Very different, yes, but for me the KPH30i is much, much more satisfying to listen with. It's got a nice open, wide stage. @@SuperReview which iem would you suggest that'll complete a combo of two. A different (possibly neutral) sound signature but budget price and good audio quality?
I got a pair of these recently. They're basically a much superior version of the headphones I would have used in the '80s with a cheap Aiwa or Panasonic Walkman or whatever. They have some very nice, deep, tight bass for a pair of lightweights, and the whole spectrum sounds quite clear and non-fatiguing. These are the definition of fun headphones. The trouble is the very delicate sort of build, but also resilient, and the minor leakage, but they're easy as hell to drive. The cable is very thin, but I don't recall the '80s Walkman foam headphones having anything much sturdier, generally. For the money though, they are phenomenal walking around, shopping, hike in the park etc. headphones. They lay on your ears, not a tight seal but they generally stay on. If you do not want to take a hike to the grocery store and have your heavy planar headphones on your head, these will substitute very nicely. To me, these actually sound 1000x better than the metallic and harsh-sounding Audio Technica MH50xs that I bought and recently returned, which is pretty shocking. One thing that baffles me though, is why Koss cannot figure out a new pair of larger, closed-back headphones that are built better and sound like a larger version of these, with similar drivers? Or even, open-backs? Their studio size phones are apparently, not very good these days. But yet, these and the PortaPros are outstanding sounding phones, but never with a really durable build quality, of course. However, if these are "disposable" modern lightweights, then you are getting some of the finest-sounding lightweights ever made. I ran these out of my iPhone 8 lightning output, although, they proved that the iPhone 8 amp power is pretty weak. Believe it or not, these still might benefit from adding a decent headphone amp. I ran them from my PC and my Fiio A5 amp and the KPHs sounded really sharp and musical. A warm, bass-centric sound. I just wouldn't expect them to last 15 years.
I just picked up -- yesterday! -- a pair of Koss UR40, which is kind of what you're describing. I think they're even more cheaply built than the KPH30i, but sound is pretty solid. Same driver as KSC75 supposedly.

They seem to concentrate on budget and light headphones, which is fine, but they aren't remotely in the same league anymore as Sennheiser, Beyer, Grado, Hifiman, or Audeze or any of these companies, or AKG.
In my experience, it seems to give a headphone a wider soundstage, stronger sense of space between different sounds and stronger sense of position. Additionally, closed-back headphones seem to have issues with internal reflections that leads to muddier sound (probably related to the first point).

@@thiscorrosion900 How are they after 2 years? Do they last at least a year if careful?
@@daburabu308 I wouldn't trust it. I would say up to the freshness date and then get rid of 'em.
What does open back does to sound quality/preference?
In my experience, it seems to give a headphone a wider soundstage, stronger sense of space between different sounds and stronger sense of position. Additionally, closed-back headphones seem to have issues with internal reflections that leads to muddier sound (probably related to the first point).
Do they leak sound? And is it worth getting these if the kcs75 are half the price (where I live)?
They leak a bit, they are open headphones. As for this vs. KSC75, I did a comparison: th-cam.com/video/PBaAabzgoSk/w-d-xo.html
@@SuperReview thanks for replying :)
Are these for mixing? Or just listening?
Listening
Please indulge me hear . What should KOSS Had Named Them .
The Koss ChromaWave
Which are better for sound quality between this and the original sennheiser momentum?
I haven't heard the Momentum. Looks like it's a closed-back headphone, so probably I would prefer the Koss.
@@SuperReview it's a closed back 350€ from 2012. I was curious since I own them and I'd like to know if the koss would be a good fit as throw them in the backpack headphones and if they break just buy them new since they are so cheap. Still thank you for the response
@Mr Music I ordered them 3 hours ago 😂😂. I hope they don't get stopped at customs because they are 2€ above tax free import (ffs). 22€ and below is tax free, above u have to pay customs and they will cost me 47€ after that
@Mr Music italy. We have customs above 22€ (shipping included). Ikd about the rules in your country
Can we get dimensions for a maximum size head?
Not sure how to measure that in a useful way.
@@SuperReview lol. My failed attempt at being funny
In that case...
I've never used it, but I believe you have to mail them at your expense to get a replacement. so that warranty isn't as good as it seems depending on the product price. correct me if I'm wrong.
That's true. With USPS, shipping to Koss is ~$8.
Ordered bruh ..ma friend suggested..how com such cheap ones are great ...remember the car Breaking bad Prof.Walter white uses similar Color...texture
They pretty good.
Lmfao im dead this is so funny im watching this review while in the midst of rewatching breaking bad
Guten morgen. So those could be similar to ksc-75 with headband ?
Similar, but sound is different. KSC75 is a brighter sound with more emphasis on treble, KPH30i is a bit warmer with more emphasis on mid-bass. Both have a nice open sound.
Much bassier honestly, helps the sound not get drowned out though when you're out in public/slightly noisy areas :)
Do these need an amp?
No, they should run well off of most any source. They work well with an amp, though.
I bought mine last week for $25 on eBay. The wire already have a memory when I unboxed them. Do you have any tips on how to straighten the cable?
I left mine on the edge of a table and let the cable dangle below, it helped.
Super* Review thanks.
these or grado ?))
Frankly... I'll take KPH30i.
The Bass Is Not And Hard Hitting As The Porta Pros Bass But It Is For Me Very Good And So Ya Ya Very Nice .
Can't buy this in my country. I think they ship this from US. It would be great if it came from china like my Samson SR 850
Tbh I'd say it's better quality since it's from the US but that means nothing if there's no availability; sorry man, but enjoy those SR850s!!
@@SiamHossain7 i saw the older stuff such as porta pros/ksc75 are shipped from china. Maybe they just moved to u.s factories recently.
@b0ng yea i checked out its not worth it if I'm the only one buying. I could join some group buys to save some cash on shipping
You can take off these foam pads and wash with soap for softness
If you want soft, check out Yaxi pads.
I can't imaging a single thin cable running through one of the sides of these headphones 😂 I guess 2 thin cables gives piece of mind 😂
What about 1x double-thick cable? 👀
@@SuperReview 👀👀👀 that would work
But then you have to make a wire go from one driver on the headband to the other driver

