I had the privilege of scoring Eliezra's card for a round at worlds. What an incredible asset to disc golf. Announced on the tee at hole one as "Sponsored by mom" and was her caddie. Power, finesse, and a great attitude. I hope nothing but the best for her.
I'm excited for the future of FPO with her and that one girl from Oregon that pops up in my suggested TH-cam videos who can crush 500. It will put some excitement in that field.
Could Jomez or another disc golf channel do a distance challenge where the forehand and backhand is combined? 5 throws forehand, 5 throws backhand, add up the best forehand and the best backhand, and whoever has the most distance wins obviously. You guys have mentioned something of the sorts a couple times on broadcast and I think it would be pretty cool to watch. Just to see who has the beef in both. Love you guys
Firstly, thank you Jomez for uploading this event! Kevin's consistency says a lot! And we have seen him use that on the course :) Now... AB... An animal! And also prety darn straight! I can see this dude dominating Major's this year and years to come!
I got to meet Eliezra at an event she is a very nice girl, with good family behind her. She gave me a disc out of her bag. Which was an unreleased disc at the time. She throws way further than I could ever throw. Can't wait to see what the future holds for her in disc golf.
I watched Eliezra (Via TH-cam) play in one of the last pro womens tournaments at the end of the 2023. She hit an eagle where no other woman had hit before, only to be matched by Evelina Salonen in the next round. She is one to watch this year, definitely.
i think eliezra is going to put folks on notice this season. have truly not seen another fpo player that moves a disc like she does. once her overall game rounds out a bit with age, watch out.
They need to widen the throwing area. Why wouldn't it be triangular, like Olympic throwing events? Too many great throws were lost. It takes the guts out of the event.
@@blueboy2727 technically its only a forward distance competition. if it was pure distance OB wouldnt matter, and they would measure left, right, and height distance traveled. but thats not possible unless everybody was forced to throw techdiscs (which i think they should)

Very humbling to see a 16 year old girl smash a disc about 100ft farther than I ever could (and probably even further, that's just the one that stayed inbounds, who knows if that's even her best) Absolutely incredible!
I invented a device I call a disc whip, for trying to fling a disc farther than I can throw it. I made 4 prototypes and tested them. It worked. I made a series of 6 videos about it and published them on TH-cam. If you're interested, the 1st video is called "Disc Whip Invented By Paul Marostica Part 1".
Did anyone else see how Ella Hanson’s longest drive wasn’t actually 423 feet. Watch at 9:10 and you can see the disc is only about 5-6feet past the 400 marker on the field. Am I wrong or does anyone have any info on this?

They definitely need to widden the landing area. As Big Jerm put it "It's a distance contest, not an accuracy contest." I sucks when 70% of the throws don't count.
There is also a good playground there where a pretty fun and challenging putting course is setup. It is a bummer though. Probably 8 feet in rise from the tee to where the discs land.
I wish this showcase had not been uphill and not into a head-wind. A showcase sounds like an opportunity to show people at their best, not to make it more difficult for them. Still entertaining though.
Can we just stop having "out of bounds" for distance competitions in general. Or at least like have some that aren't. I think that literally goes entirely against the "farthest throw" idea...anything that would go "out of bounds" generally speaking in these formats would be probably short anyways. Give me a big open space, farthest from the tee...simple.
From a pure physics aspect, Jen would throw further if she tucked that left arm in. You can try it yourself, hold your elbows out and rotate at your waste. Now put your hands in your pockets and notice how much faster you rotate.
The fact that AB went just over the wall and went longer than the record, then threw another one that stayed in bounds and went past the wall and was under 600' proves that this is inaccurate and whatever range finder they are using is also inaccurate.
Much like the game itself, manufacturers of all things disc golf related have exploded too. Discs, bags, carts, range finders, chalk sacks, apparel/shoes, "jerky", telescopic retrieval poles...the products seem endless. Which is a good thing. Because of that, why not let the viewers of this competition/segment know what discs, and weights, these competitors are throwing? I'd like to know what discs are being bombed so far. And wouldn't that be something the manufacturers of the discs thrown that won this competition be something they could market? The ol "Be like Mike" campaign but for discs instead. Buy this disc and "Be Like AB." Maybe they already do this with a limited stamped AB distance winning disc and I'm the idiot that doesn't know it?
You need to consider the marketing aspect of this. Does Jomez already have a sponsorship deal with a certain disc manufacturer, and would they not want other discs being advertised? Also, I do not think jomez would like to give free marketing
@@Jimbo-hl9fe Yeah, money and who is making it makes the world go round and what most decisions are based on for sure. Just would be nice to know what discs are flying that far. out of bounds in a distance competition is absurd. I'm honestly tired of these "distance" competitions.
