This was laugh out loud hilarious at how they ribbed our American southern cheese spreads. It was extra special because your chef served the pimento cheese spread in a vintage tupperware container!
Celsius ARE Centigrade are the same thing essentially the difference explained below was simply an inversion of the scale. Centigrade is the old-fashioned name for Celsius. The name Centigrade was derived from Latin originally meaning a hundred degrees. When Anders Celsius created his original scale in 1742 he inexplicably chose 0° for the boiling point and 100° for the freezing point. A little over one year later Frenchman Jean Pierre Cristin proposed an inverted version of the scale (freezing point 0°, boiling point 100°). He named it Centigrade. Then, in 1948, by international agreement, Cristin’s adapted scale became known as Celsius to honor the Swedish Scientist, who first invented this temperature scale. Fahrenheit used mostly in the US was invented by German scientist Gabriel Fahrenheit in 1724. And to answer Billy's question in Fahrenheit water freezes at 32°F and Boils at 212°F as opposed to 0°C and 100°C respectively on the Celsius scale.
The moment I noticed the food on Billy’s face I watched Dom very closely because I knew his reaction would be golden. The subtle shaking of the head made me laugh. Another great one boys! So grateful for the joy this podcast brings!
Dom looking at the food stuck to the side of Billy's mouth and not being able to find a napkin to wipe it off is totally reminiscent of Merry and Pippin's relationship. You guys are so freaking cute!
easiest way to annoy a LotR fan is starting at the point when you see Gandalf get rescued from Orthanc, just endlessly ask "so why don't they just fly the Eagles to Mt. Doom?"
Daniel Fahrenheit was born in Gdansk (Poland), then it was the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It is the same city where World War II began. In 2016, DJ Elijah Wood visited us for his show! IT was amazing!
So boys, hopefully, this comment clears your doubts with respect to Celsius and Fahrenheit. First of all, centigrade is just the older name for celsius. Both of those are the same thing. Water freezes and boils at 0 degrees and 100 degrees Celsius respectively. Apart from the US, the rest of the world uses Celsius. 0 degrees Celsius is equal to 32 Fahrenheit. The formula for the relationship between Celcius and Fahrenheit is C/5 = (F-32)/9, where C is Celsius and F is Fahrenheit. For example, 40 degrees celsius = {(40/5)*9}+32 = 104 Fahrenheit. In the UK, the average temperature is in the lower 20s, or less(Celsius). That's why it's unbearable at 40 degrees. It all depends on what the normal average temperature is, at a place. For example, in a place like India, 40 degrees is manageable as it is close to average in a lot of places. It's still hot, but it's not unbearable. But if the temperature reduces to 2-3 degrees celsius, it will become unbearable as the bodies of people there are not naturally conditioned to withstand that kind of temperature. In the same way, in the UK, which is way north, 40 degrees celsius is too much of a deviation from normal for people's bodies to deal with. That's why it's roasting over there now. If you still have more doubts, I would be happy to come on the show and talk about it😅😄. Anyway, Love you guys. Keep going. Lots of love from India. ❤
I had no idea LGR was on this. SO COOL! What a great and unexpected collab. Clint I know you won't see this, but pimento cheese is a big deal here in Oklahoma too. Just part of growing up in the south!
The Dragon Computer is alive and well with people still making games and hardware for it (along with its North American counterpart, the Tandy Colour Computer). There are even online emulators to run all the old programs available on your modern system, for that nostalgic hit without having to track down the old system! There is even a weekly talk show about the Dragon/Colour Computer called CoCoTALK! every Saturday on TH-cam/Twitch.
I am a big podcast watcher/listener. The ones I watch are fairly casual though, as I have been following whomever for years. I’ve commented this before, but it’s extremely refreshing to see such professional entertainment, presence, and commitment from the both of you. Thank you for the time, energy and effort you put in!
I don't know why I find it so exciting listening to Billy and Dom talking about League of legends 😂 I mean as a player AND a LOTR fan it's like everytime they mention it, it's christmas in my head and I imagine them and the fellowship just playing game after games of LoL haha (You really should start a Twitch channel haha)
LGR! Awesome! Finnish sauna is sometimes 100-120°C so you don't immediately die in that temperature :D Celsius and Centigrade is the same thing with different names.
So much fun, that was maybe the funniest episode ever -- not sure why but I was in stitches! Such a delight every week, appreciate you guys!! Aaah "Complacency Land", I like to visit for a little when I'm tired. Gets boring to live there though 😉😊 Yaaay Boston in T-2.5 wks! Not a bad Boston accent there Dom, haha. I hope that you guys have a great time, it's my favorite city 💙 So so excited for the live show and to meet all the hobbits in person! 🤩
The Dragon! Not only is it completely random that LGR is being interviewed on this podcast (the crossover I didn’t know I needed), they also proceed to start talking about the computer manufactured on an industrial estate only 3 or 4 minutes from my mum and dad’s house.
I love listening to your podcast every week. Definitely made Tuesday a day to look forward to, for once! This could even be for the theatrical versions of the films, but every time a plot point happens, like say crossing the Ford of Bruinen, tell your partner “But that’s not how it happened in the book!”
YASS!! I have been watching you guys on your new set, and I JUST NOTICED the custom Funko Pops I made for you on the shelf behind you! 🥰 You have no idea how that makes me feel. Thank you. I am glad they made it and are liked. Love the podcast, you both are such a delight and what this world needs. Refreshing, fun and entertaining to watch! Keep up your awesome!!
As a Canadian, I loved hearing you both try to learn and guess how Canada is split up. The territories are in the north (Yukon, NorthWest Territories, and Nunavut).
Sometimes I feel like they were just a dream and didn't exist since so few other people have played them. It's sad because it had tech before it's time. Weren't afraid to try fixed locations. The animations were so good that the game still looks very nice today. The game had an excellent counter-unit system. Great leveling system making it important not to waste units. Heroes well balanced early on and only a problem once they became too high level and got all their skills. For me it's above the C&C series. Not better than WC or AOE but the best that EA made in that genre.
In Texas and Arkansas we make Pimento Cheese with Mayonnaise. I grew up with it just cold on bread as a sandwich but now I sometimes put it on an open faced sandwich and stuck it under the broiler to melt.
Celcius is the same as centigrade, water freezes at 0 and boils at 100, that's why it's also called centigrade, which come centi (100) and grade (degrees), or scale of the hundred degrees ( it goes higher and and lower, but the reference is water) Farenheit is another thing entirely, but it's also s quite good book.
