    Hi there! Good to be back in Costa Rica with you! La Fortuna looks great. Loved the Volcano Trail, a slumbering giant of a mountain! And also the waterfall and sloths! As you say expensive, but worth every penny as it's helping to save these special places!

    • @KittiandJon
      @KittiandJon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! We flew to San Jose and then just took buses everywhere. We only took taxis on a few occasions when buses weren't an option but that was pretty rare 😊 the buses in Costa Rica are generally pretty good 👍

  • @bjdeng2646
    @bjdeng2646 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the great video. We plan to visit La Fortuna without a rental car. May we ask how easy it would be get a taxi from a tourist site back to the hotel area? How good is the internet signal in the national parks?

    • @KittiandJon
      @KittiandJon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! That’s great 😊 It’s easier at some places than others for sure. The waterfall for example gets quite a lot of taxi traffic so that shouldn’t be a problem. The Arenal Park gets way less though. Best bet is to organise a pick up time with your driver when you are on your way there. In all likelihood they will probably ask you because it means more money for them! Signal is spotty at best once you’re out of town so we wouldn’t rely on being able to call for a taxi after your trip. Hope that helps!

    I am going tp LaFortuna in two weeks with my husband and another couple. Can you drive from town straight to the volcano trails? I saw that you took a ferry> We will have a car. Can you share the name of the tour company that you used for the Bogarin Trail? So excited for our trip!

    • @KittiandJon
      @KittiandJon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can drive straight from town to the volcano trails. We took a taxi to get to them. The ferry crossing is part of the journey from Monteverde to La Fortuna which is how we arrived to La Fortuna. So yes you can definitely drive to the volcano trails 👍 for the Bogarin trail they have their own tour guides that you can hire when you book. You just have to book a guided tour and not the self guided entrance at bogarintrail.com/booking/ 😊 have a fantastic trip!

      @KittiandJon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and leaving such a lovely comment 😊 We stayed in an Airbnb just south of the main plaza. Staying anywhere in and around the centre of La Fortuna would be best if you don't have a car, as you'll find the most taxis around the main square for getting around👍most tours will be able to pick you up from the centre too. Hope that helps and have a great time! 😊👍

    Hello Kitti and Jon , next November I will travel to Costa Rica on vacation, can you tell me what permits I need to be able to fly and record with my DJI mini 2 drone? Good video

    • @KittiandJon
      @KittiandJon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! 😊🙏 you don't need any permits as long as you aren't flying for commercial purposes. If it's just for recreational use then you should be fine. Register it with the DGAC if you want to be on the safe side and don't fly in any no fly zones such as Arenal Volcano etc. Enjoy your trip to Costa Rica 🇨🇷😊

    • @KittiandJon
      @KittiandJon  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! 😊 we spent about 3 hours hiking at the volcano (we did the long route so maybe less time for the shorter route) and you probably need about 2 hours at the waterfall including time to admire it at the bottom. That doesn't include hiking to/from the town to the entrance though if you want to do that. It took us just over an hour to hike back down to town from the waterfall. Have a great trip!! 😊🇨🇷

      Yeah I think you’re right. Just checked it against a search for waterfalls in Bali and it does look a lot like one of them. Found the clip under stock footage for Costa Rica which is a bit disappointing.
