That's interesting. I'll test mine out when I get home from work. Mine came in a generic Baofeng brown cardboard box, which I read online was another sign that they might be fake.
There are no fake baofeng 888s on the market as the price is so low that no counterfeit would make a profit. 888s has been licensed to other factories in China under baofeng thus this explains the variance.

Hey mate your having no luck with radios are ya , did you make sure the voice was not turned off on those radios ? other than that they have a auto squelch system on them so you wont hear any other sounds unless someone keys up , look into the voice off/on setting that might just be your problem ANYWAYS my stomach is hurting hear listening to you BUT thats the first time i have EVER heard of a FAKE Chinese radio and i aint kidding ya HAHAHAHA ...
You must speak direct to the point.. Learn more how to pronounce English correctly it is natural that the pronunciation will defer because the recorded voice is Chinese normally Chinese intonation is different to English intonation.. How could we learned you couldn't even express your idea correctly..
I have tried getting the original one man and it says the "teen" numbers clearly. Regardless it is Chinese English the radio that I've shown you is definitely fake because I've gotten a pair of these and one broke man. I had to return the original one because when I recieved the box the antenna was missing.
