    Perhaps you may find it helpful for yourself and your viewers before making the video just take a couple of minutes to highlight your talking points. Making a note card with the top 5 points you would like to discuss can help you from wandering too far off point. I went through broadcast school and this really helped me immensely when I appeared on camera. This is not a negative criticism this is a friendly suggestion from someone who still struggles a bit on camera but has done so much better by using this simple, effective tip.

    one tip is to ask to get on the website at no cost at first until their first work and the agancy then can deduct the website fee from the first paid job. and perhaps then just a flat yearly fee aftewrords. that way its a win win for both.

    How does one keep the client from "Going around" the agency to access the talent. When referring to owning a agency as a business. How to even start one either physical or digitally. Help with that would be awesome. More videos on the business side will get few these days. Alot of owner not just models. Thank you good vid 👌

    Your video was helpful. Thanks to you Tracey and i as well learnt from your comment session. I am a model actually and as well own a modeling agency which just got registered, so basically i don't want to be too pricey on models and clients on the percentage base. Been searching for whom to explain how to go about making money as an Agency to me which you did. But if i may ask, is it advisable adding a fee to models who want to be part of your agency while recruiting models knowing that there would be alot of professional trainings grooming them as a model before picking the best to work with your agency?

    • @Fitnessfashionandbeautyover50
      @Fitnessfashionandbeautyover50  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it helped, Dennis! A lot of agencies charge a fee to the models which is for being on the website and the marketing they do for them. It's usually between $50 to $175. Hope that helps!

    I’ve no clue your age but no REASON you were in the Modeling business, for your age you are beautiful and I’m sure you’re not even that Large of an age you look like you’re in your mid to late 30’s but if you were a model for 15 year’s AND THEN you owned an Agency (And still Currently do IF I have / Had listened to your video 100% Entirely / Properly) you LOOK mid to POSSIBLY ‘Late’ 30’s but if I am guessing currently and with this video being 5 - 6 year’s ago you’re either early or late 40’s or very early 50’s / 60’s but you’re beautiful and look ABSOLUTELY GREAT. For your age Holy Hell Moly Cannoli!

  • @craigcothren6629
    @craigcothren6629 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would like to suggest you consider doing a video on the total market for each major category of models (women - opportunities by age. men like wise).you employ. I am sure you must need more than just teenagers as models. Also, does your agency employ voice over artists? I am moving back to the USA and thought it would be interesting to explore modeling and being a model for print or video. (I was a child model at a very young age in Cincinnati).Finally, take this as a helpful suggestion. As a marketing person I learned to make topic cards so that when on camera I told the audience what i was going to cover. Then present each point and ten conclude. You may possibly greatly increase your viewership and models contacting you if you can keep to less than five minutes. 8:46 is a little too long. It would not hurt to end with a sales pitch to contact you if someone thinks they might have what it takes. Cheers. Tracey

      Craig Cothren hi, Craig. Thanks for the feedback. It’s interesting because I didn’t think anyone would be too interested in how agencies work but I have had multiple emails asking more about how to start an agency and a lot just recently. Since people like the subject, I’ll do more videos on that. I’m a little more seasoned now than I was here doing videos.😁

      @@Fitnessfashionandbeautyover50 Thanks from the Philippines. As a former franchise business owner it was important to me to get the best employees I could find and treat them great. I would suggest that it might be a good idea to recruit for your own agencies. as far as models, the more models you have the more money you can make. In watching your video you appear to be a nice person to work with. So, as a person who had to promote your business, I would ask you, do you need more quality models. If so, why not pitch for possible models to email you pictures? No phone calls. Automatic computer reply only. Contact the good ones. New Topic, Would VO artists be a good add to your business? Voice over artists can be any where. If you have the opportunities to get voice over work for Dentists, Car Dealers, Public libraries and then maybe better paying clients. I am moving to Memphis in July. It would be fun to stay in contact with you. (I used to live Edina . LOL)

      @@craigcothren6629 Thanks, Craig. I actually don't own the modeling agency anymore but I still do place talent for clients that know me or through photographers. To be honest, it's a lot to keep up with and you have to make sure your talent's photos are up to date and be the go between. Now I just do it on the side but I still love telling people when they got a job!!!

    So the agency is taking 40% out of the check or 20% . How does the agency get their 20
    % from the client.

    • @Fitnessfashionandbeautyover50
      @Fitnessfashionandbeautyover50  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      When you invoice them, you invoice them 20% on top of what they pay for the talent. That is the fee they pay. Then, before you send the check to the model for what they were to be paid, you take 20% from that. So, how they get paid is to take a percentage from both the client and the talent.

      Atlanta is a good market. I know a lot of shows are being shot there (or were before COVID). You have them submit themselves and then you call the ones in that you are interested in. On my website, I had a submission tab and they would fill out their information and attach pictures. Hope that helps.
