without using their tokens.
everything he says in this video has already began happening but it's even worse because instead of 70 people controlling a server, it's more like 100+ because of the alliance feature. all the top guilds just ally and dominate everything lol. sad because the game has so much potential but the devs are content w/ this i guess.
If the game has at least 2 mega alliances all we'd have to do is join one then slug it out. It's like the equivalent of Horde vs Alliance in WoW.
@@Eddy_Stylez it's not like that at all. in this game all the big guilds just join one massive alliance because there is no downside to it. you have 2-3 big guilds form one big alliance and everyone else cannot compete because doing so requires you to p2w & play the game daily like a job. the vast majority of people don't want to do this (and can't.)
in wow you explicitly have to choose one or the other and horde & alliance players cannot (or at least couldn't) join forces and collaborate to manipulate the economy. that's not true in this game.
@@sonnyankau9239 no no no, I'm saying why don't 2 opposing alliances form and fight each other? is there something in this game that prevents that from happening? In Albion and Eve Online there are multiple alliances/coalitions that fight each other. I don't see why that can't also happen in this game.
@@Eddy_Stylez yes there is, most ppl rather join big zerg than sometimes lose a fight if the sides are somewhat balanced, they should just limit alliance feature to have 2 clans in it in total or just cancel whole alliance thing, bcs ppl are little bitches and can't handle loss. And if they are mega-guilds or however they like to call em selves i dunno split across multiple servers i guess.
The game has no potential. The story sucked, the combat is mediocre, and there's nothing to do in the game that doesn't drop into the pvp gear progression funnel. And even pvp is completely controlled by those few guilds. You just can't compete.
I use to be the leader of several TOP guilds from other MMO's and believe me when i say this ...I HATE GUILDS . Its just like having a JOB. You have to be so committed...i use to be THAT guy that gate keeped casual players from dungeons , trust me its no fun on that side of the fence either. Its not fun anymore when it feels like a job. I got kicked out of MY OWN GUILD cause i didn't log in for 4 days......yes its that serious 😅
It would be that much of an issue if this was not thee only end game in the game. Everything points back to the pvp. And furthermore, getting mats to do pvp. That's the entire game. You either slave away and grind all day to get any progress or swipe and grind.
The thing is, the game isn't even fun enough😂 the game will die when people realize there's nothing to do besides the grind for pvp gear. All life paths and everything else just gives you mats to a convoluted way to do pvp. Everything points back to pvp because the pve content is lackluster. Also, the combat sucks on console. It's a hack and slash
@@higguma my bro, every MMO leads to the same desination: PVP. Cuz what else u wanna do? what are u farming gear for? to farm the same dungeons more efficiently? Maybe if there were 500 different INTENSE dungeons. BUT at the end of the day the endgame is either PVP and farming mats for bufffood OR fishing.
The question is:
How good is the PvP in general?
How good is the game feeling while playing? (movementengine, targetting system etc)
Its a PvP focused MMO. Thats all you need to know. Its all the same: server with alot of guilds die off due to inactivity or losses, people migrate to 1 or 2 guilds with maxed out numbers, content gets overrun with little to no rewards for other people, toxicity of the tryhards and console players ensue. Then the casuals come to say that there is no point even trying and tryhards come to say that people just whine/you want to dumb down the game/etc. Its happened multiple times before, but people on TH-cam will defend it until the day they die.
Console players arent toxic whatever do you mean dear sir
pve got to be on par at least, games who put PVP over PVE almost always fail, see the downfall of Destiny.
@@nestroit5010 why are you just blatantly lying? Destiny failed because of the exact opposite. They literally cut off support for pvp for like 2-3 years and released abysmal pve content for years. The pve players ruined that game non-stop complaining about the wrong things sending death threats to devs over a little titan thrust. Destiny players are embarrassing and that's why their game is dead
@@nestroit5010 Eve Online PvP is still thriving, maybe other game devs should take notes on how to do it right.
Yeah, well said. People will "defend it until the day they die" because it IS fun to be one of the top 1000 people running the server, and those people are very vocal about wanting to have an MMO where they can dominate everyone. But the problem of course is that no one wants to be part of the 99% of sheep who just gets hunted / gatekept out by the few wolves. And you can't sustain an MMO off a tiny group of hardcore players.
what will kill this game is everyone runs dagger as secondary and uses that shadow strike skill that instantly tps you to a target and binds them into a death combo, at max it goes up to almost 17 meters thats longer than the average bow, and it has a 6 second cooldown 4 seconds is the min ive seen, yall can say its a skill issue but that shit is op asf
The one thing that I can see making a lot of players quit is the new level 50s wanting to switch weapons later and finding out how much extra work it will be
Can you switch classes in other MMOs ? No. I don’t see why this is a problem here. You pick a class in the beginning and commit to it. Simple as
@@paronator6550 i guess he means "switching to a better weapon" that has me preocupied too, as leveling the traits seems rather expensive.
you can make a new character and make it better with the things that you've learned, you are allowed to make three in every account and because leveling up doesn't really take that long I don't really see that as a problem that would make people quit
@@paronator6550 Sort of. In other MMOs you can simply switch by making an alt class and sharing gear/resources to quickly get it up to par with your main. In T&L you are heavily locked into one character role since the only thing you can share between your account is Lucent. This really impacts one of the main features being experimenting with the weapon combination system.
