David Altergott Jr just bought mine last week . I love everything about it. Looks , ergonomics , trigger is insane . Best striker pistol on the market IMO.
I actually love the Q5 M1...that is a fucking sexy ass gun. I dont care for the M2 or American ver. I wish Walther didn't offer it, as it sucks. Lol. I happen to love the paddle design of the mark 1.
@@dantaylor5476 don’t care for the paddle mag releases. I do have little baby hands though so it’s hard for me to reach. The M2 is amazing though, not sure why you think they suck. I don’t like Glocks but that doesn’t mean they don’t suck lol
Wonderful weapon. In my time in the USMC, DoD and as a Deputy Sheriff this is the best pistol I have been privileged to use and shoot. Thank you Colion Noir for giving this weapon more publicity.
khlash I think its a beautiful gun (especially the m2 version) too but for me the 4" version had to grow on me rather than admiring it the instant I saw it. The 5" version got me right away and love how it looks.
I got my PPQ-M2 for $525.00 !!! I Love It, No Complaints at all !!! Out of the box I was removing the bullseye !!! Purchased a 17 round magazine to compliment my PPQ.
Nice review. Here's an explanation of why the trigger "blade" is a safety feature. This type of design allows the trigger to function only if the "blade" is fully engaged. If a pistol is dropped heel first, upon impact the momentum of the trigger itself compresses rearward and might fire the pistol. With a "trigger "blade" made of a much lower density material, at the same impact speed, its momentum will not compress near as much as the trigger. and therefore negate inadvertent firing.
I own a ppq and Use it as my ccw gun most days, when clothing permits. I absolutely love the feel of the ppq. It melts into my hand, and OMG the TRIGGER!!! Hands down my favorite handgun I have ever owned. Its a glock killer in my book.
the trigger safety is a drop safety. If the pistol drops on its rear end, the safety prevents the triggers inertia from going rearward and firing the gun.
The trigger is what made me get this gun ..I love my PPQ! It's also very accurate and reliable. Thousands of rounds with not a single failure. Great review and keep up the good work!
Couldn't agree more. This has become one of my favorite semi-auto handguns. The ergonomics fit my hand really well, it's truly ambidextrous which my left handed son appreciates, and has one of the best triggers in the game right now.
the safety blade is part of the drop safety. it acts as a seatbelt for ur trigger when it falls barrel pointing up, butt side on the ground and spring tension bulls on ur trigger. they have a very very very VERY important to use on triggers that are short and light and without a heavy decocked hammer or u run risk of the trigger going off whenever the gun is dropped. its not to replace the safety switch, its a trigger SEATBELT!
Recently picked up the Walther PPQ M2 (model 2) version of this firearm. In short, I didn't think it was possible to improve on the PPQ, but... Walther did! The new button release is positioned perfect and works better than any release I've ever encountered. The trigger is phenomenal and they fixed the problem with the loaded chamber indicator. Only negative I might offer is the high cost, low availability of magazines. As close to perfect a weapon as you'll ever find.
I own both a Walther PPQ M2 9mm and a Gen 4 Glock 19. My Gen 4 G19 is a huge improvement over my OD Gen 3 G19 in terms of accuracy. Shoots circles around it in fact. The PPQ is even MORE accurate than the Gen 4 G19. I mean, the accuracy and trigger are ASTOUNDING. The reset is beyond anything I've ever seen in a DAO handgun. I'm not at all ready to retire my Glocks, but the PPQ WILL be in my carry rotation. Highly, highly, highly recommended.
Im so glad you reviewed this gun. You do great reviews and this is going to be one of the greatest polymer guns of all time. I was going to get an HK which are great guns but the trigger on the PPQ like you said is the best stock trigger out there.
I love your review. You've helped me to decide wether to buy this gun or not. Deffinetly gonna buy it. And that little blade on a trigger prevents gun to shoot when it drops to a ground loaded. It locks a firing pin.
On a side comment, I finally picked up that LCR I asked you about. I love it, dead accurate for a snubbie. I wish I was still in Texas so I could loan it to you. I highly recommend it.
