    Keep at it young man. You are living my dream as a teenager. 45 years later I'm a retired A/C and Jet Engine Mechanic.
    Got my second hoodie from you.

    We had a wet field that got wet last fall before we got it chopped. Use a 100hp mfwd two row chopper and 14ft wagons. Only got stuck twice but still made ruts and ripping and tearing. Where there were ruts there was alot of compaction and you could tell this year with the corn being much shorter and lower yeild

    Love the road trips, some of those roads are rough or tyre pressure is too hard. 52 miles is some pain in the backside when you get off the seat. Its great when you call out the towns and villages which you pass through or where you are working, as I am over 4000kms away i can check on maps and google earth and get a better understanding of of your countryside. Keep up the great videos. Ps. I have a pin dropped on your farm

    It's so interesting watching this because I've driven that same route through the city numerous times, but not in an Ag tractor.

    Thanks for the road trip. The last time I was in New York was 1990 for New Year’s Eve. It’s been a while but I had fun.
    Be safe.

    Along drive in a tractor through the city of Amsterdam, then village of Schoharie........where wife and I was just visiting in early October. We made a delivery to Kevin in Harpersfield , then saw the fossils in Gilboa.........unearthed in the '40s during construction of one lake for New York City's water supply .

    Other countries base their production on quality not quantity and are paid on that outcome. The other issue is other countries set a price then increase price for increased quality, unlike the U.S. that sets a price then lowers the price based on quality.

      If you’re talking about grain then you are correct but milk does have premiums here in the US. The premiums can make or break a dairy if uncertain markets.

    • @jackpage2084
      @jackpage2084 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi yes i think you are right in how busy ts sounding here in the UK tho obviously we don't have the quantity you lads and lasses have however they base the price of things on quality unfortunately we have had years of other nations "locally" hint hint claiming our quality setting rules and making sure that they have an un fair advantage so our farms don't get the fair price they deserve and now we need to give up land for building and solar yet feed more people especially here in Lincolnshire breadbasket off the UK.

    • @mikewood3203
      @mikewood3203 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nickthompson3881 If I'm not mistaken, the premiums are for cream percentage and that is more genetic than feed. Yet, that doesn't change the point of my statement.

    I don’t get why in America you drive with the hazard lights on when driving a tractor on the road, in Ireland Europe uk we use the flashing beacons and maybe markers because you need to use your indicators to let people know where your going. Is there a reason for it just seems like your more likely for something to happen. Anyway rant over loving the videos can’t wait for your home harvest 👍

    • @nailbender7223
      @nailbender7223 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hopefully so they notice your on the road ahead of them because most drivers drive for what's 40 feet ahead of them only. If you signal your turn some tractors shut down the flashers .

    Looking at all the mud this year and constant rain, it's funny to think how we all were concerned about drought back when you were planting!! What a year. Thanks for taking us along over the corn chopping season. I have really enjoyed your channel.

    • @rogerschlitter5116
      @rogerschlitter5116 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In our area of prime corn country in north central Iowa we had a major drought in 2012. The first such thing in almost 25 years. The next crop season in 2013, we had thousands of aces of prevent planting due to excessive rain. This is an area where prior to this, prevent planting just never happened and was considered something only poor farmers would consider. Things can change in a hurry.

    Grain corn isn't drying down up here in St. Lawrence county either, haven't had a frost yet. My brother combined some this week, still coming off at 30 % moisture. Going to be spending alot on propane this year. 😒
