Oh trust me. When fans got to this point in the manga as it was coming out, we were floored too. Such progressions were almost unprecedented at the time.
I still remember reading it and being like “Wait… did they just do what I think they did?”
Especially for that era that was PLAGUED with a bunch of harem and "will they/won't they?". Let's not forget the "forgotten childhood sweetheart" as well. Not fully hating on those types or the format though, other than Ichigo 100% which just did not sit well with me.
@@death2boredom338 Personally, I never fully hated those tropes. I grew up on harem shows, so I loved them back in the day. Not as much anymore, but they were definitely a beloved set of tropes. Though this was definitely one of the first ones I can remember that was higher on the romance levels.
My only regret is that because they're not watching Pieces, they'll never see the "my period is late" joke from Hori 😭
@@dronzerg360 Yea, no hate from me either. I still love Love Hina and Negiima haha. Ichigo 100% was what soured the genre for me. Was just saying that it was an era. The romance era we have now is strong. Hoping that they watch Tomo-chan Wa Onanoko next so we get another quick and satisfying romance haha

I think when Yuki said she was ugly, she meant internally because Sakura's nice, but she has resentment because toru is getting closer, and she wants what Yuki is after lol.

I remember that the first time I read the manga I was shocked by how much the relationship between the protagonists had progressed. Here they clearly have sex, but in the anime you can feel a bit confused and not understand it right away. As for the new love triangle, I can only say that I was satisfied with its conclusion. I won't say anything else so as not to give away spoilers.
Sota was crying because it was shown in the webcomic that he caught them doing the deed

People are so used to anime never going anywhere they can’t fathom people having sex.
The love triangle in this series is so masterfully done. You understand where all three characters are coming from, but it never feels like an actual competition between Yoshikawa and Sakura. It's beautifully subtle.