The magazines are made in Italy. Also, if you rotate the pistol 90 degrees ( that is flat as if lying on a table) and press the magazine release, the magazine will totally eject from the pistol with no shooter assist. Good presentation Colin
I use a G19 and recently heard about the PPQ (and its awesome trigger). Found your review to get some insight into the Walther. Valuable information here from someone who knows and uses guns. Also, the production value of the review is excellent. Thanks for posting.
I just got one of these a couple of weeks ago. I think this is a Great 9 mm. My finger (Hands) are about the same size as yours, so it fits me about the same. Thank You for this review!! Thank You for your other videos and input into these subjects.
I agree with you on the issue of Glock sights. For years now, I have installed Trijicon night sights on my Glocks. I recently tried something new and I cannot praise them enough. The sights made by Richard Hienie are the best sights I have ever tried. And I would recommend them to any Glock owner. I put them on my Gen4 Glock 26 and it has made a real difference for me. Great video. Thanks and keep up the great job.
I shoot glock 19&43. I tried a PPQ today and I shoot better with the Walther. The Glock 19 grip is huge for my hands. Walther gives me a better grip and I shot the entire magazine centermass. Amazing. I was hitting center without trying so hard. Going to have to pick one up. :)
I have never went out and bought a gun strictly off of 1 review.... until now. I cannot believe how absolutely fine this pistol is. If you have any reservations on the mag release... i'm begging you... try it first. Good night my sweet lil' glock 19... you have been a great friend.
The trigger and the grip sold me..mines on order..the reason the trigger is so crisp is that the precocker on the ppq is 100 cocked..far as i can tell...
The sights on the PPQ, Are the easiest sights on the market to change! Literally, they can be swapped out in under five minutes! PPQ took me away from caring Glock daily for 16 years... Still own a Glock, but it is collecting dust now.
If you like the ppq try to get your hands on a p99 I like it even better. Comes with several different trigger opions I have the as model. Has no trigger blade and the trigger is very thick and rounder. Have the ppq to but the p99 is my daily carry plus the p99 has a sub compact model two and the magazine can be used in the p99 and the ppq m1.
I was deciding between a ppq and a glock 19 originally wanted the glick but I already have a walther creed and I can't complain. I think I'm going with the ppq. Well technically it's my anniversary gift from my wife. Soooo guess I'm lucky
I have same model but in 9mm P.A.K. blank gun, looks the same, build the same, loud as hell :) and have same functions and working parts...awesome handgun!
The first time I picked this gun up I knew it was a winner. It ain't easy to find down here in TN, also I have a G19 so buying this would be somewhat redundant, but I think I might get one anyway. It's just an incredibly well thought out firearm! Great vid as always sir, if you get tired of this one send it my way.
yes sir the PPQ unbelievable trigger you're absolutely right and it shoots great thank you for the great presentation on the PPQ Hickok45 can keep his Glocks
I don't know if Hickok was kidding; he really seemed to enjoy shooting the PPQ. Colion's review and the rumor of a great trigger " triggered" me. I bought one back in Dec. 2017, and it is a pretty nice pistol.
lol... you tried not to like it, but "it just works". I bought one a couple months ago and I really really really really like it as well. Pretty is nice but "it just works " is exactly what you want in a firearm. This Walther is a joy to shoot. I usually carry a Kimber Ultra CDP 2 which shoots like a dream for a .45, but the extra firepower of the PPQ, even though it is a 9mm also works for me.
+OMGWUNSIU The ppq m2 45 will be release oct 1, 2015 so it if you want a great 45 at a great price than i would suggest ordering one, you wont regret it!
I own several Sigs, Berrettas, and 1911. I just bought this gun in 9mm, first Walther. I must agree with everything you said, except the looks, I like the way it looks. The trigger is truly unbelievable. The way it sits in your hand just adds to the accuracy. I am seriously considering getting it in 40.
Take it or leave it. I owned and shot both the glock 19 and the walther ppq 9mm side by side. Ergos and grip feel, hands down the ppq. Actual shooting, recoil, and follow up shots. The glock 19. I carry a hk p2000 to take both out of the equation though. "Your mileage may vary though, lol." great review.
I'd been wanting a P99 for years, and I got one back in maybe 2006 once H&K got all ugly. I loved pretty much everything about the p99 except how slick the grip got when your hands were wet. So when I saw they fixed that with the PPQ, I got mine pretty much as soon as they hit the market. I still love my 2 USPs, but I gotta give it to the Walthers all day every day. Comfy, accurate, easy to use, and amazingly inexpensive for the quality that they bring to my nightstand.
