I have the same bike but the plastic orange parts fade away with the sun rays and get a touch lighter in colour than the tank colour. I have to spray mine because they are really showing the difference.
The problem depends on a malfunction of the switch ignition, if you remove the cover, looking at the start button (seen from above) you will notice that there are 4 wires welded to them. This button has a dual function, stsrt the engine and at the same rime shut off the current to the beam to save energy. So when you press it, it turns off the light. The switch has two contacts including one N.C. (normally closed) and one N.O. (normally open). In the first contact N.C. the two wires are welded to its ends of larger section, and this is the conductor that feeds end low beam, on the two contacts behind N.O. are soldered to the wire with a smaller section that feeds the relareto start the engine. You have to use a contact cleaner spray, it may be some dirt that prevents that when you release the switch the contact are closed You can also give a shot without open the swicht, perhaps are you lucky.
@@MoToxicity You are welcome, I had imagined that the problem had already found a solution, three months without the motorbike is a condition equivalent to the initial scenes of the film Johnny English reborn ...