Please take a look at koss pro 4s

I have a pair. They are a good gaming headset. The sound quality is decent, especially if you equalize them.
What EQ adjustments do you make?
@@SuperReview I use Equalizer APO and HeSuVi. It comes with some calibrations for headphones from Inner Fidelity and other source.

yall better add yaxi pads on em! it'll be even better! I swear!
I like 'em on Porta Pros, less important for KPH30i IMO.
If I have the Porta Pros is this worth getting?
Depends on your goal, there's a lot of overlap. I prefer the sound of KPH30i, but I think the Porta Pro can be improved by getting Yaxi pads.

That's amazing your cat walked across the keyboard and typed out those random words in succession.
This is batter then sennheiser px100?

These have great potential unfortunately the shitty pads leaks the bass severely.
Pardon.
So I Have To Ask You
What Is Wrong With The Name
Needs a cool name, like the Koss Jam.
A headphone review aimed to using them just for the microphone and not stay in the way of external speaker sound? Really?
Realllllllly?
... amazon headphones.. really.. that’s insulting.. these headphones are better than grado anything.
Ha ha, it's a pretty rude comparison.
@@SuperReview You could argue they *look* like amazon headphones perhaps.... But sound is a whole other thing...
I own a half dozen of these wonderful headphones, but I'm not sure why you have the annoying music playing in the background? Turn it off.

these aren't that great. and they really hurt after 30 mins on your head. these are the kind of headphones you would want to wear outside but you can't because of the open back so why not just buy over the ear quality headphones for indoor use. don't waste your money. 3.5 out of 5.
😢
Waste what money? You got a better alternative for 30 bucks? 20 bucks? Cause they're 20 bucks right now. If you can provide me an alternative that's far and away better, over ear, more comfortable, and with better sound for the same price, I'll buy it instantly.

These headphones are really well marketed. They look cute but are nothing like in the reviews: uncomfortable to wear and the sound is plain bad. The sound is very close to the ears, is not sibilant but sharp, and they have zero soundstage. Basically, they are unpleasant to use. But great marketing, no doubt they are very good at getting reviewers to rave about these cheap toy quality headphones.
Please point me to all this Koss marketing.

SoundCore Space Q45 My Take
For Wired Passive Listening I'm Using ZFold3 To Hidizs S9 Pro DAC AMP DONGLE To Space Q45 And WOW AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied .
The Q45 ANC is really good SoundCores best yet Right Up There With My XM3s .
The Space Q45 sound while punchy is not as punchy as the Life Q35 In The Bass Department .
The Bass Up Feature can't currently be used with Custom EQs So it's Pointless for my Uses .
We Can Listen To These Wired Passively (Powered Off) And The Q45s Sound Absolutely Amazing This Way .
The LDAC Sounds Really Good And Gives Wired Listening A Run For It's Money .
We Lose Many Features Of The Life Q35 With The Space Q45 . Hopefully A Firmware Update(s) Will Give These Lost Functions To The Q45 . The Q45s Are Heavier With Much Less Cushioning On The Top Where As The Q35 Are Lighter With More Cushioning On Top So Comfort Goes To Q35 .
Both Q35 And Q45 Have Excellent Sound With The Q45 Punching Hard And The Q35 Punching Harder .
I Enjoy Them Both . Amazon Has Q35 111 Dollars With Discounts And Q45 129 dollars With Discounts .
You Can Turn Up The Q45s Bass With Custom EQs But Nothing I've Done Has Made The Q45s As Punchy As The Q35s .
For Most I Think You'll Be More Than Happy With The Q45s Bass . I Know I Am .
A Blue Variant And A White Variant Are Said To Be Forthcoming So I'll Most Def Be Snagging Them In White .
