Its cause you are destroying whats left of his soul that was in the operating system and that final sound you here after destroying the heart of nova is actually a slowed down version of his scream
I'm sure many you have noticed this but what seems to be random items attacking you in the later phase, like the telescope and protractor, are actually all items around the original Nova's body. Pull up a picture you'll see. Another cool thing is in the same later phase every other attack Star Dream would attack you with a number, if you let it count down to zero, instead of saying zero it says "GOOO!!!!". This is a slightly more obscure reference to Nova's text in Kirby Super Star, where he says "3, 2, 1 GO!" when granting Marx's wish. Pretty clever Nintendo...
And when you deal damage to star dreams core you can hear haltman scream in agony. In the original fight it goes 3,2,1,error as haltman’s wish of bringing back Susie couldn’t be fulfilled cause Susie was still alive
Star Dream has one fatal flaw: Its sheer incompleteness. In fact, it shouldn't even had been activated in the state it was then. It was Star Dream's sheer incompleteness that resulted in Haltmann losing memories from using it, and it was its sheer incompleteness that eventually resulted in its defeat. Notice that when Star Dream reveals its true nature as a clone of Galactic Nova, it started behaving in a complete erratic way. This may be because the relevant code, those pertaining to its true functions as a machine capable for granting wishes, happens to be incomplete. In fact, Star Dream can't even properly grant wishes in that state; notice that it's essentially weaponizing its own programming errors within its fight; let its countdown reach zero, and the relevant software crashes.
From what I've heard, Star Dream was fully operational during the fight. The problem is that the wish it's trying to grant was flawed from the start. Susie never died.
Nova can't complete the wish because it isn't programmed to give itself its own wishes. Yet star dream is fixed with it, making it impossible. Susie is alive, and the wish could be fulfilled by teleporting her to haltman, but it didn't/ couldn't.
Actually, Stardream isn't a clone. It was hinted (though I don't remember where) that there were multiple Novas. This is just another one of them... who knows, maybe we'll see another one in the future?
AlphaChase your right not only that BUT A SLITHER OF HIS SOUL IS STILL THERE INSIDE STAR DREAM AND WHEN U BREAK A PILLAR YOU ARE LITTERLY THE PROCESS OF KILLING HALTMANN HES UTTERLY DEAD

@@mariobroultimate1808 He didn't. But it's way too late for him now. He was lost the moment Star Dream's influence had hold of his mind. And in the True Arena, what was left of Haltmann was deleted by Star Dream OS Soul.

besides the obvious nova references, the jet levels earlier in the game are very similar to the first heart of nova stage and a bunch of the heart's attacks are similar to the ones marx uses. so much love for milky way wishes in this game!
(SUPER MEGA SPOILERS INCOMING!!!) Not long ago, Haltmann was on a trip with his daughter, Susanna Patrya Haltmann, in space. On this trip, they found a machine capable of make out wishes, called Star Dream. Haltmann decided to reactivate it to give prosperity to your business, but in the process, his daughter disappeared. Haltmann fell in deep sorrow, then he abandoned his memories in order to reactivate the Star Dream to see his daughter again. Years later, Susanna (nicknamed Susie) entered the Haltmann Works Company (HWC) as a secretary in order to steal the Star Dream and take revenge on the father, who had forgotten her. Then, the HWC comes to Pop Star to extract natural resources. They got the DNA of King Dedede to make clones and captured Meta Knight to turn him into a robot. Kirby went straight to their ship, called Access Ark, to stop them. Getting there, Kirby met Susie, who told him about the extraction plan and faced him, but she was defeated and soon fled. Later, Kirby faced a robotic version of Meta Knight, called Mecha Knight and King Dedede clones. At the top of the Access Ark, Kirby faced and defeated Mecha Knight once again. After that, Haltmann appeared and dismissed Susie. He told Kirby about the Star Dream and then stood up. When was defeated, Haltmann