Switching is daunting with so many layers of progression. 13 pieces of equipment to change, traits, skill books, and weapon masteries. So if someone ends up not liking the weapon class they invest into, they may just end up quitting instead.
@@paronator6550Final Fantasy XIV you can play every class and crafting job on 1 character.

No casual players...no game. The hardcore's will feed interns and get nothing for their money. It's everything since For Honor. Controlled and manipulated content and progress. It's about getting quick money before you realize what's going on.
Yeah, that's the central problem I see with PvP / guild-focused games. No one wants to be the sheep who is being hunted / farmed by wolves, or be the sheep guild who keeps losing to other guilds. So casual players are probably going to leave after the leveling experience. And then the next-most-casual group of players are the new sheeps, and eventually they leave, et cetera.
Whereas with for example classic world of warcraft casuals can just spend a long time slowly leveling at their own pace. And then eventually they can form a casual guild and do a few dungeons, and it doesn't matter that they're bad and slow. They're not being directly hunted or kicked out of zones by more hardcore players.
Exactly this and this is why ff14 and wow thrive while throne and liberty is already dying. I love to play mmorpgs with a few friends and chill around or do some small dungeons. Im never going to join a guild and work in a game. I already work 12 hours a day.

Exactly.
You summed it up as perfectly as someone could in that small space. It's a devil with a pretty face. Everything about this game is toxic af but we'll disguised. You need look no further than the million convoluted mats meant to mask the actual time cost of things:
You need mat (A) to get mat (b) to do something with item (x) that you need for item (y) which then is used to put into item (z). Then you need (z) for something else.
It's a big loop of do something unfun to get something you were told you needed for something you're told you should be doing. Everything is forced and you're a hamster in a wheel. And after all of that you're still just a puny little shrimp.
And, above all, the combat isn't even fun and the RPG part of the game is crippled by the void of things to do. There's nothing to do in the game that isn't part of the conglomerate of the pvp gear grind. Nothing is safe from pvp gear grind or convinicing you to spend money.
I find it annoying to not have a free glamour system or even dyes. It's huge in Final Fantasy XIV and many other games to be able to customize character look for free. Just makes it worse that gear is like it is in this game. You rarely get new gear to use but just keep on upgrading the old gear keeping every day the same look on character.
For me with over 140 hours played(no early access) I feel this game will die for me because of limits when I get to do open(+closed) dungeons and for how long. Rain conditions to enter an open dungeon I would love to grind. Night pvp when I just wanted to do pve event fast out of the way. I tend to agee. At end-game, there is nothing to do except a mind numbing grind and PvP. However, PvP is guild-dependent and the best loot is exclusive to the top guilds who win at PvP, which means most everyone is locked out and will get discourage by this. In short, the game is just a simplified and streamlined MMO, like a MMO version of Fortnite; it has no signifigant PvE depth.
I agree with your points I've played way to many MMOs to know whether a game can be successful or a failure in the first three months
I agree with you.
One aspect about this matter is, how are going to be the next dungeons.
They need to involve skill more than gear, they also need to be a way to acces some of the best gear without having to fight pvp or suffer from taxes and stuff like that.
They need to developpe side jobs, which is also a way to suck up ressources from those top guilds, like cooking right now.
They also have to work around how a guild dominate a server, limiting it's overall domination by making it extremely hard to just monopolize everything, like, you can only chew so much right, and I actually thing that having small rosters of 70 people is great for that. If a guild of 70 people has to defend 3 territtories at the same time, then they are done for. Right ?
I played a french game "Dofus", guilds could gather extremely high wealth but there are so many ways to be rich that it doesn't matter, really. But the game has an incredible amount of content too..
Right now, the map is kinda small, there aren't that many ressources, lifeskill ways, or even ways to play the game in general, and that's a problem. But hey, he is young.
Issue is guilds aren't limited to 70 players. One guild can own 7 guilds as branch guilds, now they own 7 riftstones. This is a flawed game. However, I would suggest that if the defense was limited to a number of players you could bring, then it's more fair. A competent guild could win a 5v5 matchup, even a 25v25 etc. I'll give you an example from today's match. Our guild was attacking to take a riftstone from the rank 5 guild as rank 23...we lost miserably, due to numbers and gear, was about 50 of them vs 20 of us. Imagine now, if the number 1 guild had the next 9 ranked guilds as branch guilds with better gear and more people. This is how flawed the game is unfortunately.
Being allowed to do dungeons 3 times a day in a mmo is all the information you need to know about this cash grab with gacha mechanics.
3 isn't a problem, its that the combatbisnt fun and there's nothing else to progress of meaning in the game. There's no fashion, there's nothing to do. It's soulless. It's poorly planned and executed.
@higguma they made their whole grind system about real money currency.

it peaked at 330k on oct 1st tho? legit the first day it launched
Lost ark and New world peaked 1 million 💀
@@joroc yep LA peaked 1.33 million, 1 mil more than TL lol
"suddenly spiked to 300k players"
Totally like the actual none early access version of the game came out, surely it must be the bots and not the games real launch, surely
these clowns with these narratives need to be stopped lol
The game is cool, but there isn't much to do in it.
