I just happened to see this pop up and came to check it out. I'm subscribed to your channel because of Angelina Jordan, but I will tell you that no one after Karen Carpenter has moved me till Angelina. I am a big Carpenters fan and before I attended Angelina's concert in Las Vegas, I hadn't been to a concert since I saw the Carpenters live when they put on a show at Indiana State University back in 1971. I have several Carpenters albums on LP and more on CD's. Both my wife and I were big Carpenters fans. I still am, but I lost my wife last year, so a few tears from me when I hear Karen sing again. It brings back memories for me.
🫶😍Thanks for sharing how special Karen is to you… she had such a beautiful special voice. I had not realized the correlation between The Carpenters and Billie Eilish with Brother. Very thoughtful insight.
Tee, thanks for sharing more about your life and for sharing your tears. I never cried to any song, until "Million Miles" by Angelina Jordan. I did get emotional many times, listening to songs, during my life, but never cried. Music is so important in our lives, and it is sad that many people don't listen to music. I truly wish, the variety shows of my youth, with so many musical artists performing, would return to TV. Sadly, that type of program is much too expensive, compared to the crap which dominates the airwaves.
Thanks Tee. The arrangement of this song is amazing and Karen’s voice is genuine without autotune. We are so blessed to have The Carpenters in our lifetime.
I was just talking to Mike Cidoni Lennox last night and he would be thrilled that you like their book. It took them three years to create spending many hours with Richard. And thanks for the shoutout to Tori....great reaction!
Hi Tee, I'm not surprised this one got you! Carpenters are your number one as we know. This is actually one of my favorites as well from Karen. Unfortunately Karen cannot be replaced, but Tori is the next best thing 🙂
I love Karen Carpenter it started out for me back in 1972 I had a pocket radio and this was the first song I ever heard by her been a fan ever since and now I'm 64 years old
I love you Tee and that was one emotional roller coaster of a reaction. ❤ I do hope one day you host a Carpenters/Tori livestream to see if it has an audience. I’d be there for sure. BYOT Bring Your Own Tissues. You had me laughing and crying, sometimes simultaneously. I’m glad you got this one out there. We see the term reactor, well this episode serves as one of the defining episodes. ❤ Joe
This was my favorite Carpenters song when it was released. I was never a big fan just so much music growing up. I love Toris versions better as i hear her not being as dark. Karens drumming was pleasure always.
Hal Blaine was the drummer on this original track. Karen’s drumming was outstanding and as you know Now and Then was essentially her album with Hal doing his last Carpenters track, Jambalaya on that album.
It is that haunting quality, along with Karen's voice, that makes her musical abilities so special. Superstar was meant to be haunting, not happy go lucky. I like Tori a lot, but she is no Karen Carpenter❤❤❤❤
Karen's voice is a gut punch emotionally to my soul and being in a way no singer in my lifetime has been able to do. Some come close, I could name a string of them here, Barbra S., Celine, Annie Wilson, Marilyn McCoo, Roberta Flack, David Gates, Paul Rogers, Barry and Robin Gibb, Cory Wells, David Clayton-Thomas, Chuck Negron, Gladys Knight, Glen Campbell, John Denver and on and on. All are so very special to me. But none of them is Karen. Noe of them touches my spirit and soul they way Karen has snd still does to this day.❤ Blessings, Chuck in NC

I always cry to this. When you get older. Things in life mean more😢

We are all guilty of crying to Karen's beautiful voice Tee, great reaction! 💖

This took me back to the 70's what a magical time. This girl could melt solid ice with voice. No one has ever sounded like her and never will.

How about haunting, melancholy? In my opinion, some of the best music comes out of these emotions. Bar none.

I will also add GOD BLESS TORI for helping to keep Carpenter's music alive today!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