was activate the Star Dream. When he put the helmet of control, Susie appeared and stole the helmet, saying that for a long time hoped to sell the Star Dream and take a lesson in Haltmann. When she was put on the helmet, the Star Dream shoots a bolt in her, then she passed out. Star Dream Fused with the soul of Haltmann and said his plan was to destroy all organic life forms in the universe. Then he took off into space. Susie woke up and gave to Kirby a Robobot Armor for him to go after Star Dream, until Meta Knight appeared with his battleship Halbert. Kirby Jumped promptly and fused his armour with Halbert to go after Star Dream. After defeating him, Star Dream fused with the Access Ark, which soon lost his carapace, revealing thet he was a Galactic Nova. After defeating him, Kirby fell in Pop Star, who came back to normal, Susie went out with her Mech and Meta Knight was behind the HWC to prove his honor. Meta Knight arrived at the top of th new Access Ark and found Star Dream, which challenged him with clones of the Swordman Dark Matter and the Queen Sectonia, After that, he challenged with the Galacta Knight that he brought back, however Galacta Knight, with a single hit, destroyed the Star Dream, which fell in space. After all, Star Dream activated the program Star Dream Soul OS and eliminated all the memories of Haltmann, but before this, he reminded Haltmann of his lost daughter, Susie. After the complete defeat of Star Dream Soul OS, Haltmann found Susie and remembered who she was. And that's the Story behind Kirby: Planet Robobot. :)
RK-8631 Actually Haltmann's dead. And Kirby's the one who destroyed his soul and being, when you destroy the Heart and those pillars. Rated E for Everyone
RK-8631 And people say Kirby games aren't meant to have a story, but seriously Hal outdid themselves with this game by far one of the best Kirby games out there.
This seriously might be the hardest boss I've ever faced in a Kirby game. I can't even get to the final stage against this guy. Even the tiniest hits seem to do a lot of damage to you. So far, this is the only Kirby game I've played and have failed to 100%.
My god. This fight is already chaotic enough, but it gets even worse when you consider the context. Haltmann is dead. He’s absolutely done for. Small scraps of his soul remain, permanently infused with the inner workings of the broken, unfinished clone of Galactic Nova he created in a desperate last-ditch attempt to see his daughter again. Every time you break one of those pillars, a part of Haltmann’s soul is obliterated. By destroying the heart core, you’ve permanently killed off the last shred of Maxwell Profitt Haltmann. He’s gone forever. With the core gone, Star Dream can’t operate and begins to shut down, the entire machine collapsing around you. In one final attempt to eradicate you, Star Dream unleashes a desperate final attack. Evading it presents you with what I believe to be the most dark and harrowing scene in the entire Kirby series. The heart core shatters in half, Haltmann’s agonized screaming mangled into an abhorrent rumble as the core slowly falls apart. You’ve won. But at what cost?
The most darkest shit is that when you are destroying the pillars inside Star Dream, you can hear Haltman screaming in pain and once the pillars have been destroyed, he's dead
Also, if you have full health, it doesn't exactly knock you out, but rather takes 3 quarts of health away. If you don't have enough health, then yeah, it's a knockout.
I just realized something. The only thing making this into a true soul boss is the fact that Haltmann's soul is being trapped within that heart. If it wasn't for that, it wouldn't be a "Soul" OS.
The heart shares some attacks with Marx... kind of makes me think that perhaps the heart of nova absorbed some of nova's power when they fused together in SS Ultra. I love how kirby is such a cute and approachable game, but the lore of the franchise is like trying to decipher Bloodborne XD
This is probably without the doubt the most saddest final boss fight I’ve ever seen I mean first of all Haltman is screaming in pain whenever Kirby destroys the pillars around the arena inside of Star Dream Soul OS and second of all when you finally killed the heart of the mindless cold blooded machine, Haltman gets erased from Existence!!!