I’ve been playing for a week. I enjoyed it a lot. Just hit 50. Feel completely over whelmed. Can’t beat any level 50 dungeons, can’t get gear I feel like the only thing I can do is contracts and stare at pay wells. I’m not even close to the content you’re talking about and all I want to do is quit…..
When the map becomes bigger, top guilds won't be able to control everything. It is now that the objectives are limited that it is easy to dominate
Fear not my friend, Bartz Liberation is there to tell you that no dictator guild can hold a server xD
I dont like the combat in this game and the antialising is also bad
Saying p2w isn't an issue because p2w player can eventually be out numbered is like saying a gun isn't that much more powerful compared to a knife, if you got enough people fighting with a knife vs a single gunner.
So true and so funny 🤣
if you actually watched the video you would see that a better metaphor would be 1 person that uses a knife vs a bunch of players that use a smaller knife..
hes suggesting the power difference between p2w and a free player isnt very big but the p2w player is able to get gear faster.
@@JustinK0 Except he is forgetting that it could also be a bunch of players with knives vs a bunch of players with much smaller knives.
When you have a group of players that are p2w and form together, you will see what will happen.
W vomment
Really, the strong player got strong too because they're in a group. The idea of the solo whale is ridiculous because part of getting strong is staying in that top guild. So, you're not just going to find that person outnumbered. 😂 it was a bit silly but I agree with much of this video after 100 hours.
I like the game. It’s very fun to play because of the events and team dynamic. However, the combat to me is a little janky. I never really know what the hell is going on on my screen. I just spam healing and hotkey through my guild mates names. But, I just never really know what’s going on and the big guild fights seem like these big clunky clusters of animations and then I’m thrown in the air and CC’d for 10 seconds lol. It just feels bad honestly. I tried arena thinking smaller scale would be better, and it is but it still feels slightly off.. idk what it is. I just don’t really like it. PVE for me is great, I can get along fine with the controls and the feel as a range character. But yeah, the pvp system and combat to me just feels bad to play
I've said this in the past myself. The game is janky even with more AS and CD it still feels janky, probably because it was a borderline mobile game. The TL fan boys come in to defend the game like it's their profession when you poke at the combat.
The game has so many flashbacks to old mmorpgs. Especially ncsoft old lineage 2 but to many toxic pvp systems.
I love it how nowadays when games drop from 300k players to 100k players the game is labeled as ''dead'' immediately... whatever
i mean like yeah, it still has a few people playing, but any game losing 75% of their player base is considered
Not really, people like shroud bring thousands of players to the game, 90% of those will realize quick they arent into these games they just like watching shroud.
ESO has had around 60k people playing ans the world still feels very alive GW2 is another example not a giant playerbase but the feee feels alive @ralphym
@@ValiantMikey i never actually saw it that way🤣 great example brother
@ValiantMikey eso also uses skill based pvp and a faction war system...not this GvG, one alliance to rule them all, zerg ball crap
every game i end up sinking time into is destined to fail lmao
I assume Guild Wars 3 if it ever comes will be destined to win. 2 was so solid. Archeage 2 will fail :P Just my opinion.
You may as well play eso if you want good pvp or pve until Zenimaz release their new mmo.
@ i’ve played a lot of eso, more when i was young though. the questing is goated but the actual gameplay is just not it for me.
story of my life... as soon as i see how much i love it and move things around in my life so i can dedicate more time into it, shit hits the fan and its no longer fun or enjoyable to play...
Most the people I play with just do dungeons and don't really care about any of this. PVE casuals don't even know half the systems around guild v guild endgame and chasing 5 percent better gear to do...what?
We already know more pve dungeon stuff is coming, that's the draw, not pvp for some BIS weapon to do more pvp
Pve will eventually get stale, no fun in doing the same dungeon or kill same mobs in open world again and again. Until new patch in like 2 every months. PvP and fighting is what keeps mmo alive longer.
@ElvieNight Well, most of us pve players only play for about a month try out other games come back for a month repeat.
@@neoconker2k8I'm a destiny player and this is my new go to game when I run out of things to do in my main game every week or month
@k5hi59 Nice, I used to play Destiny a bunch. I kinda gave up after The Final Shape, though it was great .
But yeah people act like it's the end of the world when they run out of content , as if there aren't millions of other games to play and enjoy haha
@@neoconker2k8 yeah everyone always no life's the shit out of the new games until they burn out. A good game of this genre is one that you can play often for years. If you play it like a Halo 2 speed run then of course you will get upset. They aren't built the same.
2:41 Oh, so I can grind my ass off and still need a second player who also grinds his ass off to beat a pay2win player? lol
How much brainrot did the gaming community go through to delude themselves into thinking this was okay?
Literally the only thing that'll save this game is if they give players the ability to cash out Lucent for real world money. I bought the 20 dollar pack. Unlikely to spend more real world cash on it, since I'm really just here killing time before DUNE: Awakening releases. And even then, I'll just be killing time until the Horizon MMO is finished and ready to release.
T2 is much harder to grind and archboss weapons, the strongest guilds of course get them first and keep you out of every pvp content. The game design is just bad and failed in south korea because of this, kanon destroyed an whole server with his elite guild on sk servers. Then you have cheaters who use macros and perfect block, so even when you have the same gear and are skilled you loose in pvp.
