Hi everyone! the video is FINALLY here. thanks for your support these past few days, editing this video drove me crazy due to technical problems and then it got blocked by mr You2b so... yeah, being a reactor is fun work haha. No but seriously, you guys floor me. I love what I do and I love that you love it too. The uncut reaction to Unsaid Emily is on my Patreon page if anyone is into that kind of thing. On another note, who's joining the livestream after episode 9 next week????
Hey Sofia! Will you be reacting to 'Behind the Band' after Julie and the Phantoms? It's the process of how the show was made, and I would be really glad if you did! Of course it's your choice!!!
OK OK what broke me was the fact that Luke hadn’t been invited into his house for more than 25 years. Julie opening the door for him and his face just broke my heart
I love how he wrote a song about his mom and it wasnt just about a girl. It makes it so much more emotional and real. Most shows would have it be about a girlfriend or something.
The song is about a girl .. js not the type of girl everyone thinks it’s abt, it’s someone who he loves deeply (not bashing or hating or anything I js wanted to state that :) & I agree, it’s very much more emotional & heartfelt
If you look at the scene where the boys are eating hotdogs, you can see a missing persons poster for Luke Patterson which was from June. We see Luke run away from home at Christmas so he had been missing for at least 6 months before dying. That explains how Luke says “My couch!!” when they return to the garage. He lived there for half a year.
2 facts, which will make Unsaid Emily even more heartbreaking. 1. People can see the boys, when they're playing with Julie. But without her, people can hear their music too. So basically... When Luke's parents read the song, they must have heard him in their minds singing this along. 2. When the boys eat the hotdogs, there is a ,,person missing" poster behind them. With Luke's face on it!
@@nevaehgalluccio I agree, also, we know people can hear them play but we don't know if they also hear their voices and i don't think parents hearing their dead son's voice again after 25 years would react like that, they'd be freaking out imo
It fascinates me that Bobby/Trevor knew and played this song with the band, but clearly didn't exploit this one when he ransacked their back catalogue (Julie knew him personally and was a big fan of 'his' songs but didn't know this one at all). Seems like this one was too personal even for him to touch (which given he recorded a song called 'My Name is Luke' is saying something!).
Such a beautiful episode. It shows the connection and trust between Julie and Luke so well. What she did for him in taking to song to his parents and the things she said was so kind and generous. And Luke just trusted her completely even though he didn’t realise about the song. And she held the door open for him, even though he could have just poofed in, but he is real to her. It’s all just gorgeous.
No, I think Caleb is salty because the boys actually have the ability to appear to lifers which possibly makes them as powerful if not more so than him.
I love the last scene because it feels very much like themselves if that makes sense? Like Julie’s “get it together!” very much seems like something madison would say to the boys 😂
As I've been telling you Sofia, this was a tsunami of tears. The craziest thing is that every time I hear this song the tears flow harder. Like you, I keep wondering why I keep connecting to this show and the characters and songs and I'm nearly 55. I enjoy rewatching the show to try to figure it out 😁
I have to say that the fact that you’re almost 55 and u watch is this show is really cool! I love that even adults can connect with this show and it shows that it is very mature in its messages
@@mayam4364 don't let the 'adults' fool you, we're all still kids at heart 😁. Just remember that Julie and the Phantoms was written, directed and produced by 'adults'. They reached deep down into their inner being and made something that all ages across the board relate to.
I don’t think the did..bc he’s not with the band or with the instruments..also we usually see a reaction from ppl when they hear them..we don’t see a reaction from his parents tho
I know fully well that I will cry each time I watch/listen to Unsaid Emily .. yet here I am under a new reaction video .. eyes filled with tears. This song is so beautiful and touching.
Yep! Now I can't even think about the song without it getting stuck in my head for days. I would like to hear from the actors playing the parents what it was like to do this scene, having to pretend that he isn't there while he sings this super emotional song. If you look at the poster behind Luke's head when they are sitting on the couch eating the hotdogs, you'll see it's a missing person poster with Luke as the subject. I've heard some people criticize the parents for not getting in touch with him to make up but this poster clearly shows that they didn't know where he was and that they were trying to find him.
4:29 exactly! i noticed that too! i'm happy how well he handled the rejection cuz in most shows/movies they'd be mad at the girl and start fighting about it.
I really like the symbolism when Julie actually keeps the door open for Luke to come inside his house. Ever since he died he probably just went through the door or teleported inside, but this time it's like his parents opened the door for him. This moment is kinda like a closure for both Luke and his parents.
you said you wondered how much time had passed since he ran away, it was approximately 7 months cause you can see in the song he ran away around Christmas time and the article Julie pulled up in the first episode said that it was posted Saturday, July 29th, 1995 and said the boys had died the previous Saturday to when the article was posted which means the boys died on July 22nd, 1995 which is approximately 7 months from when he ran away. (Sorry for the detailed comment I just find it really fascinating how much detail they put into the show and I think it's fun figuring this stuff out)!
One more episode left. I'm not ready. Are you? Season 2 better start SOON. In the meantime, I'm just going to keep rewatching, even though some claim me to be crazy. But I say, YOU"re crazy for not watching this! (Yes, I'm talking to you, sis). I'm sorry you had such a hard time with YT, getting the video up, Sofia! Hope you haven't lost a lot of sleep because of it! *hugs

Way back when you did your first stand alone song reaction to Julie and the Phantoms I commented and recommended not listening to this song that way. That it was best enjoyed (the first time at least, lets all admit it we've listened to it plenty by itself since) when you see it in the context of the show... and your reaction in this video was exactly why. It would not have resonated the same way if you didn't know the story and the characters leading up to the moment the song was performed. So glad you got to experience 'Unsaid Emily' in story.
whenever i watch episode 8s beginning, i always laugh about how theres a missing poster of luke patterson and luke patterson sitting in front of it XD then i start crying
In the hot dog scene, yes i know the name is silly, there are three posters one is luke missing person where you can read luke's last name, the other says unfinished bussisness the orpheum, and the last one is a missing puppy i think the producers just want to make us cry
My theory is that Julie is a Witch like her mother. She doesnt realizes that she manifests the boys to be seen by everyone when she sings. I believe her mother "horcruxed" the boys souls to the CD to save them from Caleb who seemed to have known of them when Willie (the skater) found Alex.
I’ve been binging you’re reactions and you’re squeal after Luke said interesting relationship we have the second time woke my dog up 😂😂 I’m loving your reactions can’t wait to finish them :)

I’ve been waiting for this reaction all week!
When I was watching that episode I cried soo much
And that Emily is my favorite song with the whole movie for real. Or the whole series for real
I ball my eyes out every time I listen to this and when ever feel sad
every episode just deepens ur love for all the characters and i love it
i love watching other people cry at this ep with me HAHAHA
Not sofia having a mental breakdown with this song😭
LOVE youre reactions 😍🥰 I just want to say that I love how much of the episode you don't cut out. I've seen some other reactions and many of them cut most of the songs and the scenes. So, I really appriciete that you keep most of it in :D And also : I really really hope that Alex and Reggie get to have their "Unsaid Emily" Episode in S2
Flynn is iconic
Yeah, my reaction was more or less the same.. this song is so beautiful and amazing and it touches especially people who has lost someone they didn't have a chance to say so many things to, including that one final goodbye...yeah, that's me. Arek, 35, male.
I've been looking forward to this - am loving your reaction videos as I am an older JatP fan as well!!