Has anyone else noticed that when Star Dream sends out letters in its second form, the letters are "H," "A," and "L." It spells out "HAL," as in HAL Laboratories. Nintendo's clever with the easter eggs
Something about the way the heart's armor gyrates in waves as the heart "roars" is so disturbing to me. It's like despite Star Dream being this hyper-intelligent god-like supercomputer, at this point it's so on its last legs that its core is fighting back with nothing more than raw animal instinct.

I haven't played the game, only watched a handful of videos, but is that giant gash on Star Dream the one Galacta Knight caused after Star Dream woke him up?
can we appreciate how this shows how powerful the halberd is. It destroyed a powerful super computer then damaged a planet sizes more powerful supercomputer controlled by the original super computer, then damaged it even more to the point of destruction. TAKE THAT ANIME HALBERD.

that star from Kirby super star is here too?
best game ever
I really hope we get Planet Robobot 2 for the switch...
Did anyone else hear the screams of pain when you destroyed a pillar? Because it sounds like Haltmann, and that means he is still alive in there...until the pillars stop, then...this comment got dark FAST, I MEAN JEBUS AM I TRYING TO CAUSE NIGHTMARES?!
(don't answer that last bit, the answer is no, ok?)
Actually, they do happen one more time.
When you shatter Star Dream's heart, he yells one last time.
If you listen closely you can hear soul 0 system
I love how when you go into the core and start breaking the towers it plays a remix of the track from super star
I haven't played the game, only watched a handful of videos, but is that giant gash on Star Dream the one Galacta Knight caused after Star Dream woke him up?
Yup
Uh huh
can we appreciate how this shows how powerful the halberd is. It destroyed a powerful super computer then damaged a planet sizes more powerful supercomputer controlled by the original super computer, then damaged it even more to the point of destruction. TAKE THAT ANIME HALBERD.
Thanks meta knight
@@clownquest Your welcome
It looks like Kirby returned back to access ark
Kirby: (Hits Star Dream)
Haltmann: *ä*
When it comes to climatic 'end of all reality' showdowns, this game does it way better than BO3 Zombies.
Holy shit!
*We just thanos snapped Haltmann with STARDREAM*
1:21 you're supposed to barrel roll through his attack to do damage
Still one of my favorite boss battles
Mr. Haltmann *screams in pain* when you break bits of Nova.
8:56 wait.....LASERS!?! THIS HAS GONE TOO FAR
13:20-13:31
Objective: [Destroy the Core]
8:30 the first time I saw that in-game, the only thing I could think was "Holy crap, he's back!"
Does anyone notice that blood/oil liquid that comes out of Stardream when the fight begins because that’s not there in the regular fight
and there we have ir folks, another Kirby boss that bleeds along with 0, 02 and Dark Meta Knight
The government is not telling this, but star dreams looks like nova from super star.
Largest difference at First phase excluding Harder attacks is ability to teleport
Notice that its first form has a huge gash in it from Galacta Knight slashing it.
I'm the dream soul os and i'm the most dificult boss in the last years
Absolute radiance:hold mi beer
Strange I didn’t hear screams of President Haltman
I swear Kirby developers have seen Gurren Lagann because so many of their games are having just these massive boss fights that are so large in scale with like thirteen phases and each one is a marathon
i imagine nova is like
"dont talk to me or my son ever again"
dont judge me that i think dream star os is his son. no , nova is not pregnant. stop judging me that i am the 34 guy. im not
dream star is novas son?... I would actually kinda like that
RADIOSOAP except star dream is not that same as nova, star dream was a super computer, then halt man used him as a Operating System for a broken Clockwork Star, so Star Dream is a computer possessing another clockwork star.
Or maybe Star dream is the galactic nova’s remains and the access ark is the second part of the nova
Oh by the way quick tip you do more damage when you gather all the material and shoot when its maxed out then your basic shooting but you have to be in front of it so dont be afraid to get in front of a broken meteor and other stuff
The music in this fight is me trying to decipher the comments talking about this lore
I was so close!! Literally almost beating stardream soul os. I needed to hit it a few times then dodge the almost insta killing heartbeat which I can dodge. That close.
Mr. Whismur I feel your pain
