    I got mine today, with the USB-C cable. I'm currently watching this video with it. I don't have a lot of headphones but I compared it with my Sony MDR 1R. It truly sounds amazing! The kph40 makes the 2xx dollar Sony sound like an old radio. It may give the mid to low sound a tiny reverb, so it may make a lower female voice sound bassy, but it is a lot more accurate than the Sony one in other frequencies, I'm quite happy with it, especially for the price. The USB-C cable is a must buy, it has a 24bit 96khz DAC built-in, I think this is the reason it sounds better with my phone. I heard there's no DAC for the apple version.

    In this case, balanced has nothing to do with interference. The important thing here is that each driver has its own connection, as you mention in the video, and that allows using a dac/amp in bridge mode to increase the amount of power to feed the headphone. In no case is the noise eliminated (for that you need 3 cables per driver and an electronic device that inverts the signal in the earphones).

    • @ThatOneAudioGuy
      @ThatOneAudioGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. It doesn't make a lot of sense to make a cheap little portable headphone like properly balanced.

    As an accountant in my opinion, the reason why some companies price accessories to the point of being unreasonable is because of the cost to create them and keep them in stock.
    When a manufacturer creates a product in bulk, there is less cost involve to start creating the next batch since no additional setup is required. But when only a few people are buying certain accessories and they created in the same factory, the cost of halting production just to create a few accessories is not only time-consuming but also costly.
    That said, I dunno the justification for the $40 price tag. Because of this pricing, a third-party could take this opportunity and just create one for much cheaper. They could have outsourced a third party for the other cables if it's that expensive to make on their end.