Colion, I got one in 9MM and I love it. It is my carry gun now. And personally I think it is the best looking of all the striker fired pistols ! It has some very intriguing lines, shoots very well, and is very reliable. Not to mention it has a great trigger.
Rear sight are adjustable for windage, not elevation, I think the front sight can be replaced for elevation. I'm very happy with mine and your review was very complete. I do agree with another poster, Walther has distribution, and manufacturing of some models through S & W. The PPQ is German made.
Also the the mag release has been updated for us Americans, but many love the original. It is PPQ PERFECTION all around by Walther. They are manufacturing in Arkansas. Also still love the PPK .380!!
Ive been wondering about this gun. Im strongly concidering getting one for EDC/Cheaper range time. You did a good job reviewing this. Im glad the trigger is to your liking, you know how Poly triggers are. I shall go check one out at a store.
I'm just watching the video , I just bought the ppx -you should try it . The trigger is effortless. Plus it's only double action . I love it is my primary conceal carry firearm.
I have a Glock 19 and a Walther PPQ M2 and to be honest I like the PPQ M2 a little more. I paid $539 shipped. Glock 19 Gen 4 is the same price, since this video is over 3 years old, Walther came out with the PPQ M2 and the price is lower but its bad ass and better in both quality and engineering than the HK VP9 and less expensive to boot, the HK VP9 is $559 shipped.
I love my Walther ppq, especially since it's in fde. But I also have the VP9 and i don't know about all that lol...the HK is a superbly built handgun as is the Walther. Next time you're around the vp9 have the owner field strip it and take a look inside. Nothing but quality.
Well, I was never going to pick this gun up or even look at it. But I will give it a shot now. I am still getting a P30L and P30 in 9mm, but I might give the PPQ a shot. We will see. Thanks for the honest info.
7:30 I never thought about that before, but I believe the reason they put that on is to give the user an index for his trigger finger. like....."I'm on the trigger now on a SA striker fired gun". Kahr has a straight up steel trigger on their DA striker guns. Great review!
Great video, I like the PPQ very much when I saw one at Cabellas. I currently own a G19 since 1993 and love it replaced the sights with Trigicons, That is what I will do when I buy the PPQ I didnt like the plastic sights on it
Walther PPQ is advertising it's new Mark II version. The Walther PPQ M2. It's replaced the magazine release lever with a button. There is also a "Navy" version that has threaded barrel and is water proof or water resistant I think...You might want to check it out. The guys at the Base Exchange are pretty stoked about it.
I shot a PPQ for the first time yesterday and was trying to pay attention to the reset, but on my first shot (and I attribute this to the range being busy as well), I missed it. Then when I figured out that it was just super short, I thought "oo-oo-oo!" I think I'm gonna make one my first gun, but one of the M2s with the push button mag release.
I have a PPQ m2 in .40, best gun I've ever shot and I've shot a lot of guns. The trigger breaks like thin crystal and the reset is amazing. Glocks aren't even comparable
I love this gun. I have the Walther P99, PPQ and the PK380. This is a reliable weapon but a bit uncomfortable for conceal carry. However, the P99 is one that I will keep in the car as a secondary.
I think the lines on this gun is beautiful. Trigger is phenomenal. Reliability has been flawless on mine. Its why I bought three different versions of this.... Also your vids have come a long way!👌🏽
Colion, now you can drop your Glock bias. The PPQ and HK VP9 are the two of best striker fired handguns Glock had it's day, but now there many many handguns better than the Glock.
Donald Kjenstad Damn straight. The glock is nearly 30 years old. Whatever advantagea it had at its time have been matched or exceeded by their competitors
Colion, your review served to bolster other reviews I have heard about this pistol. My skepticism has been dissipated, so I ordered a PPQ M2 Navy. The gun store said it may be a 6-month wait. That's fine, I'll wait. Thanks for the quality review.
