Yes, the city is safe as long as you're not "flashy." Leave the late model cell phone and fine jewelry in the hotel safe. Take smaller amounts of cash when you go out. I've been to Colombia multiple times and never had any problems.

You wake up 2-3 days later not remembering a thing. Not all of them or even most of them but some of them. Never leave your drink unattended.that includes coffee or soft drinks. Nothing happened like that to me but i did hear of it.

@@Rossofficial loved every second, this place blows Amsterdam Vegas and even Tijuana outta the water price/quality wise. Had four fine women in all different flavors, for about 100 total. Even outside of the women it's got great weather (not in Bogotá, in Cali) and everything's dirt cheap. Some tips: -I'd STRONGLY recommend not going if you don't know any Spanish, first and foremost. Many less people speak English than in Mexico so you'll have a tougher time without at least the basics. -Never take buses, the ride is cheap but the cabs are much cheaper than US and you can get most places for less than $5/trip. Buses = standing downtown around at night -Your sweet spot will be Calle 22 & Carrera 14-16. I liked Hotel Villa Real because it was blocks from there and also Carrera 7 is cool the other way. Hope this helps :)
