It's great to see guys still like the Topper Stopper, Hawg Wobbler, and creeper. Those baits have put many fish in the bag, over the years, and still do. Thanks for a great video.
Fisher! Your father is badass kid! You guys have got everything you could ever want! It’s a beautiful thing I hope my son and I have the same relationship. Keep kicking ass boys!
Regularly use an old hi fin flaptail, it has a brass tail,i am able to run it pretty fast. Use teaser tail, and hog wobbler, Old globe, and some hifin creepers also. I'm aging myself.
@smithsfishingoutdoors I would warn against that. We did that until my son set the hook in a tournament on a 40+ and the line spun on the reel. Several times!! Obviously it got off. We also had the same thing happen with just straight braid with no mono backing. The line spins on the spool. I will always use cheap mono under my braid. It is cheap insurance. I would not have believed it had i not seen it. It was a heart breaker. We would have placed well in the money on that fish. I would hate for anyone else to make the same mistake. Keep on reeling them in
My dad has 30+ years of taping over the knot on the spool with electric tape without a slip. Use good 3M tape. It causes the line to not slip. Without tape when it gets cold, your result does happen. I have 11 years of Muskie using tape and I do it on my bass reels as well. Mono backing does work very well and my dad tapes over those knots as well.
Lee Lures is a good company too. Back in the day my dad used to tie topwater bass baits to his car antennae and drive around for a few days. This would wear the props in a little bit. I have never used a prop bait for bass before ..
We personally do much better on high pressured waters with prop baits with more metal to metal sound to be honest. Often muskies get used to certain sounds and we need to catch them in tough conditions at times.
Don’t count out burning those OG topraiders. I got a bunch of nice ones last summer running them pretty fast, had 2 jump clean out of the water for them

Nothing wrong with old school baits
Top Raiders!!!
They can be great at times! Thanks for watching
Nice video, what do you use for rod and reel set up for top water?
Our preferred: Chaos 20/20 Swat 8’6” to 9’6” with a Piscifun 300 Alijoz reel 8:1:1 and 80# FINS braided line.
Just purchased a Piscifun Alijoz 300. Was going to put 80lb braid on it, just curious if you put a backing line of first when you spool yours? Thx
I don’t, but I know many that do use some backing. I just always use a small strip of electrical tape over my spool knot.
Thx and good luck this spring.

Good tip
Thought to beat an old wood pacemaker. All great choices in the video. Definitely all have their time and place.
That’s a good tool right at times, no doubt.
Got a 51.5 on a cannonball Jr. , so I like the lake x lures
They work as well
Nice video
Thanks Mom
Surprised lake x didn’t even make the list

Never will
How does a guy get ahold of a Markowitz bait?
I will let you know if I find out
I’d really appreciate it, I had the chance to buy some of his baits like 15 years ago through a mutual friend and lost the connection