Very impressive review and quite possibly the best handgun review I've seen on youtube. I've also seen this gun range tested and it's really impressive. I'm a Glock fan but I'd possibly trade my Glock 19 for this Walther, I'd have to shoot with it first and if the feel and recoil are on par or better than the Glock I just might consider a change.
ive owned the walther for long time now an i love it. it beats everything else out there. best trigger out of the box out there, sweet sweet gun man, throw them glocks away an get you a nice walther, i personally like the m1 better then the m2 bc m1 has paddle mag release an it awesome.
you can adjust for windage. (same sights as p99) to adjust windage, you turn the screw on the right side of the rear sight clockwise if you are grouping left, and counter clockwise if you are grouping right. (each click is roughly 5cm at 25 yards
I Have To Agree The Walther ppq Is The Best It Fits ur Hand Very Well The Trigger Release For Left Handed Or Right Handed People The Trigger Is Unique And I Think The Stock Is Allot Like The Glock Very Comfortable On The Hands
I agree with everything you said. I held this gun and played with it when I went to buy my Springfield. They did everything right with this gun! It might be my next purchase, now to decide in 9mm or 40?
Subscribed. Great review. Very professional (video graphics). Good points mentioned (you're not repeating what every one else says). Keep them coming!!
In regards to the trigger, try an M&P22 ... made in Germany by Walther ... as far as i know, it's the only S&W gun that is made by Walther for them. See my M&P22/M&P40 comparison video to see the trigger analysis.
Meant to type Colion not Colin. Maybe try the P-39.Unreal pistol. Walther is a very good product. PPQ 5 inch barrel is made for combat and police action.
Nice review, usually a Glock man for handguns myself, but I have heard very good things about this particular item. No point in disliking it for no reason. Looking forward to a possible range vid for further review.
Great video! I'm convinced picking one up this weekend. Your review was consistent with all the other respected reviewers on line! Keep up the great work and thanks again!
The PPQ has the barrel setting up high and does have a large amount of muzzle flip compared to a M&P, or some other designs. Now I have to agree that the trigger is one of the best modern combat style handguns out there. My wife was going to get the PP9, but then she saw the PPQ and went that route instead.
Colion talks about the looks of the PPQ is like me talking about a Glock. The PPQ is beautiful
Fr, the glock is one of the ugliest guns I've ever seen
The HK is even more beautiful looking.
I agree! Even more so than the HK
This gun is gorgeous...How can you not like the way it looks?
Especially in person. It looks totally different to me when I held it In my hand and it is surprisingly compact! Great gun for people who think the Bersas and Shields and XDs are too small and want a little more meat on their gun but still concealable.
This gun is sexy and you know it.
I honestly think this gun is sweet looking...
David Altergott Jr just bought mine last week . I love everything about it. Looks , ergonomics , trigger is insane . Best striker pistol on the market IMO.

@@cjg9454 handsdown the best pistol on the market
I agree. I love that tapered look the PPQ has going on. I'm a sucker for the isosceles trapezoid slide look rather than the boxy rectangle ones.
@@dantaylor5476 don’t care for the paddle mag releases. I do have little baby hands though so it’s hard for me to reach. The M2 is amazing though, not sure why you think they suck. I don’t like Glocks but that doesn’t mean they don’t suck lol

its an awesome shooter.
Consistently my best shooter !! Next is my 1911 and 22/45 MK III
I like my PPQ so much, I've been contemplating getting another !!!!!
Or a 5" barrel version. Maybe the 22LR ???
$525 !!! in Europe that gun sells for 800 euros !!!
My M1 PPQ has got to be the best handgun ever made.
I agree with you I don't understand why every handgun can't have a PPQ or CZ P10 trigger
Nice review. Here's an explanation of why the trigger "blade" is a safety feature. This type of design allows the trigger to function only if the "blade" is fully engaged. +Ashish Parmar Right? I don't get it either.
He loves Glocks and dislikes just about everything else.
No shit dude!....Glocks are the supreme gumby gun fo sho!!
Glocks far from suck my friend you only say that cause you can't afford one! So take your hi-point and go troll else where!
Nate-O513 • triggered haha no pun intended
I like how it looks.
Probably the most insightful & articulate gun review ever posted to youtube. The ppq m2 (i.e. Model II) has a traditional mag release.
Funny, I bought the 5" PPQ due to the looks, many if course the best polymer trigger. Love mine, my fav polymer.
