    Dude... why have you not blown up and become a name everyone knows? I have played guitar for over 30 years and consider myself pretty creative and unique as I have been writing my own stuff pretty much since the beginning. You on the other hand are beyond my wildest dreams of ever achieving skill wise and I have not one problem admitting that. I hope you take this as a compliment - I haven't enjoyed watching anyone play as much as you ever since SRV left us. He was amazing to listen to, but even more so to watch and I rank you right up there with him - obviously a bit different style wise but guitar players don't bother with putting one style over another when there is brilliance in both. I look forward to more!

    I'm not entirely convinced that comparing these strings on 2 different guitars makes for the most accurate comparison. Every guitar, even identical ones, will sound just a little bit different simply because of the process of making them. Pickups always have a little variance in the winding (unless they're Fishman and not traditionally wound). Even the fact that they're slightly different gauges (11-56 and 11-49) makes a difference in both tone and feel. This is still a great demo, but as with anything, take it with a grain of salt.

    Hahahahahhahahaha!!!! You can watch this video and before it end knows what he was gonna pick. Hahaha. I mean come on, every riff was triple as fire, and long on the XT than the NYXL. The Riffs made the NYXLs not sound as good, not to mention his style of playing, off the jump can tell HE prefered the XTs.

  • @tracerbullet44

    Usually thicker gauges add more bottom end that can sometimes muddy the waters, I find comparing the same gauge you compress some of that bottom end with the XTs.

  • @Hzuuuu
    @Hzuuuu 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The difference in sound signature between the two are massive. Both sounded like totally different guitars. How far apart are the gauges? The XT is 11-49 while the NYXL is 11-56. XT is more mid-focused while NYXL sounded "fatter". Djenters will still prefer NYXL for sure.

    I got a free pack dropped in on my last Amazon multi pack order of regular XL's (11-48) 2 months ago and it was time for a change last night. Maybe it was me and/or my guitar (LP 60s Standard) but the XTs (10-52) sounded way too bright no matter what I did with the tone on my amps or guitar. Maybe it was the gauge change?
    Whatever it was they didn't make it thru the night before I cut them off and put back on regular XLs.
    No doubt they are good strings and have their place but as I play mostly the music I grew up with which is early 90's alt they just aren't for me.
