I just got back into skating. I’m using my old World Industries deck from 1999. Krux Trucks. Some no name wheels I think (I don’t think they’re the matching World Ind Battle 55mm wheels). Grip tape may be Jessup, but not sure. My shoes are some WalMart Etnies hi-tops Being a beginner again, I can’t say if my setup is good or bad. I guess technically riding a 25yo razortailed deck with 25yo wheels, bushings, and bearings is not the optimal setup, but it’s working until I can get around to replacing parts
"F" and "R" for front and rear on the underside of the trucks, because I also do the same on bits of tape when I swap from summer to winter wheels on my car (east coast).
My last setup was a Herrington Polar 8.25 and I've already ordered a new one. I like boards with less concave ... I ride bigger trucks too, Ace 55 low ...
For me I always put a sticker on the front truck. Been doing that for years haha. I ride an 8.75 with Ace 55 hollows. The reason I ride a size down on the trucks is just to shave a little weight off. I’m the same height and weight as Brian Anderson and how I skate just want my set up as light as possible
I label my front trucks with an R for regular and the back with an F for fakie, just to keep myself on my toes. lol. Like that green, like that graphic. Keep it nice with those cheater sticks!
I usually flip over my front truck so its balancing on the axel and leave my back truck flat on the base plate Setup: Santa Cruz VX 8.25 Thunder 149 Spitfire 54s Bones Super Reds Just copped the janoski wondering if i’ll have the same feelings as you after skating cup soles for the last few years
That set up looks sick! And those Dunks are crazy! Wish I had money to cop from my local haha For my set up, I have an 8.0 Sean Malto Pop Secret deck, Indy Stage 11 139, Indy hardware, Pepper Grip, Indy 94 Duro bushings, Spitfire F4 Lock-In 53 MM, & Alexis Ramirez Bronson G3 bearings
Sweet looking deck!🛹 Those shoes are sick! Thank you so much for the personal pick of stickers! I really appreciate it and you and what you bring and do! Much love and respect! My son and I enjoy watching you and the homies tear it up and the vibe you guys have together! ❤🛹🙏
I really like that fresh new board! Dunks feel like old school fat skate shoes but they look pretty sleek, if you’re into them. I’ve always liked wearing them. They do have a narrower footprint than older fat skate shoes though. After a while ollieing in them feels pretty good and for me I start locking in that little spot right in front of the swoosh. Whereas I tend to ollie with the tip of my foot naturally. The shoe feels good when you curl your foot in and slide it up or flick. Not easy for heelflips in my case, and the tongue rips hella fast. Overall; The dunk is a good skate shoe… I bought it hoping it has a strong foam midsole, and I watched shoe cutting videos a lot. My dogs were just killing me. My front truck says UwU on it! Honestly The board I skate best with is lightweight. I have a heavier one with 8.3 deck, 8.25 forged hollow slappys, sealed bearings and 56mm (green) dragon conical wheels. My light setup is an 8” with 7.75 basic indy trucks (139’s?) and 52mm wheels, blue ccs shop bearings. I ollied over a board 3 times with it the other day before all the rain started. It’s a dark green blank with a blue ply under with a green top ply and it has clear griptape with slayer on it.
@@spencernuzzijust got a true fit from my local. probably gonna set it up as my next board. currently rocking a 9” with a 14 wheelbase with pig rails, ace 66s, and the spitfire soft sliders. really liking it for slappys as that’s all i’ve been doing now haha. i can still flip it with the short wheelbase tho.
I've got 4 setups after my recent battle with board madness 😅 10.75 heroin wide boy with 10" Slappy, heroin glow stix, big balls bearings n 52mm nano cubics. 10.5 heroin curb crusher with 215s, glow stix, reds n 60mm nano cubics. 10.4 anatomy of a wide boy with 10" Slappy inverted curb killer trucks, glow stix, reds n 43mm lil beatdowns. 10.34 Winkowski Volcano with 9" tensors, Santa Cruz rails, reds n 64mm 93A Dragons.
I have to sacrifice alot of flatground to have a bigger wheelbase. I can't ride a deck under 33 inches long because I have a wide stance. But I find riding ace/slappy trucks shortens the wb just a bit, Along with smaller wheels makes it manageable. Have you tried a longer board?
I used to label my front truck before I had crooks down. Now my front and back are way too easy to tell apart to bother due to the different crook, feeble and 50-50 grooves. Even fresh trucks a few sessions in become pretty easy to tell apart if you’re skating crusty ledges. Currently riding Ace 55 classics on an 8.375 girl board. Working well so far!
I installed pepper grip for the first time this week and its definitely thicker than mob or jessup. Was a bit harder to get a clean even cut. Would probably file it a lot more next time. Or maybe my knife was just dull…
Not sure if anyone already mentioned it but there is a 144 / 8.25" axle from Indy. Might be worth trying next when you wear through your 149's as it would save a bit more weight on the setup.
I have the same shape. Here in Europe we pretty much only get made in china DLX boards and that 8.25 true fit board is the flattest board i ever had. Reminds me of the late 90's girl boards :D nose and the tail is flaaaat. I want to try BBS one.
That's funny I'll write F n B on the bottom of the trucks we skating a baker right now I usuly skate blanks cause they break all the time and I be skating convers at the moment been looking for some dope shoes to skate lately
I use trex double sided superglue tape to lock my rails in. used to ride pig rail but switched to low pro slim lil jawns! super light Like 2g weight. Really nice and last way longer than any other rails I’ve used
@@spencernuzzithat pepper grip never gets dull its crazy, might be the best grip imo. I also been enjoying the tyshawn mids lately they have that nice runner toe and comfort and i been seeing them for like 60 in cali
Copped myself the new Hermann Stene Real True Fit 8.5" cant wait to try it out! UPDATE!!: dude its sooo niceee, got that 13.75" wheelbase and it just feels so much nicer, my pop on flip tricks is so much more consistent and just feels overall incredible. definitely copping myself more DLX true fit decks in the future
I’d just like to say it all looks very ’naaice’ 😂!

Ahahah Jah feel me
Damn straight G 👊🔥💯 love that new board 🛹 wonder if I can find one in the UK?
I been skating Ishod’s board past year half so I didn’t have a front or back truck I’m so used to twin shapes from snowboarding so made sense for me

Wow! Microwaving shoes is a new one on me 🤷🏼♂ Anywayz your Cat approves of the Dunks 👌😺 and Green Mach 2 looks like a sweet ride 💚👀
Haha yee some people like to warm their shoes up to help mold to ur feet!
Reminds me of baseball players putting their glove in an oven to break it in.

holy shit that wheelbase, I need me one of these! My short ass loves 14 inch wheelbase or lower haha

I use to ride 32.5 and maybe one of them could have been 33 with 15in WB. And yeah the ace and small wheels I’m sure help balance it !

The big balls have less room in them for dirt and grime to build up. I think that's why they last longer.
Checks out haha I believe it
Gotta love the true fit molds
I’ve been sleeping on them too long
my back truck has more grind marks than the front. the front mainly just has front 50 marks
🙌🛹💯
I’ve been wanting to try one of those True fits. The shops never have em ☹️
I know they are kinda hard to find. I almost bought both of them cuz I knew it would be a minute before I get another
im just getting into the boardslide combos and this video helped me with understanding that it helps to have the rails closer together
Max Palmer actually made his own bolt hole puncher. You can see it in his Pepper Griptape video.
Bro factsss the dunks have a perfect balance of board feel and protection

Also I ride my front truck significantly looser. So I always know
