    Another difference which is unique to Milano Derbies is that it is completely safe. The two ultras groups have a sort of treaty to do not cause disturbances.
    In other Italian derbies, like in Rome, there is real danger to be caught in between the two sides clashing (going as far as stabbing each other) which is really insane.
    Happy that you enjoyed the amazing atmosphere in the Derby della Madonnina.

    • @ClaudeMagicbox
      @ClaudeMagicbox ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Absolutely not, the peace treaty was in place from the mid '80s until 2009 when for stupid reasons some ultras from milan attacked regular Inter fans of the lower ring (more expensive, typically families and adults in their 50s and 60s) causing several wounded one of which very serious (the guy lost an eye)
      Now things are say mid level, there is no actual peace treaty in place but the ultras don't attack each other all the time

      I'm from Argentina and the sight of rival fans sitting next to one another in the stands is truly baffling to me. Away fans have been banned here for like a decade now. And that's with segregated sections, we never had mixed stands. Hoolinganism is so bad here that away fans being fenced off in a corner was still too dangerous to consider. If you're attending a match wearing the away team's jersey you would even be able to get close to the stadium before being yelled at or punched.

    Incredible Video! As an Italian Inter Fan we often forget how lucky we are to be the only country in which derbys are played in the same stadium. Now Inter and Milan are trying to build two different property stadium as all the other Big Teams have already done. But i Think that those two teams, and the city itself, needs a unique stadium tocelebrate the Derby. The EuroDerby basically put Us as the center of Europe for two weeks. So I think the best thing to be done is to build a co-property stadium between the two teams.

      As another Inter fan, I agree. Would prefer if we kept sharing and built a new stadium together. But I guess the upside is you get more of the revenue if you have your own (but will also cost twice as much to build if you both have to build separate ones).

      In Napoli, away fans are even not allowed in the stadium. And law enforcment officers don't even protect them because they are hoolingans and support Napoli.

    Well... As a Milan fan I tell you that we are not friends. Until a few years ago, it was not uncommon to end up in a brawl between the two fans. It's much better now, but we're still well separated. We live together, but tensions are not lacking, especially for the issue related to the new stadiums. Going back to the game, I really hope we can overturn the result in the second leg, but it will be really difficult for us. We don't have suitable reinforcements from the bench and we also lost Bennacer who will return next season. "La speranza è l'ultima a morire", so... Forza Milan and thanks for this beautiful content, Nieve! 😀

    Actually in England back in the 80s and also further back than that, there were areas in grounds, where away fans could get tickets in the home end, there was a general rule to be respectful in celebrations, these were usually the side stands, not behind the goals, which were standing terreaces. There were no real checks... you could rock up and get a ticket on the day for most games. It's only since Heysel, Hillsborough etc, that segregation gradually become heightened and enforced in English football.

    • @geoffpoole483

      @@geoffpoole483 Yes, for sure, but segregation was not enforced heavily back then as it is now, especially the side stands. Have been an 'away fan' (without colours) at a few grounds back in mid 80s as a kid. Fulham's neutral section is def unique though and have been there 👍

    I'm constantly amazed at how English football fans seem to praise classic Italian clashes so much (like the derbies of Milan, Rome and Genoa, the Derby d'Italia Juventus-Inter, or the Napoli-Roma rivalry). You would think they might be used to this with how thorough the support for English team gets

    • @ephraimrodriguez4594
      @ephraimrodriguez4594 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think there’s a sort of nostalgia from when these derbies were a lot more intense in the 80s 90s. Italian teams were arguably more iconic than other foreign teams. So I feel there will always be something mesmerizing about Italian derbies; even when they’re not doing well in the league.
