    Ive only gone and bought one. I remember my uncle having one many years ago, and back then i thought it was just a gimmick , however i see it as very practical, and can see the logic in the method's needed to get the best from this device. My little present to my self. Looking forward to receiving it. I must state however this purchase was influenced by these video's. So thank you.

      Received my bullworker, I now immediately appreciate its versatility. So on that note, I actually treat it like a fidget spinner = so when watching crap on the t.v I play with the bullworker, the theory , something better than nothing. Adverts = bullworker, bored = bullworker. If your working a muscle, strain, time, got to be better than naff all

    Good review and like the split squats you chose to add. A wise choice. I used the X5 for a solid year and got great results. The critics of the BW have not used it properly or persevered. I went on to use the Isokinator, The Steel Bow, The Classic and the Iso bow and Iso flow. I Used them all as a stand alone to test the efficiency and all are great and have their unique advantages.

    Excellent work! I'm really glad you chose the Split Squats with Bullworker Deadlift combination to work your legs because that's exactly what I would do if faced with training just with a Bullworker. I think that movement should be promoted as one of the essential basics in the Bullworker instruction manuals.

      I had one around 1981-82. I was 17 when I bought it. I used it 6 days a week and gained lean muscle as opposed to mass. Took up weight training and played rugby in between, and at 58 l bought a BW in a charity shop. The rugby has ruined my back and shoulders and I thought it might be easier on the joints than weights. I'm basically back where I started.

    I had a Bullworker that I bought in the 1970's and kept it for over ten years. The rubber sheathing around the cables tore and the end green end caps also were showing severe wear and tear. I just ordered a brand new Bullworker Classic that will arrive in about a week. I have never seen the model of BullWorker that is showed in this video. The cables are not cables in this model but more like a fan belt with built in treads. I suppose it might be a model of the basic model that is from the past and the guy in the video bought it used. It does not matter as it probably still delivers results.

    Hello. I have had the original Bullworker from the 1970's. I seem to have lost it but purchased the X5 version a few months ago. But I have One problem with it. I am only 5'5" and my arm span is not that wide. So many exercises are a bit awkward to do. I have seen the steel bow as you are using BUT I think it is a bit too small for full range of motion. I am interested in the 28" version called the X5 PRO that also comes with a variety of springs. Can you tell me if that version is Ok for a person of my size etc. It is quite costly, but I want to purchase the correct one. Thank you for all your videos.

    Greetings from London. Great video, will watch some of your others. I had an X5 when they first came out, all them years ago and used it on and off. For the little time I gave it, it produced some positive results: I was much younger then and lacked patience; But now being an overweight lazy bastard, I have come to the point where enough is enough! I have recently started on Keto and already feel better than I have for many a year. So, Time to get some strength and fitness back. I landed on your Channel looking for some reviews on the latest BW Classic and I am glad i did .
    Think of investing in the latest BW Classic, but seems a bit pricey, though seems quality. Any option or advice will be appreciated.
    Take care.

    I bought the new Bullworker Basic but find it doesn’t have the range of the X5. The resistance is pretty high from the outset and I find it difficult to compress in the overhead shoulder exercises. Thanks for the very down to earth video!

    • @LivingWellTV
      @LivingWellTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I wouldn't worry too much about the resistance and how far you can push it. As long as your pushing it within 60 to 80% of you capability, it'll still work regardless of how much it moves.

  • @FrogmortonHotchkiss
    @FrogmortonHotchkiss ปีที่แล้ว

    The typical recommendation to hold for seven, maybe ten seconds... Where does that come from? I find it kinda arbitrary. When doing dynamic exercises, I want to see that I am deeply fatigued as the sets progress. When my strength and endurance have dropped a good deal, I know I've probably done enough.
    It takes a lot more than a couple of seven-second holds for me to see a big dropoff with the bullworker, and that is me working close to maximum intensity--seems like it, anyway.
    When I am no longer able to maintain the force at or close to where I was at for the initial several seconds, then I feel I've induced deep fatigue and done sufficient work. I will still try to hang on for a while and do a few pulses.

    • @LivingWellTV
      @LivingWellTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 7 seconds has something to do with how long maximum force production can be maintained. The studies were originally done by Muller & Hettinger. The 10 seconds is normally recommended as most people count to 7 too fast. It was found that when most people count to 10, it took around 7 seconds.

    • @FrogmortonHotchkiss
      @FrogmortonHotchkiss ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LivingWellTV Interesting! I've been trying to find out exactly what they meant by 'maximum force production', but I can't find the full study. I can 'explode' and go beyond the intensity I typically hold with, and I would call that 'maximal', but I don't think I can even hold that for one second. I don't feel I'm exactly slacking off when I do holds, but I can certainly last longer than ten seconds. I watch the second hand of a clock so I'm not reliant on counting.
      I like to dip into the science and see what I can glean from it, but it is often way behind what the bros already know by anecdote and experience. And there's much more research, it seems, done on traditional weightlifting than isometrics.
      Whatever some studies might suggest... this idea that you need a good ROM for hypertrophy--I don't buy it. The example of deadlifts for traps alone should discredit that idea. Deadlifts ARE a fantastic trap-builder, and it's almost a pure isometric hold. Pulsing a bullworker is more ROM than traps typically do in a deadlift, wouldn't you think?

      I'd like to ask you a few questions if that's ok?
      Do you supplement with vitamin d through the winter months?
      How much protein are you getting each day?
      What's your calorie intake per day?
      Also, when using the bullworker, how many times per week do you use it?

      @@LivingWellTV yes vitamin D + multi vitamins including zinc, app 2500 to 3000 calories, and use the Bullworker 4 times a week following the bullworker book

    • @LivingWellTV
      @LivingWellTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Isometric exercise is taxing on the central nervous system (CNS), more so than traditional weight training. CNS fatigue can cause flu like symptoms. This is more likely to happen as we age. There are a few things you can do to alleviate this. Take 4000iu of vitamin D3 daily throughout the winter months (check if your multi vitamins include vitamin K2. If not you can get a vitamin D supplement which includes both), get at least 7 hours sleep per night, I don't know your weight/height/daily activity for an accurate assessment but I would imagine your calorie intake is sufficient. You should be getting 1.2 - 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. If you still get flu like symptoms, just drop a day and use the Bullworker 3 times per week and/or take a week off every 5th week. This will give your CNS time to recover.

    j'ai le x5 depuis environ 40 ans et il fonctionne toujours bien je le nettoie de temps en temps et je met de la graisse de vaseline, et il fonctionne toujours, le ressort est moins dur qu'au début, cela me convient vu que j'ai pris de l'age, je m'en sers depuis pas mal d'année de 3 a 5 fois par semaine surtout pour me maintenir musculairement, pas pour avoir des muscles de schwarzenegger, je viens de commander le classic je verrai la différence, il y en a qui dise que sur le x5 on ne peut le démonter, si on peut le démonter et c'est tout simple, pourquoi n'ont il pas fait le même x5 d'il y a 40 ans avec 4 sortes de ressorts, pour adapter l'appareil en fonction du physique de la personne, a l'époque il faisait le modèle féminin avec un ressort moins dur que le modèle homme, je l'avais commandé pour ma soeur a l'époque, en tout cas un superbe appareil pour se maintenir en forme tous les jours environ 20 a 25 minutes et il ne tiens pas de place, suffisant pour se maintenir physiquement et faire travailler tous les muscles pour qui ne veut pas ressembler a Rambo !
