My first car when i got my driver's license back in 2000 was a 1987 Uno 60S. Sort of hate-love experience, since it was notoriously difficult to start in cold weather (i was always fiddeling with the choke), but the handling and driving comfort were great. I once went with friends camping on the sea side and they all went by train and i transported all the luggage (which included tents and other big and heavy things) in my Uno with no problem whatsoever. Great little car!
My first car. Loved my Uno 55S. Looked so futuristic when I first saw one with Italian plates, in southern Spain, parked inbetween a SEAT 600 and SEAT 850. Owed mine 1985 in the UK, stood out from the crowd when the super mini of choice was a Fiesta, Nova or Metro.
Actually that's an Uno 45 with the 999cc FIRE engine, which is even more "snappy" and modern (for the time) than the 1116cc you mentioned at the beginning. I used an identical one as a daily for a couple of years, since 2017 to 2020. A really honest and reliable car, very economical too!
I have a 5 door D plate uno 60 1.1 sohc engine in the same colour as the one in the video mines done 43k from new. You are correct with your guess that it's a ash tray they only came with 1 as standard so that's had a second added
Thats not a 1116cc "60", its a 999cc "45" FIRE! Theres absolutely no reason why you cant daily them, millions of people did & still do! I`ve got 3 (& a Panda 750) & the only reason I`ve stopped dailying them is the flipping London ULEZ...

Great review.
Had one in the same colour, bought at a year old in 1987 although mine was a 55. It didn't like the wet - a can of WD40 was a necessity!
My Dad owned one for 11 years didnt cause him any problems.
I have fiat uno 2 😀
How would you compare it to a suzuki Zen??
Não é um um Uno 1.1, é 1.0 fire