😭 this game is doomed holy sht. So glad i got out early. I gave it many chances.
Unfortunately, people believe WoW is the standard for MMOs which in fact they aren't. WoW will always be the Playstation version of an MMO. They have completely stolen from EQ1 since it's inception. As over the years they stole things from EQ2 as well(including a dragon race, wow token, class fantasy, & the number of skills for each class). The way you described how this game with guilds reminds me of how EQ1 used to be in a way. I'm just glad there is something different for once besides WoW to pass time.
Absolutely 1000% agree on all points, exactly what I said on stream and everyone agreed.
First of all, P2W in this game, SO FAR, barely gives you a 5% advantage that people can catch up to in a week or two.
The massive guild focus might kill the game since the majority of the casual playerbase that keeps the game alive is not going to care about hardcore-ing guilds for PvP, and the game doesn't really have much more content than that, I do hope they spam more PvE uncontested content so the casuals stay and maaaaaaybe try out PvP.
This is exactly how and why amazing games like ArcheAge died, a handfull of people take over the content, your average casual player gives up and quits. It was fun freefarming servers till they emptied out and transferring to the next one, but horrible for the game's health.
Only solutions I can think of is to remove allies, limit guilds to 40 members and if you wanna recruit more you become a separate faction hostile to everyone else, and add a raid invite mechanic. Pugs rising up to contest the top guilds and giving everyone the chance to do content without having to sweat a guild. Having 500 people sitting outside of the conflict zone while a 50man guild is freefarming a boss is dumb, kinda need to hold their hands and make em group up and contest.
What is the math behind 5% advantage and how do you quantify that?
@@KAJYT6969 everyone heard that number from Shroud so its now the number everyone uses for their point. But as a player myself, I do not see any Pay2Win issue or it being unbalanced.
@@KAJYT6969 it's based on very scientific math equations called "feels about that amount"😂 thing is, the cash shop itself offers almost 0 advantages, in a week since launch I passively made more than enough lucent to buy both premium battlepasses, and I almost regret purchasing them instead of cosmetics. I'm not in a big guild or anything, random social guild for the xp and always running solo or with 1 mate.
Buying lucent itself to use in the AH is the *big issue* with P2W, which atm won't give you much of an advantage over someone that knows how and what to grind for. Farming for the right drops and traits is annoying but not impossible as a f2p. Buying em off the AH is obviously easierand faster, but you can still just grind lucent if you're f2p, by swiping you're just getting a quick advantage and just capping your progress faster.
Lastly, if you P2W lucent to buy stuff off the AH, you still need someone to sell them. If anything, big guilds keeping end game content on lockdown are a bigger problem than p2w since they'll be the ones making the big bucks especially early on
@@IcyZinHD again, how do you quantify 5% advantage? You so far have not provided anything to back that claim. Keep in mind that traits are the most important thing at endgame which we arent at yet. Once guild vs guild content happens, you will understand why it is a much bigger deal. Yes, lucent can be earned, but it is extremely timegated and like you said, painful. I don't see how you can possibly throw a number on something you yourself haven't even done.
@@WickedDKS the problem with this is that shroud thinks just because some things are timegated pay to win is automatically not a thing. Its a complete oxymoron because in KR you can completely skip the timegates which a lot of KR players have complained about and there are much bigger progression issues that we will have later down the line if they dont dripfeed the content as promised
I agree, we're currently on Amos and Idk if its happening for other servers, but theres one guild...one with 5 different branches. Each of them are maxed out with players. While that is probably fun being apart of it completely RUINS the idea of competing. And the way the people operate as a whole....no ones gonna rise to fight them, at most 3 groups would form max number guilds and join with the 5 as an alliance. And for other servers, Im almost willing to bet that if this isnt happening, then the top DIFFERENT guides are playing under the same banner. This type of system just doesnt work anymore. Ppl arent competitive anymore.
In NAE, the servers whisperion, las lan and magna, are dominated by a handful of guilds with 5+ branches. On Magna it's a guild name focus. They have like 7-10 guilds. On Whisperion it's a guild called Sigma. They have 7. On las lan I haven't been to but I heard they have the same problem. And Ironically, the early access servers that had streamers in it, are good to play. The streamers pushed out these mega guilds out because they did the same thing and pushed them out.
Dude i just started playing a day ago and im on the whisperion server........tell me youre kidding ??? Cause i HATE guilds @deustauries
Theres at least 7000 players in a server, 100 guilds 70 players each. Top players will always be the minority in these cases, if everyone all worked for the common goal of dethroning them, then it's possible.
@@deustauries yup the guild is called empherium or something like that.
Eventually they will turn on eachother because one gets jealous and wants the top spot. Happens in every single pvp mmo i.e. new world, wow and GW2
I totally agree with you, once the honey moon phase end for the people who just look for new MMOs and play them for 1 or 2 months then go back to their main games, that alone will nuke the player base and we're already seeing servers getting fully dominated by alliances so that's not 70 people but 140 or more and just today so many guilds moved servers.
