I love that the band is going in new directions but for me, this will always be the peak of Neck Deep
That's what I'm saying. Honestly this album is a 9/10 for me and their newer stuff is more of a 6. Then again I like more rawness in music if that makes sense. As an incredibly weird example like how BMTH are too raw in everything before Sempiternal but Sempiternal and That's The Spirit are right at the transition into too polished for me. This album sits perfectly as the in between and everything after feels too polished and their work before this feels too raw. It's weird and I just wasted your time, I know lol

Joshua nah man I completely get what you mean. Like I love wishful thinking, rain in July etc. But this was like the apex of their music for me. The new stuff is all abit meh in comparison. If I had to give an analogy I’d say the old stuff is poetic and heartfelt like Romeo and Juliet whereas the newer stuff feels more like a rom com. If that makes sense. Idk if that made sense. It made sense to me I think. Idk

tjisatotalsellout Thank god someone finally said this. This is one of the first pop punk songs (exculding TSSF because his drumming is crazy good at times) that I don't think I could learn after a few listens.
He's done a great so far, they'll be even better in years to come.
Lucas Cameron Its a fairly easy song to play, I've already got it mostly down its just a couple little fills here and there and the ghost notes are slightly difficult. But in my opinion, Ryan Torf from TSSF, Mike Kennedy from The Wonder Years, Dani Abasi from Neck Deep and Evan Ambrosio from State Champs are the best drummers in pop punk right now

Vibe Enigma Yeah, Ben actually changed his singing style a little. He's a lot better with pitch and his voice does this thing now that sounds a little like auto tune naturally, haha its weird, but its natural. No auto tune was used for this production. I kept the tuning pretty natural. (I recorded, edited, and mixed this album btw)

This is definitely my favorite pop punk record that came out in the 2010s.
Finally some fun poppunk........I like real friends, tssf, and citizen but all there songs are so sad. Neck Deep songs are just energetic. More fun to listen to 🎶🎵🎸

It wasn't some underground cool thing like punk or oldschool punk, it was mainstream catchy punk that literally defied everything that punk stood for. Though it was catchy. Today I learned that pop punk is making a come back. This time much worse as it is mixed with emo, the type that topped the charts around 2006. Hence the whiny annoying voice. Very disappointed in you kids.

Emphasis on shit loads. It was as mainstream as is gets. That is why I find it weirdly amusing and ironic that this music is now considered "underground" or niche. I mean, I guess it is probably not much differen't than how people probably felt about the popular punk that came before the actual pop punk genre(not the same style though) such as NOFX, bad religion and Rancid, and The misfits and the Sex Pistols before that.
It is still better than the stuff my 8 year old daughter listens to though. She is into some kids named Matty B and Carson L and it is ear gouging.