I love my PPQ. I used to carry my P30 all the time, now I carry my ppq most of the week. Great gun, exceptional value, can't beat it with a stick.
the trigger safety is a drop safety. If the pistol drops on its rear end, the safety prevents the triggers inertia from going rearward and firing the gun.
Criticizing looks from someone who likes Glocks. That's rich.

So a totally benign, unexciting, never look at it twice Glock moves and excites you, but this is meh? I look at a Glock and .......yawn...........
+retthok He LOVES his G19. So his opinion always seems to gravitate to that as the better firearm in his opinion.
so does everyone who didn't GROWUP on a glock.
I love that and I totally agree, yawn

I'm glad you said what you said about that trigger. When I first felt the PPQ trigger I was astonished it was their stock trigger.
Just bought one last Sunday. Excellent trigger and highly accurate. Would recommend!
I just bought the PPQ M2 version and can say with out a doubt its a great gun. I chose it gun over the H&K & Glock 19 after holding them in my hand!

Great review, I love my Glock 19 but the Walther PPQ is something special. The trigger is so amazing.

I love my Walther PPQ! I have never hit the mag release by accident either.
Sights are adjustable for windage, not elevation. Rear sights move side to side with a small insert screw in rear sight
Well, I was never going to pick this gun up or even look at it. But I will give it a shot now. I am still getting a P30L and P30 in 9mm, but I might give the PPQ a shot. We will see. Thanks for the honest info.
I passed on the HK VP9 for the PPQ M2 and money wasn't an issue. This was a better choice for me.
7:30 I never thought about that before, but I believe the reason they put that on is to give the user an index for his trigger finger. like....."I'm on the trigger now on a SA striker fired gun". Kahr has a straight up steel trigger on their DA striker guns. Great review!
I got mine about a month ago, been loving it, just can't beat that trigger IMO. Thanks for doin a review.
The ppq rear site IS adjustable for windage. The front site can be replaced to address elevation issues
yep.
Then when I figured out that it was just super short, I thought "oo-oo-oo!"
I think I'm gonna make one my first gun, but one of the M2s with the push button mag release.
I have a PPQ m2 in .40, best gun I've ever shot and I've shot a lot of guns. The trigger breaks like thin crystal and the reset is amazing. Glocks aren't even comparable
I like the camera angle you use in gun reviews, I havent seen anyone else do it like that, it looks cool.
I love this gun. I have the Walther P99, PPQ and the PK380. This is a reliable weapon but a bit uncomfortable for conceal carry. However, the P99 is one that I will keep in the car as a secondary.
After shooting Glocks, Smith&Wesson, Taurus, ATI 1911 and Bersas my Favorite #1is the Walther's PPQ M2.
I think the lines on this gun is beautiful. Trigger is phenomenal. Reliability has been flawless on mine.
Its why I bought three different versions of this....
Also your vids have come a long way!👌🏽
The little trigger blade scores them points for importing the weapon.
Great review. Im left handed and im between a FHN and now this.
My edc. Best trigger I've experienced on a polymer pistol. It's really, really good. Not quite upper crust 1911 status, but close.
About time you realized Walther Firearms are best everyday carry gun on the market. PPS M2 & Q5 Match is a potent combo.
Have you guys had any failures or issues with different ammo types and/or being dirty?
you can adjust for windage. (same sights as p99) to adjust windage, you turn the screw on the right side of the rear sight clockwise if you are grouping left, and counter clockwise if you are grouping right. (each click is roughly 5cm at 25 yards
I honestly don't like a mag release close the trigger. Cant tell what may happen in a heated position.
Nothing. You can’t drop the magazine by accident even if you tried.
The fit is damn near perfect.
Yes sir you do. Good luck in doing so.
I love this review! thanks for mentioning that a trigger safety is not a safety!
I have the M1. It's amazing in every way. The sights are not adjustable. That's just how you remove them.
The PPQ has the barrel setting up high and does have a large amount of muzzle flip compared to a M&P, or some other designs. Now I have to agree that the trigger is one of the best modern combat style handguns out there. My wife was going to get the PP9, but then she saw the PPQ and went that route instead.
I conceal carry everyday in my phlster kydex holster and it carries great!
I picked one of these up (M2)....and I really really really like it too. ;-D