I've never seen a game where being Hardcore and active is mandatory, many players joining chill guilds they are getting the worst experience of their life during Conflict events, and adding to that the fact that the only PvE content is mindless grind or 3 dungeon runs per day where the bosses are literally target dummies.
In my opinion they really should invest in a solid and engaging PvE content to the level of WoW or FFXIV or Lost Ark to maintain those players who doesn't care about PvP otherwise it will turn to a small niche game with a very small community not being able to do any sieges or anything just like New World
It's too late. They already made the mistake and it's not reversible. They'd have to gut the combat system entirely and idk if they're willing to do it. They'd have to redo classes entirely. Redo all bosses and pve mechanics and turn the game action combat. Then add lots of customization to clothes and make more social roleplaying things to do. It just wasn't thought out enough. They focused on pvp and monetization instead of fun, pve, and the rpg part of MMORPG.
I just want a PVE mmo. No pvp. Archeage 2 supposedly will be pve focused 😅 hopefully, i really liked that game until the whales started blocking trade cart routes 😢 The pve in that game was phenomenal, owning homes and paying taxes, farming, trade caravans, the high seas...and illegal farming in secret places hoping no one would find your banana trees 😂😂😂
It’s exactly what happened in Albion Online, except back when I played the game had a “mega-server” where everyone just played in a server in America. It could get laggy and clusterfucky but playing with everyone in the same server is what kept it alive. But ever since they introduced other region servers the game it’s slowly bleeding out players. Now let alone a game like T&L where there’s multiple regions with 10’s of servers game will be dominated by 0.1% of the players, the casuals or the midcore players will feel there’s no reason to keep playing. Hopefully I’m wrong because more dead MMO’s means less investment in future MMO’s.
Quite enjoying the game so far, let's see how this goes. Time will tell.
So am I! It’s wonderful
How is it now?
Are you still playing the game?

I'm not trying to come at you as hostile. I think that you created the narrative that only one guild will always dominate the server but never explained why.
Why can't several guilds fight for the top spot?
I have played many MMOs and it's always at the very least a handful of groups fighting for the top spot.
So I don't understand this worry that only one guild will dominate forever and all other guilds have no chance.
It doesn't have a prescedent.
Again, not trying to be annoying, just wanted to give you my view on the topic and your video.
Exactly if 3 guilds create an alliance that top guild will lose lol
@@Onechanzetoliveyea but the top guild has alliances too

It’s the whole rich get richer my guy. If the smaller guilds can’t win they get no rewards ie they can’t compete
Zerg alliances. So the usual alliance plus “enemy” guilds join together they make it so they can have well over 280 people in there alliance. It’s horrendus
I don't agree with that. No one is forced to play pvp modes. You can just play without pvp aspect and your good. Sure a good and active guild will give you many stuff that people without won't become but still.. your not forced. At the end of the day you can decide how you play the game and in what pace.
How does it feel to have a boot in your mouth? The game literally punishes those who don't join guild-especially if you're in a weak inactive guild. Your progression and power and the content you can engage in is severely limited. You will hit a number of bottlenecks in both power and content. There's already not enough content variety, you have even less without a guild and pvp.
And the combat and little content left without those isnt engaging or great. Just go play elden ring at that point.
True I enjoyed game I and my friend were in active guild , but as soon as we had to go back to work at workdays and only could play at weekends and 1.5 hour - 2 hour per day they starting kicking us out. Also after hitting 50 it become really grind and kinda feel easy to burn out from. All u do look at gear u need for u build and grind for it non stop it feels like there is chill side missing from this game like in other games, like in deapth relaxing life skilling, or house building or some other sort of casual content there is non of that here. There is fishing and cooking that instead of being relaxing is somehow even more painful that grinding mobs .
The designers of this game come in 2 parts. The graphic team: ✅️
The gameplay design systems team: 🤢
Few hours before of this video's release I had deleted the game because of realizing that is gonna be the issue. I was in the rank 2 guild and I saw the rank 1 guild had already tripled the score of our guild in 2 days (f2p server). So after checking the rankings and knowing how the guild system is I immediately deleted the game.
Give them time as soon as people start complaining, they will take notes and do something about it
Right now is stability of the servers the game just came out
wise choice

Throne and Liberty feels like Guild Wars 3 in a LOT of ways. That said, GW2 this was the case in World Versus World, with guilds dominating and servers dominating. Much has changed in the way they formed the pool of servers and such, but still. I don't think it will be the downfall, and certainly not the end of the whole game. I think they really have a shot. It is a great game. It did ALOT right that I still don't hear anyone talking about.
This game will be another dead mmo in less than a year
he open minded....I AM NOT. mmo thrives off of pve with pvp being 2nd. Try to swap it and u get TNL. I think alot of the stuff with pvp is cool however it should never force or gate keep pve players from pve content. Thats why the game will die....plus lack of meaningful things to do with only 3 dungs a day. Granted Sauradoma Island at night has chest for more dimensional coins which means more dungs but its now pvp. So once again u block a pve centric item with pvp content. Make it make sense. Funny part is pvp guys are typically weak asf and migrate to servers where they can dominate running from dominated servers so they aint even abt the smoke really. They just want toxicity and easy wins. Game will die as it did in KR
Really thought provoking comment. The pvp blocking pve is like a cruel joke. The entire concept for this game seems like it was written by a sadist. Every systen this game is anti pve. Pve only exists to give the pvp players something to grief kill for fun. Everyone is a hamster and a krill. Do your chores before bed as a game. Insult to injury is the combat isn't even fun or engaging. Click your buttons off cooldownn and that's it. There's not much to it.
