  • I received these SPYPOINT cellular cameras as a Christmas gift. I was so impressed with how easy they was to set up that I went and purchased 2 more. In this video i will go step by step unboxing, set up, downloading app and going over plans. I purchased mine from academy but here is a link to the same cameras on amazon --- amzn.to/3GvdNHW
These cameras have there own sim card so there is no issues with your current cellular provider. You receive your pictures through the app and get a text from the SPYPOINT APP. ITS THAT SIMPLE.

My son took his down and gave me his Spypoint cameras. He is not here to help me put them on the trees. I live on 16 1/2 acres. I am 70 years old. So, this helped. I hope I can get these up. It is not for hunting for me. I love seeing the deer in my yard. LOL. It is for catching people on my property out here and living alone. My son showed me once and told me to figure out the rest. LOL. He came out here to help put in a new switch for my pump on the well. I needed it for that. Thank you!

I always stayed away from them because of the uncertainty of data plans or not having a data plan for my cellular provider. (US CELLULAR) But now I wish I had done this along time ago. That's good to hear that yours have held up for 4 years. I am excited to see how these perform over the next year. I just had one of my shooters show back up on camera the other night at mid night. Not sure where he has been hiding but he made it. So the camera is gonna be real handy. LOL. I'm gonna release a video on what photos I have received here pretty soon.

MULTI SHOT-SINGLE SHOT, LOW-MEDIUM-OR HIGH TRIGGER SPEED SENSITIVITY, LOW-MEDIUM-HIGH OR HD RESOLUTION ON PICTURE QUALITY, 1 MIN - 3 MIN- 5 MIN- 10 MIN -15 MIN - 30 MIN DUSK OR DARK TIMER BETWEEN PICS, and update the firmware in the field by SD card. Its got some pretty awesome features and I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform over time. Congrats on your buck by the way

That's one thing about trail cameras. None of them are bear proof no matter if they have a security box on them or not. My sister and BIL have a set of these cameras on their property approximately 190 miles from their home. They seem to work well. I am looking at getting at least a pair to use as surveillance cameras on my 10 acres at my residence. It appears someone has removed one of my trail cams from a tree that was 10' up the trunk. I will be placing these higher and with the alert I will catch the individual. Thanks for the video as I also have US Cellular and was concerned about the coverage. I just sub'd and hope that will help your channel grow a little. Much appreciation from NC.

Hey Larry, good to hear from you. I think people need to know up front that I'm not sponsored by SPYPOINT and have not received any promos from them at this time. Two cameras was a gift and two purchased by me. That being said and of course you follow my channel you know If I don't believe in a product I don't push it . lol. Here is my plan.
#1- I have a camera hung on the same tree so I can see if deer are missed by the spypoint or if it out preforms the other traditional trail cams.
#2- I am running batteries as of right now and then I'm gonna order and install the lithium rechargeable battery pack from spypoint in a couple of them with a solar device to charge.
#3 -- Weather test: right now they have been in freezing weather and plenty of snow. Looking forward to seeing how the battery life performs in summer conditions also.
      #4 -- Also I think I'm gonna do a 3 month review and a 6 months review on these.
That will be a pretty good test I think. Lol.
Thank you Larry for your support and we will see how these work out.

here's a question on the spypoint can you run that as just a trail cam without the cell service and just turn it on during certain months? reason i ask during the summer we ride atv and utv there and usually catch a lot of us during that time. however we want to capture whatever is moving during those months so we want the cam pics also.

@@larrye2749 It actually comes with a free plan that’s 100 picture free per month. It has a SD card so it will continue to take picture with out using data. Also you can control your cameras by the app. If you know your gonna be going through there you could turn it to just dusk and dawn or you could set it to take a picture after 30 minutes of the last picture was taken. That would slow the photos way down. That’s the one thing I really like that I can control any camera by the app on my phone

  • @wmdouglas3

How can you remotely (thru the app) turn the camera off? For example if it's a windy day and I don't want pictures of blowing tree branches.

    • @pineylife
      @pineylife  ปีที่แล้ว

I do not know of a way to turn them off from the app. Now what I do is go to your camera on your app and then click on image capture. Then go down to delay and click on it and then set it to 30 minutes. Another option is to go to sensitivity and set it to low. This will help with unwanted triggers from wind

I have lost a few to ants and one was a failure but I put my cameras out in January of 2020 and they made it through all the seasons till this year. Only one left out of the original 4. Worst problem I have had is straps dry rotting. I have moved on to the cell links and flex series now. They have been great for me but I do hear a lot of people having issues with there’s. Most my issues have been solved by updating my firmware. That’s one thing I love about the flex’s. It formats and updates the firmware itself at the camera.
The reveals are nice. My uncle has two of them out and they have lasted him and he has had almost no issues with his. The picture quality is not as good as the flex but they have improved it with the latest models. Good luck with the reveals and keep me posted on your new cameras. I might have to try one out. If your not doing a firmware update. Then you can log out of the app on your phone and then log back in. I did everything it said to do, but the last step it won't activate and customer service had me on hold for over 2 hours and still no one responded and the chat 👎no one never responded to my help and I don't need the plans. I need it for my backyard farm birds. can you help me. I call dick's sporting store and no return call.

I'm not a service tech for spypoint in anyway. I'm not sponsored by them either. But I will try help best I can. Did your camera come with a micro sd card? Have you ever recieved any pictures? Does your phone show your connected to the cameras?

@@gracesingh6321mine came with SIM card and a micro sd card. If you have both of them and you have already received a picture from the camera. You should be good. But if there is a bad signal or interference it could be holding you up. Turn the camera on and leave the front door open. It should go thru all it’s light signals. (Red orange green). Once it’s located and knows what signal it needs it should move to the flashing red light which is beside the camera lenses itself. Once it’s off and something moved in front of the camera it should go orange and send your picture within 5 minutes. I do have issues with my camera sending pictures to me sometimes . I have to log out of the app and then log back in to get them. If that don’t work I believe I would delete the camera on the app and start over. Maybe the camera just didn’t connect to app right

Yes I have both I call Dick's Sporting store to make sure the sim was in the camera, he said they come in the camera. I tried to open it to check, but I couldn't and didn't want to force it.