I understand they want people to join guilds but I think that if for gvg events if they made teams of randos like during the dominion events to go against the organized guilds that would be so much more fun. It could be used by players without guilds or by people in smaller guilds who stand no chance against the larger guilds on their own. This would mean you could have a guild of close friends instead of it being mandatory to have 70 players to compete. These teams of randos would still likely lose against an organized guild unless they all teamed together against the organized players but the guilds would have to work for it and it would let those more casual players still experience this large scale conflicts. If the team of randos won instead of whatever benefits the guild gets for winning a smaller version of that could be spread around the entire server. This would encourage people who might not have cared about these events before to want to join in, in the hope that they can win a server buff for themselves.
I lead a guild with my friends, we manage to stay in the top 20, although it's casual to me right now it's possible to play with them but as time comes I can see myself having to abandon them to join a top guild simply because of the content lock that starts to be more visible day by day. The worst thing is the top 10 is dominated by one guild spread out through an alliance, so even making your own alliance to contest PVP objectives is virtually impossible since it would require 4 other guilds to participate.
Game does not really have enough content to do and everything is gated which is meh.
Wtf are you.talking about? Straight up you have never played this game. Has more content than most MMOs currently out lol. Fuck off
It's an on growing mmo lol tf you think they gonna jus stop creating content ? There's already a large expansion otw

I cant do anything they restrict everyhting with time, dungeons, guild application, events, items, even character deletion. Pleass respect your own time and dont rely to this company
It's been 1 month since this video. Game still top in steam charts. It seems that people like the idea of forming big guilds and communities oppossed to playing MMOs 'solo' and 'solo shuffles'
The game started with 300k players now it barely has over 100k, counting bots, which are rampant with f2p mmos in one year or probably even less. This game will be dead and buried.
I truly love this guy, finally a guy that talking facts. I totally 100% agree with you in everything you say, except 1 thing. In every Lineage2 server I have played, the best guild on the server always had strong enemy's that was created by the disturbed little guilds that where owned by them. For example I've played on a server on which the best guild dominated everything for a short while, until 3 little guilds combined and created a guild that fought that guild and pushed them back. Every time there is something like this happening always is going to be somebody that's going to stand up against them, trust me.
Guilds are going to kill it. Once the no life mega guilds get the monopolies on the event bosses you wont be able to keep up as a casual.
It's a new level of pay to win. You either pay and play as a job or no life the game to get into a top guild to have a chance at progressing. You're like Princess Leia and the guild is Jabba the Hutt.
Lets not even talk about the macro issue and the gap between console and PC targeting.
@higguma yep, i stopped playing weeks ago. Glad i did because some guilds are keeping all the boss loot and kicking out all the guild members so the founders can keep the loot. Guilds and the monetization are why the game failed in korea.
its a mmo in its infant stages. i fell like these games take awhile to reach there potential. loving the graphics
Global isnt pay to win atleast not yet. If you hate the game, just uninstall it, bruh. This is the best mmo in a really long time. No auto questing, no gender locked classes, no stamina system preventing you from playing, no gacha bullshit. Just be thankful and move tf on with your life. I and others started this game late, unfortunately, because we listened to people like you cry over this and that about the game, and tbh it's actually not a bad game, wish I wouldve started sooner. Ya'll have no idea how terrible mmorpg have become over the years.
Sht games like BDO, ESO and other garbage mmo are no where near as good as this game. Global launch is the best time to start and play this game because over time all the newer players will become vets, this wont die anytime soon. KR version went strong and so will the global version. Also guess what every online game will eventually die at some point in its existence and other mmorpg will rise up from the ashes of the old ones, are you going to make a video about every other game in existence too? Its common sense. This game is a much needed breath of fresh air, its hitting just right. Keep making vids like this and you will eventually end up filling out a McDonalds application because nomore youtube money coming in.
people are uninstalling dont worry have fun with your game, itll last 3 months
Tokens are the stamina system
😂 this is Hilarious. Bro is mad they're teasing his game of choice 😭 sob
It won't just be one top guild at the top of each server. It'll be several top guilds all competing for those world bosses at the same time. I think this was designed intentionally with the goal of starting guild vs guild large scale PvP fights at the center of it and I think that will largely be a good thing. Yes there will likely be a struggle getting into one of those top guilds but some people become inactive over time and they get removed so more active players will get a chance. There is also the fact that some guilds rise and others fall and if you still can't get into one of the top guilds just make your own.
I expect it to be more like a head of onyxia situation only not as bad where everyone who grinds or swipes hard enough does get a turn. It'll just take a really really long time. This won't kill the game but it will make endgame content more difficult to get into.
I hope you see this Gizmo! Basically I’m on a server Magna Na east, and there is a guild called focus prime, they own 9 top guilds in the server, the top 3 “prime” farm kills and guild wars on there other lower lvl guilds and basically have the monopoly. Anyone that gets involved with pvp loses to one of the 9 or so other guilds that they have. We actually don’t know what to do. And I love pvp but not, it feels impossible to fight.
Eh, I don't mind a single guild (70) bodying every single other guild. I think the problem is when a guild that is actually spread in 3 or 4 guilds befriend each other and dominate the server. You can always come together as different guilds and befriend each other in order to take down the big ones. Something that I'd kinda like to see is the inability for the top 5 or top 10 guilds to befriend anyone, but giving a good incentive to still wanting to be in said top 5 or 10; this way people will still try to be amongst the top but would be slightly harder to maintain it
I get where your coming from but do you have a idea on how to solve the issue?
They will not fix it because the issue is the core design philosophy of the game. They didn't consider that their game would cannibalize itself when they put all the bs and lack of engaging pve content. The game is basically locked away from the casual player. You can't even play the game it's just a pretty vista.
The funniest thing is the lithograph system. Content creators made it seem like you had a chance as a f2p player to make in game money. But the truth is this only lasted the first few weeks when people were buying green and blue gear and the market was alive and before bots. As the guilds got stronger, they get to the content that you cant even engage in. You can't sell gear that you will likely never roll because you cant engage the content/ get the items to roll it at any significant chance.
New world PVP war had the same problem where the best company owns the server literally they can set stupidly high taxes and own every territory. In the case of new world Bonzai company went on to dominate every popular server as they allow server transfer which means the strongest company can spread to multiple servers
As I like a casual PVP I find the combat clunky. Skills not well connected the melee is cringe not so smooth And only xbow can consider it a viable weapon . Already has 60k loss and steam charts did not make the great boom but we shall see what will happen .
So TL is basically L2 politics but in a newer version. Whoever played L2 knows it.
But missing all the good parts of L2.
l2 was way more complex then this game... l2 is active still today on private servers.
I played NCSofts Aion for years and most people didnt care too much for the Legions that were dominating the server, like capturing the keeps and getting their own dungeon for more PvP items ect
I completely forgot about Aion! I played that a ton as well
The early stages of Aion was so good, when it launched it was such a great game.
I agree. This has been the reality for nearly all games with this design. What is the fix? How do you keep that exclusive content as enticing to top guilds while still making it accessible to less hard-core guilds. I think weekly guild bosses is an excellent step in the right direction. It won't help with Arch-Bosses obv. So, what do we do. What is the system that gives the rank 20 guild a fighting chance at content that is cuckolded by the top guild and their 5 subguilds that are all alligned?
I feel the same! I/We hit the wall....we are a small group of friends in a guild where there are 20 players online on average, and we do not want to migrate into a big guild. We are maxed (best in slot) without Belandir weapons, but everything else. Dudes, it is boring; we are just missing the fun of the game! At this scale, you can`t do anything: you can`t loot Saurodoma chest, you can`t defeat word boss, ... 4 Russian guilds dominate my server, and only they are playing the game, and that`s it.
We start to play Metin again, if you can believe it...I really enjoyed this game in the beginning, but now it is really boring...we enter the game, buy materials, play some dungeons, and do some pvp in guild house...
I agree with everything!! I quit today after 100 hours. Just can't stand these dailies homerwork-grind.
There's already a top griefer guild in my server. They actively take over world bosses and have a party of top pvp player who's job is to just kill anyone who get into the world boss area
As much as I like to agree the game a year ago today has improved and changed that much in such a short amount of time and I think that developers already talked about this and they want to address it. I just say give it time honestly they seem dedicated to fix their game And the fact that they’ve done this much work in the little amount of time they had in a year it’s kind of impressive
They are giving server tockens for free to switch between servers, may be they plan to mix servers with more active guilds and players together in the future and build community and compatetion stronger.
All we need is at minimum, 2 mega alliances on a server. This would make guild recruitment more flexible and you could have a sub group of top PvPers to play the smaller scale critical PvP objectives while the "horde" of lower skilled players would thrive in the larger scale PvP content.
Look at games like Albion and Eve Online, there are a few mega alliances that constantly get to engage with fun PvP content. They do PvP right. Anyone can just sign up and join a mega alliance and enjoy top tier PvP content because numbers and coordination > individual skill at the end of the day.
Maybe it's my inexperience with MMO's, but I feel like player should be more open to joining the top guilds. Guilds should have a massive player cap. And as for guild Combat, I feel like the server would choose a select number of the present members of each Guild to participate in the events.
Sounds.... fun..... 😁😁yay have someone else play all the new content while I just watch from the bleachers.
PvP is what drives mmo, open world players killing is what makes mmo amazing, the realistic violence where going anywhere to farm could end up in you getting beaten up, BUT it is the benefits of killing a red name player and having them drops their items is what makes PvP worth it. This game is a pve mmo, pve game dies off in less than 1-2 years because after you max out there’s nothing to do on a pve mmo but repeats what you’ve already done for a whole year. Eventually you get bored and play less, because there’s no conflicts but the same repeated daily objectives, with a few “must be on time” events
There might be a way around this, if the second strongest guild gathers allied guilds and you have 2 roughly evenly matched alliances fighting each other. Not best solution, but at least it will be contestable. What worries me more, however is catch-up mechanics. Maxing a character as f2p is going to take months of grinding in the game's current state. Epic gear II is comming out and there is also purple cap increase to 12... Imagine, if this game is alive 2 years later, ppl starting the game 2 years after launch, having to fight players with maxed gear and stats... It is going to be very demorazliing...
"The p2w guy will lose if he is outnumbered" Wow incredible, guess there is no problem afterall if you just have to dedicate way more time and outnumber them to win.
That won't happen though. A fully kitted guild of 70 will dominate a bunch of undergeared players even if they reach the hundreds 😂 Unless you have an equally competitive guild that isn't an ally to the first guild, you're not going to beat them regardless of numbers. While numbers are important, it's useless if you aren't in a competent guild and equally geared.
@@BoredAndBrowsing yeah, but it nearly alwyas happens that top 3 guilds are in good terms and try to distribute the map between themselves.
I literally had no idea about all of this. Was having a good time but just instantly uninstalled and not touching this crap again. Thanks for saving my time
Generations ago, thousands of men stormed the beaches of normandy to overcome the Axis powers, eventually allowing the west to win world war two. THEY were destined to fail, but they didn't. That is the strength of the human spirit.
Now, modern MMO players can't even fathom overcoming a guild alliance in a video game. What the fuck has gone wrong with people in the west? Have some motivation, stand up for yourself and others and fight for something you believe in. That's what this whole game is about, it's about standing up to overwhelming odds and resisting tyranny. It's not just some bullshit set dressing like it is in WoW, the game really is about that.
If your server has a toxic guild alliance, organise and TAKE THEM DOWN! That's the point of the game! It's the whole entire point. If that doesn't sound like fun to you then that's okay, but don't make out like the game is flawed because you lack the character to rise up and do something that matters.
I love u. Your are loved. What server are u in big boy ?
it's not about merit or character. it's about visa or mastercard
This doesnt work on the internet.
"Something that matters". In a P2W game full of bots and scripts for auto parry etc ??? People just don't think the game worth enough to fight against all this bullshit, there is a lot of other games and activities that matter much more and give better return.
@@Ricardo-pb7kcthe game just sucks in too many ways for anyone to care. Even the fact that there are so few critiques shows the community doesn't exist around this game. You'd expect more buz around a new free to play mmo on console cross platform. Guess their marketing wasn't great.
I never pvp in MMOs so this all sounds like an issue I’ll never see. I just play solo and level. Once I hit lvl cap I’ll probably stop until an expansion or something comes out.
Lol you can get lvl cap in 3h
@@TheRetristno u cant? maybe if u have people helping u sure
@@xzeraCS i dont know 3h bu i have seen ppl hitting max within 5-6 hours no problem. It dorsnt matter if it is 3 or 6 hours for mmo it is still really quick and game just starts at 50 lvl.
@@xzeraCS btw if you plan quit after lvl cap i dont know why u playing, for story? 😂 dont waste your time, play something else
wrog game for u then bruh go to genshin impact
I have seen competitiveness thrive the most in these scenario of guild dominations, guilds with 10 branches all filled with players in other mmos losing their dominance to alliances created in server.
I put in 100 hours and quit. The boring daily task become a chore and time consuming. But if you stop doing them your progress is hindered. For a MMORPG it lacks freedom of choice. The devs designed the game around how they want you to play. When you snap out of the honey moon stage you realize you were never swimming in the ocean it was a fish bowl the entire time.
The fact this game has tons of small group and solo content kinda fixes this issue though. World bosses will get dominated by a guild but that’s only the conflict ones. There’s peaceful ones too, there peaceful events and arranged small group PvP events. Dungeons, guild raids. There’s plenty here that doesn’t involve GvG large scale combat. I believe NCsoft did a great job adding more than guild PvP
Capture and holding points in a Guild Vs Guild battleground would be dope. Idk if that exists already though.
I do think people exaggerate this issue a bit. I'd understand if pvp world bosses was the only way, but you can world boss during peace events and it's fine. yeah, you need to be well geared for your contributions to be worth getting drops but that's the point. if you're solo, like me, grind the content you can, finish your build THEN worry about upgrading to boss drops, or don't. you don't NEED them. global is still in tier 1 gear with tier 2 on the way, so even if you get boss drops now, it's likely that the tier 2 gear will make them obsolete. or at least offer an alternative. hell, there's a lot of builds out there whose best in slots are blue gears because the purple alternatives just don't exist in the game yet.
also, as a solo player, I went into the gaming KNOWING this was a guild focused game. anyone upset by that is their own fault. it wasn't a mystery that TL was going to be guild focused. all you have to do is ask yourself, is guild content drops worth the headache? no? then why stress it? guilds wanna control a whole server? what's that got to do with lil ol me soloing crypt until nightfall then hoping out and doing some co-op dungeons or playing a different game entirely until day comes back around? at the end of the day, if you don't enjoy guilds running your server you should've picked a different game. I don't really care personally. Level 50, one co-op dungeon drop away from finishing my first build, fully traited and level 9'd, then gonna grind up a second build with different weapons for small scale pvp just to have fun and prepare for new content coming in. I have yet to run into any big guilds stopping me from being able to play the game. and there's definitely one on my server because world chat is filled with people crying and raging and calling each other dogs.
